  • my monitor went horizontal how can it return to normal landscaape mode

    My cay jumped on my keyboard, and then my screen became horizontal, I need to get my screen to a normal landscape view as I have my laptop up the hole to read on the screen

    Try pressing:

    CTRL + ALT + (at the same time)

    You may need do it more than once.

  • Shift + click on office selection horizontally when the items are listed vertically.

    So, when you place the icons, shortcuts, applications etc on the desktop and put in alphabetical order, for example, they are listed by column then row, so file 'A' is the upper left corner and the 'B' folder would be directly underneath.

    Same goes for sort by modification date and all the rest, but if I copy a bunch of pictures on the desk and try to shift + click to select, they are selected in the rows, if rather than selecting pictures, I get a load of unwanted things. Is it possible to fix or is - this just an intrinsic oddity because of how files have horizontally against the bureau organization vertically?

    Unfortunately it is not something that you can remedy. Believe me, I searched for years on Windows 7 and 8.

    When necessary, I usually open the files in a folder instead window so that it behaves a little more predictable in list view.

    The ability to rotate the screen image is a characteristic of your video
    card, to help work with instructors who turn to the portrait
    orientation. Almost certainly you accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
    an arrow key.

    Rotate using these keys.

  • File elements & Office view Wingdings "names."

    All my files and office went from English to Wingdings. Tabs in Windows Explorer are also in Wingdings. Even if there is a setting to change I won't be able to read it because almost everything is in wingdings. All this happened after I downloaded the Microsoft updates. I guess it was my mistake. Can anyone help?

    Understand the Extras in Windows Vista and Windows Update info is at the link above.

    Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

    If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

    If it is impossible to enter the Normal Mode, do a Safe Mode system restore:

    Press F8 at the startup/power and the list of startup options, use THE ARROW key to select Safe mode > and then press ENTER.

    System restore steps according to the info above.

    Also:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    See you soon.
  • VISTA INSTALLATION PROBLEM RE. MS OFFICE HAS DISAPPEARED
    YET ONCE AGAIN, I WAS INVITED TO START TO USE THE BOOT CD. BUT THIS TIME HE WAS INSTALLING A FULL RE. APPARENTLY ALREADY THE ROOT FILES WERE DAMAGED. DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS.
    NOW, I FIND THAT MY SUITE MS OFFICE WENT. IT IS NOT IN THE CREATED FILE.
    COMMENTS PLEASE?
    It can exist in the Windows.OLD folder if one has been created, but may not be re-installed or recovered from there.  You need to re - install MS Office again if you did a clean reinstall.  It is the same for all the other programs that you have installed.  If you have a Windows.OLD folder, we will be able to recover your data from it - but that's it - no program, no settings, nothing else.
    Sorry maybe this isn't what you wanted to hear, but it's like that.
    I hope this helps.
    Good luck!
  • Adobe ProX & Office 2013
    I apologize in advance to start a new thread... but, there is so much I get terribly confused.
    Our office went recently to the office of 2013.  Many of us have licenses for Adobe PROX.  Do we need to upgrade to Acrobat 11 with our existing licenses or do we need to buy all new licences 11 Acrobat?  In addition, 11 Acrobat will work with 2013 as ProX with Office 2010?
    Thanks in advance for any guidance... I can't get a live person on the phone with Adobe to ask these questions.
    -hkessel
    Hi hkessel,
    Acrobat X is not compatible with Office applications, Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker and compatible web browsers2013. You will need Acrobat XI or acrobat DC.
    Since Adobe provides not more Acrobat XI so I guess you will have to go to Acrobat DC.
    Kind regards
  • Time Machine - how to restore the files it deleted?
    I used Time Machine to restore your desktop earlier. In doing so he erased the current Office - which I had not saved. I know, I know. But is it possible to get the most recent desktop and its folders and files again?
    You cannot recover the files that you do not backup.
    NEVER start a major change to a computer without backup in progress...
    In any case... you are where you are now...
    How did you restore?
    If you have used assistant migration did you use the same usernames... If so, the old office went and wiped on... but if get it has used an audit of different username for users on the computer and the connection with the old name. Also, make sure that the name is not incremented. Recover can operate with two users with the same name... the existing and recovered... so it can rename one... for example, aickind (1) can exist with aickind (regardless of your user name on the computer).
    In the Finder, see the list of users. Open them directly from the main boot disk... not your usual list of Finder.
    If you use the wizard to configure the recovery partition... As far as I know you have wiped the computer from the recovery date... After all, it's what you asked to do.
