Officejet 5610 doesn't scan - no error - no indication of a problem - just locks upward.

The Officejet 5610 left scanning.  There is no error message, it just hangs.  I have the latest version of the driver and I also have a Scanjet 4890 on the same computer that scans very well.  The 4890 just is not all of the features that the 5610 has for scanning.

Anyone know of a solution?

Problem solved.

I've found the workaround.

1. go on devices & Printers

2. right click on the HP 5610 printer icon

3. Select start analysis and define the profile

4. start the scan.

It runs as it should.

If I use the charger, I have to cancel the automatic HP Solution Center that appears, because that's where the problem lies.

If my hp officejet 5610 cartridge error because they are empty I can not scan?  under windows vista. There is a document with steps to help solve the errors of the print cartridge in Officejet 5610. This document can be found here.

  • All-in-one Officejet 5610: lost all ability to scan after operating system upgrade

    Hello

    First post.

Tried to implement everything. Need for new perspective or someone just told me that the printer/scanner is not taken in charge any longer.

Recently updated to OS 10.8.5 as well as extra memory.

Have scanner only for the work of the company.

The scanner just stopped working after update of HP software. I don't remember version. Nevertheless, today I removed all HD and started around, but nothing works.

Start over means, I downloaded a new driver and the patch.

Using a HP scanning Application. Now that the application does not appear even on the computer.

Let's start with some basic questions and then go from there:

Neither HP or HP scanning Application utility are now on the hard disk after you follow the instructions from HP to delete.

What I need the original disks and to reinstall the software from it or can those be online?

    Thank you.

    Mike

    Follow-up.

Tried this approach (see link), but the all-in-one Officejet 5610 is not listed. I suspect the printer/scanner in is no longer supported?

    THX!

    http://www.MethodShop.com/2013/12/HP-utility-install.shtml

    Second follow-up:

I understand how to use of Apple's Image Capture application as a workaround. Not as friendly as HP Scan.

Unless someone can tell me the HP and HP Scan utility always work in OS 10.8.5 for the 5100, I guess that will be sufficient.

    Thank you.

    Hello

For Mountain Lion, your printer software is provided via Apple Software Update.

Follow the steps below under "Use Apple Image Capture" to scan with the Officejet 5610 on your operating system:

If you are having problems scanning, be sure to follow these documents to install the latest drivers from Apple Software Update:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-5600-all-in-one-printer-series/441142/model/441144/document/c04510394/

  • All-in-one Officejet 5610: function Scan lost after upgrade to Yosemite

Lost the ability to analyze after upgrade, print, and copy works. Have already done everything suggested by Double-U-di in the Mac OS 10.10 post Yosemite and HP Printer Support posted on 30/10/2014: checking for updates Apple, printer removed from the queue, add printer back, reset the printing system, removed the HP software, repair disk permissions * manually installed HP printer drivers v3.0 and added to the queue printer. No change, printing & copying ok, but the scanner does not.

During approval of the repair disk found a number of problems related to printing and presumably repaired, had more to do with the ' should be 80, group is zero ", but others as well.

Anyone know what I can do, short of buying a new printer? I realize, it's a dinosaur - always attached via the USB port, but she worked just beautifully before the upgrade.

    Hello @DrBucky,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are not able to scan from your HP Officejet 5610 all-in-One Printer to your computer Mac OS X 10.10. I would like to help you to solve this problem today. Thank you for all the troubleshooting steps you tried before reaching out for support. You have completed almost all of the recommended steps. However, the order in which the steps have been completed can cause some problems. Therefore, I will be having repeat you some of these measures to ensure that the appropriate driver is being used.

Step 1: Reset the printing system and uninstalling the driver:

It is crucial for the repairs we have a clean slate to work with. Therefore, I'll take you reset the printing system and Uninstall the drivers for your HP Officejet. Please click here for instructions on how to perform the reset and uninstall. Once the site opens, select the drop-down list for 'Mac OS X v10.6, OS X v10.7, OS X v10.8 and OS X v10.9'. Then, please follow the steps in the method 1 and method 2.

Once steps have been taken, please proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

It is very important to perform the audit before the repair. By running the check first, questions are found. Once all questions are found the repair process will correct these problems. By repairing just without checking first, questions may be missed.

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

Step 3: Manually install the driver Package:

Please click here to manually download the package from Apple to HP v3.0 printer driversupdate. Once the site opens click on the download button at the top. Follow the instructions on the screen to install the driver package.

Step 4: Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

    Step 5: Add the device:

    1. click on the menu of Apple , then Preferences System.

    2. click on Print & Scan and then check if the name of your printer appears in the printer list.

    3. click on the name of your printer, click the sign minus (), then remove the printer.

    4. click on the plus sign (), click Add a printer or a Scanner, click the name of your printer.

    5. click on the area of use or with the help of Print and then select the name of your printer on the shortcut menu. Ensure that the Officejet driver is selected.

    6. click Add to add the printer to the list.

    -Source

Once your printer is properly added to, please try to scan the image. For instructions on the three supported methods of scanning without HP software please click here. The support document indicates that it is for Mac OS X 10.8 but the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.10.

Please let me know if a retry of the procedure described in this new order solves your problem of scan. Good luck!

  • Officejet 5610 HP: the HP 5610 officejet scanning

With my HP 5610 Officejet installed Windows 7, I could scan directly to PDF documents. Now I have the HP 5610 Officejet installed on Windows 10 but I can scan only in BMP, JPG, PNG to TIF format. No option for PDF format

I installed the latest HP driver for my printer/scanner on HP website (AIO_CDB_NonNet_Full_WIN_WW_140_408 - 4.exe)

How can I scan directly to PDF from the printer/scanner HP Officejet 5610?

    Henk

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP forum.  You can try this alternative:

    HP extended Scan

    FTP://FTP.HP.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it has downloaded and installed, go to start > all programs > HP > HP Scan extended > Run "HP Scan extended.

There should be a PDF scanning function.

Let us know if it works.

  • Equium M50: using the results of scan an error

When I scan with all-in-one Officejet 6210, I often get an error when you try to use HP Image Zone to edit the scanned image.
The scanner works OK, but when I accept the scanned image, it goes to the area of the Image and then I get this message to HP Image zone

-Error message ' the program has encountered an unexpected error.:
Object reference not set to an instance of object. "and then the area of the picture ends.

I spent the weeks of work with the help of HP is trying to solve the problem and they even changed the printer/scanner now. It seems to be a problem on my EQUIUM M50 and I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software several times. Is this a known problem and if so is there a workaround or some magical fix that I can download.

    Hello

Sorry, but this is a foreign application and I can't think that there is something wrong with the laptop.
The scanner works fine and it seems there is only the area of the Image that are some disorders.
I assume you are using this application with digital images.
What about other programs? You can try to search for freeware applications that do the same job. I sure that you will find enough of m.

As mentioned this is not a program to my knowledge and Toshiba Toshiba doesn't support all the programs that are not designed by Toshiba or are not pre-installed on the image of Toshiba.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 stopped scanning

I have my 8600 Officejet Pro connected to my computer and use Windows 7. When I got the all-in-one, he scanned beautifully. Then one day he just stop scanning. I get an error when I try to scan which said"The HP 8600 Pro Ofifcejet not found. »

I ran the HP Print & Scan Doctor half a dozen times and to halfway through, I still get the error message "The HP Officejet Pro 8600 was not found."

On the HP Print & Scan doctor, when she leaves, I get a screen that verifies offshore:

    -Device Manager

    -Pilot Check

    -Device status

    -Windows (WIA) Scan

And then I have a yellow triangle with an explaination in next to "HP Twain scanning" brand

He has a box that says: "Please save your work and close all applications. Unplug it from your printer by pulling on the power cord from the printer. Plug it back, turn it back on, and then click "Restart the computer." Once the computer is restarted, run this utility again. "What I've done several times - it doesn't change ANYTHING. Still, I get "The HP Officejet Pro 8600 is not found" error box again...

I would add also, I was able to print without missing a beat and I use a USB cable to connect the MFC to my PC as our wireless here at the office isn't bad.

I would be very happy for any help and suggestions that someone has!

    Thank you!

    RobbieLee

    Hi RobbieLee,

I see that you have some difficulties now scans your Officejet Pro 8600 to your Windows 7 PC.

Please, try this and let me know the result.

    1. Hold down the Windows Logo key () on the keyboard and the 'R' to open the dialog box run, type %temp%
    2. Delete all files and folders in the temp folder. Choose Skip if all pop ups seem to say all files cannot be deleted
    3. The new software - uninstall the printer software Instructions
    4. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer
    5. Follow these steps to reset the registry settings and options for Windows Installer.
  • HP Officejet 5610 all-in-one printer have something that can be attacked by a virus?

I have a "HP Officejet 5610 All in one printer" running Windows XP Home edition (32 bit).

I tried to print a file that I had been sent and the printer began to print very slowly (one line / 5 seconds). At the end of the document, which had been printed was a load of rubbish! The next print was ok and printed at normal speed. BUT now, whenever I try to "Scan" a document using 'Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard', the 'Wizard' can take up to 1/2 hour to load when it is used for the scanner. If used for the camera the Assistant immediately.

I downloaded and installed the latest HP drivers and still have the problem.

Is there something inside the printer [ROM?] that can be attacked or is this a rare case to be an error of 'material' with a four year old unit. It is interesting to try to have it fixed or can I get a new camera? If so, which is recommended for a system of "consumption"? -Many thanks.

    Hi Semajleep,

I would recommend printing HP and the Scan Doctor running. It is a quick and simple tool that diagnoses and solves many problems of printing, scanning and connectivity. See the link below for more information on how to download, install and run this tool:

I would like to know if this helps or not.

  • Use hp officejet 5610 all in one and hp scanjet g4050 (the two usb) on the same computer

Have an officejet 5610 that I used for years to digitize documents, faxes, printing and copying on Acer computer with windows XP. Recently, I moved my scanner flatbed scanjet g4050 wifes to my computer to scan photos and negatives. The problem is when I install the G4050, I can scan is no longer with my Officejet 5610. Get an error message; "An error occurred just by contacting the HP imaging device. Try the following steps. Turn off and unplug for 60 seconds. The cord is properly attached. Reset. Uninstall and reinstall the device. Reinstallation of photosmart software.  Have tried all these. Does not help unless I have uninstall and remove the two devices and reinstall officejet 5610 ONLY. If I reinstall G4050 default folder which is recommended for multiple hp devices work properly then the 5610 can sweep is no longer. Error message as above. Running scan doctor and it says that there is a problem of façade. Go to the solution Center, click settings, scan settings, scan to Setup. When I click scan to Setup, I get the same error message as above. Both devices appear in the HP Solution Center each with its own tab. Is it possible to use these two devices on the same computer?

These two devices will not be able to work together. The ScanJet uses a newer than the 5610 software the 5610 will not work with. You can try to install the ScanJet, then the 5610, but I don't think it will help. I'm sure that just does not allow two devices on the same computer because the software conflict. I'm sorry.

  • Why windows 7 (64 bit) download does not work for a hp officejet 5610 all-in-one?

I changed operating systems from XP to Windows 7 (64 bit) on a new Toshiba Portege laptop and downloaded the new drivers from the HP site for my all-in-one Officejet 5610.  Nothing went well.  I can print but not scan, and often copy is extremely slow for no apparent reason.

I deleted the driver downloaded several times and re-uploaded to start from scratch, but get the message "Fatal error during installation."  I used HP correction for this, did everything it says and ran the download as an administrator.  When the "USB connection" screen, I connect the USB as requested, and I hear my computer accepts this connection.   But the HP installer does not accept or acknowledge inserting the USB key.  It hangs at that time here, and keeps installation disc FOREVER chasing the USB connect screen.

When I open the HP Solution Center, he informs me that he cannot work because the download of device is not complete.

There is no file 'help' in the menu 'start '.

I'm running out of ideas on how to make my printer work properly with the new Windows 7 system.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

In the case where you hear the ding that the USB cable is connected and that the software does not recognize it, it means that at any given time you connected to the computer via the USB port before running the software. When you do so, Windows takes over and tries to install their own drivers. That causes problems later, when you try to use the software, as it will then not connect when you use the USB cable.

In this case, you must connect via the usb port and go into Device Manager and remove everything related to your printer. After you do this, unplug the USB cable and restart your computer. When starting BACK, run the software FIRST and then when he asks the USB cord this time, it should recognize the connection.
