Officejet 6310 all-in-One: can't send faxes from the computer screen
We use an Officejet 6310 all-in-one printer. Computer of my wife, a laptop Toshiba Satellite Windows 7 Professional, has suddenly come to the point that it will no longer send faxes from the computer screen. We get an error message that something must be installed or reinstalled. We have lost the CD of the software provided with the printer. We can send a fax if we have a document printed to power the machine, and we can print faxes. We lose a lot of paper and ink because of this problem. Help, please.
Given that the Fax icon is not displayed in the window of printers and devices, you need to uninstall and reinstall the software again. This should solve the problem.

I can't import video camcorder do a lask of the firewall port imput. Reserched replacement cable IEEE 1394 with a USB one and found it won't work for video. You kind of mutilated the terms, but if the camcorder needs a firewire IEEE 1394, your PC cable card cannot accommodate a. There may be some devices that claim to USB conversions, but normally, they will not work with a camcorder. It seems that another PC is going to be necessary or another camera.
I have the machine of the object. I the have not used for a year. IR recently started using it again. The printer and scan works OK. The fax seems to ring on the telephone calls incoming (I can hear it on the machine). Outgoing faxes dial fax OK (I can hear it). But it does not connect. In other words, when I start the fax, I don't hear a dial tone, but it connects OK. I tried to follow the troubleshooting on your site, but nothing fixed it. Any ideas on what to do? Thank you
HI - none of the items on your suggested reference works. I worked with one tech HP support guys and they determined that the fax feature is defective inside the printer. Well, at least the copy and scan functions work well.

Help! With this error message, it is not allowing me to print at all. I did the steps to clean the cartridge and carriage of the printer inside, twice with no result. I turned off and unplugged the printer several times also. In addition, the cartridge that I just put is new. Frustrated. Thanks for any help you can send my way!
Looks like you did the correct steps to try to resolve the problem. If you did all the steps on the below link without resolving the issue, the hardware may be damaged.
After checking all steps have been completed, please call HP at 1-800-474-6836 for see what upgrade options are available for this model.
I have an Officejet 6310 all-in-one. I have Windows Vista. Yesterday, I replaced the black cartridge with HP98. Now when I make copies or print a document, print the page gets more light and more light, about 1/3 to 1/2 through the page and very light down by a horizontal white line through the text. I cleaned the cartridge with a damp cloth, I ran the command of cartridges clean but also align the cartridges. I turned off the printer and unplugged and restarted again. When I run a self-test page, especially the black line went up to 2/3 of the way, then it is empty at the top and gets darker, then the last 1/3 is fine. The test pattern shows a few holes in the grid to black.
I just checked the cushion under the black ink cartridge and it is saturated with ink. I don't know that is where the problem originated. I would be very grateful of any advice to solve this problem.
Is it a HP cartridge or a charging/reman? It seems to be a faulty cartridge. If it is an original HP, then check the warranty of the cartridge as shown here.
It is unlikely that the ink that you see in the field of the service station is the issue. The ink that you see is the result of the normal maintenance routine that the printer uses to keep the printheads from clogging. It is normal that there is ink in this area.

My new Officejet 5740, purchased on 11/15/14, worked fine until February 2015 - no problem with any of its functions, including faxes.
That was all the time I went from a wireless connection to a USB connection and since then out of faxes cannot be sent from the computer, even if they can be sent from the printer by using the LED screen. There is no problem with the incoming faxes.
Sending the printer with the LED screen is a nuisance of errors compared to the convenience of use of the computer. Lengthy discussions with HP Technical Support have been of any help. The technicians seem to think I should just give up and use the LED screen on the printer.
After trying in vain to send an outgoing fax using the computer, the Fax status window appears saying "queue... "as the status of the fax, and it never goes one further.
Is it possible that my passage in wireless USB connection type caused the problem? Maybe I need a different driver? If Yes, where can I download one, and what should I go for? Thank you.
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to send a fax from your HP Officejet 5740 computer, you can send a fax from the front panel.
I think you just need to update the drivers and software, please proceed with the following steps:
1. disconnect the USB key if you use a direct connection.
2. remove the HP software JO 5740 uninstall from the control panel of your computers an option of the program.
3. restart the computer.
4. make sure that all them that software JO 5740 has disappeared from the list of programs, but also your HP folder listed under all programs in your Start Menu.
5. now, go ahead and download the software and drivers for your JO 5740 (DO NOT connect USB until the software prompts you to):
6. go ahead and print a test page.
7. If you are unable to print a test page, please run the HP Print and Scan Doctor- designed by HP to provide users with troubleshooting and problem-solving features needed to solve many common problems encountered with HP print and scan products related to Windows computers.

I have a HP Multifunction printer and use the fax from the computer option several times a month. I discovered this week that she did not work AGAIN. I have had this printer about a year and need to reinstall the software several times. When I select the fax printer and say 'print', the fax screen should display and ask where to send them, but nothing happens. When I check the devices screen and printers, it shows the fax as unrelated to printing or pending tasks. The machine is connected because I can print to this well, that's just something wrong with the communication by fax. You can use the universal Fax HP driver instead:
- Download and extract the following:
(Use a program like Winzip or right-click on the file and select extract all).
- Open the extracted folder and run setup.exe
- Follow the instructions on the screen, a printer HP Universal Fax Driver will be created on your PC.

I have a printer all-in-one color HP Officejet 6310, connected to the network. The ink levels are fine - I just bought new ink.
The printer cannot print in color, my computer Windows laptop, no problem, but will print in black & white Mac.

go to the icon of the Apple at the top left > system preferences > printers and scanner/print and scan / print and fax.
remove the printer using the "-" lower-left next to the icon (+)

My all-in-one OfficeJet 6310 repeatedly says "Paper jam" when there is no paper jam, and I have to keep pressing OK until the printer prints. Sometimes the back panel pops out and I have to re - insert. Sometimes the paper (I use HP paper) feeds wrong on one side and jams. Usually before the printer indicates "Paper jam" there is a dull inside, as if the printer is going through a series of internal cycles. Then a blank sheet of paper feeds through. This printer, renovated, was sent to me by HP as a replacement in 2007. It works fine on the copy, scan and fax. Printing is the big problem. All the answers? I can't see all pieces of paper or something in the printer. I use a HP Pavilion Notebook PC DV4307cl with Windows XP.

I have a HP 6310 of all-in-one desktop. My scanner was working fine until I changed my PC running on Windows & Pro. I tried various solutions proposed by the community and the last test has been with HP Print & Scan Doctor 4.3. Follow the instructions on the screen. Also I could hear the ROAR scanner far when the message to display "HP Scanning" window showing on the monitor. The program checked all checks i.e. Device Manager, Scan Driver Check, device status, window (WIA), solution, registry, Scan Flow Manager & Digital Image Monitor HP Center. Only two controls that had yellow Triangles were HP Scanner Twain and Front Panel Test. The HP Twain Scan error message was ' the twain component is used by another process even after a reboot. Remove the software by clicking 'uninstall '. Reinstall the software with the product CD or by downloading the latest full features software of HP customer service (recommended). Note: You should always be able to scan from applications such as Microsoft Paint. If this will meet your scanning needs, and then click 'Skip '.
I am not that technica l and would really all members to guide me through the process in order to get scanner work. When I go through the movement of the scanning of a document via the HP Solution Center, I go for the selection process the file type I want the document to be registered as (somewhere e.g. office) but get an error message. I would appreciate help to resolve this matter without spending money to call the telephone helplines HP as currently unemployed. Thanking you in advance.

Have a problem with the scan option. Single House appears in the window when there are also files and electronic mail. I went to the HP site and I removed all ads by HP listed in my programs because I was told to do and then downloaded the software and drivers for my system Windows 8.1. After downloading and extracting an installation window open and I clicked on install you are prompted. An error window opened and said: (the system cannot find the specified file). If the installation has not been installed. I noticed your messages on the error message that you are experiencing when you try to install your printer on Windows 8.1. I'm going to share with you a few suggestions.
1 make sure that the Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
- Try to install
2. If you are using McAfee secure Live or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real-time scanning".
- Try to install it
3. go to the start screen (you can also press windows + R to open the Run dialog box) and type %windir% should display the windows folder.
