OfficeJet 4650: OfficeJet 4650 alignment page questions

I am registered at instant ink, and I recently replaced my original cartridges with the new ink instant ones. When the alignment page is printed, it misses what looks like all the other black lines. When I scan to complete alignment, it says that the print quality is set by default, and I don't get an error code saying that something is wrong.

I have tried to clean the ink cartridges, remove and reinstall the cartridges and running the alignment again, but I still get the missing lines. I may be defective and an instant black ink cartridge?

  • DeskJet 3050 a: Alignment Page prints clearly. Docs are not!

Yesterday, I installed a new HP print cartridge (#61 black) in my printer HP Deskjet 3050 All in One, J611 a. (Everything was fine with the printer before installing the new cartridge).

I printed the alignment page, which looked very well - clear, strong.

Then, I placed the alignment on the scanner page and clicked OK. The alignment page has been analyzed and the printer said alignment was successful.

Then I tried to print a Word Doc. The letters and images were not aligned - the entire document had to effect "double vision". I tried this on the parameters of "fast draft" and "best quality". Same effect. Also, I tried to print a pdf file as well as a page directly from my Safari browser. Same effect.

I then tried to change the route. Still, the alignment page prints perfectly. Double no vision. A beautiful look at just the page, I expect. Unfortunately, when I tried to pring a doc: double vision again.  I have tried to align the printer, this time by sending orders for the Mac (instead of directly from the printer). Alignment page prints fine. Scan reported successful alignment. Doc printed: double vision.

I cleaned the scanner glass.  I have confirmed that there is enough ink in the color cartridge.  I then printed a "Printer Status Report." As with the alignment page, the status report is out of the printer looking for very well. And nothing in the report that indicates problems.

Finally, I scanned the document alignment and sent the image to the Mac. The image looks perfect on screen. I printed the image. Double Vision!  I then tried to copy the alignment page using the printer copier. Is where it gets very weird: there was a double vision on dashes and and angled brands, but the text and the image of the printer (taking the low third of the alignment page) print perfectly well. In other words, with an alignment page perfectly readable on the scanner glass, I pressed the copy and the result was a double vision for some but not all that printed ON THE SAME PAGE!

Help! And thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    MAC OS 10.7.5

SOLVED!  I got a question on this site involving a printer that has not detected the alignment page ("Officejet 5510 alignment page not detected').

The difficulty seems to be to eject BOTH cartridges.  That's what I did: (1) ejected the bw, then the color cartridge (2) turn the printer off, then on, (3) reinsert the color cartridge and then the cartridge p.c., (4) printed a new alignment page, (5) scanned the alignment page, (6) printed a Word Doc.

Everything seems to work very well.

I hope it helps others with similar issues to printer.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 - guard alignment page printing

I had trouble with black ink print does not correctly so after several cleanings I decieded to manually clean the print head. I took the printhead of the printer then whipped cream, the part where the ink comes out with a most paper towle. After that I put the print head in the printer prints a print alignment page. Ok. Now, every time I have print whatever it is that the printer will be after the print job is printing another page of alignment. Is there a way to stop? Thanks for your help.

    Hello TheDeerSlayer,

When you clean the print heads, you should try to not clean the part where ink is coming out of it (nozzles). It is very easy to damage them and if it happened, most likely the only way to solve the problem is to replace the print head. There are two things, you might try to see if you can get the print head working properly again: first thing is to clean the sensor that checks the nozzles. It is located on the right side of the printer at the bottom of the area in which the cart moves, it looks like a strip of metal which is only visible when the transport is located on the side more to the right of the printer. Be sure to use a cloth moistened with cold water. What you might try if this does not solve the problem and the nozzles are just clogged with ink and not really damaged, is to heat water (almost boiling point) and then soak the part of the printhead whith the nozzles in the water for some time. Let the printhead to dry and then install again and see if it works now.

This picture is of you can location of the sensor that checks the print head nozzles. The image is not so great and is an another printer, but it is located in the same place on Officejet Pro 8000.

    Hi @US76MC,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that the alignment will not end on all-in-one printer, HP Officejet v40. I will definitely do my best to help you.

This problem could be related to levels of ink or printer might complain that the cartridge is older. You can try to bypass the alignment process in based on Enter and Setup all the menu on the front panel of the printer.

Here is another post related to this topic:

Looks like your paper (also used for alignment) sensor being damaged. This majority happen usually when the lens of the sensor alignment becomes dislodged, perhaps due to a paper jam. The sensor alignment is in a small black rectangle on the right side of the cart. If the plastic lens is dislodged from the probe, he can be stuck on a few points of glue, or a new sensor can be ordered.

The alignment page will print until it completes successfully.  Try print a page of diagnosis as on the Six Solution on this page. Do all color printers correctly?  The alignment will fail if the parties in black and color do not print correctly.

  • 4632 HP Officejet printer: hp officejet 4632 printer stuck printing alignment page

Help please.  My printer is stuck trying to print an alignment page.  I can't scan or copy anything to the printer.  I tried unplugging the printer with power, has waited more than a minute, reconnected and it did not help.

I tried the scan doctor and she also did not help - Alternatively found printer was 'busy', or scan doctor tried to print an alignment first page and is stuck there. If I "jump" impression of the alighment with doctor to scan page, it prints a test page, it finds everything works "ok." "" "." Print alignment page"bypasses to jump the"print alignment page"printing, and yet the screen of the printer still says 'now printing alignment page', is stuck and I can't always copy or scan anything from the printer.

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions I tried to solve this problem for several weeks.  Thank you.

I think I've just fixed this problem after 3 weeks.  I actually tried the doctor print because it seemed to be a printing problem.  I just tried the scan doctor, he finds problems, led me through steps and printing and scanning seem to work now.  Phew!  That took much too long to fix, but glad it works again.

  • Officejet 5510 undetected alignment page

Hi, I just replaced the black print cartridge (# HP56) with a HP cartridge.  The color cartridge was not necessary and was not replaced.  I tried to align the cartridge print, but repeatedly receive the following error message:

    Error: Align page not detected.

I repeated this process several times and always get the same message.  The copy print very well.  I also cleaned the glass of the scanner with the appropriate solution.  Can anyone help?  I will also change the color cartridge when I replaced the black cartridge?  Thanks a lot for all ideas.

Have you tried to remove both cartridges and screw them on. Even the one that does not need replacement. You can also try to clean the color print cartridge copper contacts and try to trigger the printer to think it's new.

Otherwise, you saw what happened then to reinsert the old cartridge?
Reloaded cartridges can still cause problems, but I assume you are using official HP

  • K5400 prints the alignment page after each document

I have a HP Officejet Pro K5400, which insists on an alignment page printing after each document.

It's on Windows XP Pro SP3, if that makes a difference!

I've tried everything I can think of to clarify this, but he persists.

I know it's the printer, I moved and installed on another PC, and the error moves with the printer!

Can someone tell me how to stop this, as HP don't seem to know!

  • J4580: J4580 will not detect the alignment page.

My J4580 that works very well for years, now will not detect the alignment page after you print and put on the scanner bed.  I try three times and it then goes to the default alignment parameters.  It still prints but text tends to little fuzzy.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hi @BruceK43,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your problem of alignment.

I understand that you used a HP Officejet J4580 all-in-One printer with a Windows 10 computer but when you try to only scan the alignment page, the printer is not detected by the alignment page returns to the default alignment parameters. I would like to help with that.

Here is the document of support designed to be used with this problem - a "alignment failed" Error Message appears on the printer control panel.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.
  • Pro8000 prints the alignment page after each print job

I replaced by a black ink cartridge and printed an alignment page and did a print head cleaning. Now, an alignment page prints after each print job and cycling the printer off, then on. I turned off the printer and unplugged the printer and restarted the computer and still get the same results. I then took each cartridge and reinstall each cartridge and still the same results. I reinstalled the old ink cartridges and still the same results. Running out of paper, maybe cut down another tree. Any help would be apprecaited.

    Hi tommy61944,

I understand that you have a 8000 Officejet Pro which prints an alignment page after each print job. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I'll certainly do my best to help you.

I would suggest you have a look through this Alignment Page printed each print task, specifically the three Solution: print and evaluate a page impression diagnostic quality. Fact the print look page like the one in Figure 10: print a Page of Diagnostics quality? If not, that's why it keeps printing an alignment, a color can be print not correctly, or will need to be replaced. If your ink levels is all good, so maybe it's the printhead (s). You can clean the print heads manually and remove any buildup that could cause problems.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • Stop 6000 E609n print alignment PAGE. When turned on. Tried alignment of the control panel.

Whenever I turn on the Officejet 6000 E609n wireless printer prints an alignment page.  How can I stop this?

I tried aligning the printhead from the control panel and that does not stop the problem.   After that, I thought I'd try the box alignment tools of the printer but could not find it.   When I tried to go to the HP Solution Center, all I could get were geographical locations.  Also did not try the third method to align the print properties.

From the center of solution... Follow the same steps to print a clean printhead... but this time to print a quality report...

Please advise to fix the unit.

    Hello

HP has no guarantee that 3rd party supplies will work in our printers. Looking at the Diagnostics pages it seems that you are not printing cyan or yellow. There are steps you can take to try to retrieve not being able to print individual colors. Please see this link:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c02045945

If you cannot print all colors, you run into a problem to scan the alignment page. I think that the question of printing color must be cleared before attempting to align again. How to perform an alignment, please visit this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02045945
