OfficeJet 6500 a +: firmware update

Hello

I noticed that a number of updates have been released for my Officejet 6500 a + (the last from September 19, 2016). However, the printer is not find updates via the control panel of the product. In fact, the printer has never been updated since the first purchase a few years back.

I don't mind not to do via USB, but I was wondering if there is a reason that the printer itself does not recognize that there are new updates available, especially because HP recommends the update of devices in this way.

I would appreciate any advice.

See you soon!

You want never automatic updates takes place, never.   The update may cause problems with the printer.   Update you only if you are looking for and you decide that the update applies to a specific problem, you are seen, then update.    And never to it wireless.

How to upgrade my HP Officjet 8620 firmware to a version earlier?  The current updated made by my useless printer and I need to go back to the previous version.

You must restore the firmware. There is a difficulty, but HP will not help you with it. Took me about 30 minutes to piece it together and maybe 15 to implement then miraculously all my cartridges "damaged" brought great.

Start here and post your experience. I hope turning off the auto-updates, it prevents them from bricking your printer again.

  • Cannot update firmware Officejet 6500 has more

I just receivevd my new Officejet 6500 a Plus (e710n-z).  The status page shows a f/w Rev. CIP1FN1110AR.  I did a search for updates on the printer itself and he says it's not.  I went to the 6500 a Plus page Web on HP.com and find f/w CIP1FN1126AR (OJ6500_E710n - z_R1126A.exe).  It is obviously a most recent version, right?  So I download it, then run it.  It works very well and even detect my printer.  However, the printer is gray and under STATUS does not say there is.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Thank you!

    Sea

    I am employed by HP

If my post helped you... click on the LAURELS on the left to say thank YOU! ***

I DID IT!  I finally got the updated firmware update!  Gotta think sometimes off the beaten path!  I am a technician in field HP and normally we cannot simply click one. EXE firmware update.  Then that which made me think to extract the. EXE (see previous post).  Then I thought about the update via USB, in the same way that we do it not connected to network Laserjet printers and it worked!

So what you have to do is extract the file update package .ful (OJ6500_E710n - z_R1206A.exe), I used 7zip for this.  Then rename it and place it in the root of C: I just renamed mine fw.ful, short and sweet.

Then you need to share the printer, use a name that is short and sweet.  I called mine Officejet.

Then I went to a command prompt (not sure if it was necessary, but only in the case) and copied the firmware file.  Here is the command that I used

    copy/b c:\fw.ful \\your computername\printer sharename

My printer works now the firmware version 1206!  Not sure why it wouldn't run and update you want to its supposed to but at least now we have a way to do it.  I hope everyone can get what goes on their printer.

  • OfficeJet 6500 E710a-f: how to download the latest firmware and the BASE driver for my Officejet 6500 on Windows 7

I'm looking for a way to download the latest driver and firmware base packages for my Officejet 6500 E710a-f for Windows 7, x 64 (latest patches and service packs applied).

Regardless of the road I take (including the link called "Download drivers"), finding drivers inevitably leads me to the same page that contains the vertical tabs named 'Troubleshooting', 'How to' and so on and none of the links - not even under 'options to support more' - led to a Basic downloadable driver package. In fact, none of them leads to a downloadable driver package of all kinds. The most that I could find is that package Wizard driver installation that attempts to download the package that I am not interested in-oh and a few mentions in the KB articles downloadable driver packages.

I also tried "Printer Setup, Installation" & Setup and then variously "Installation, install & connect printer ' and 'Software updates' & Firmware, which none offer a downloadable package.

This used to work perfectly fine a few months ago, but now I'm getting round on the same page over and over again. I can not find the basic driver or the software for the printer more.

Where can I find the basic driver package (used about 30 MB in size) in order to avoid the crapware included in the package (130MO) "full feature" more great who gets automatically downloaded to an unknown destination on my hard drive using this driver installation wizard. It's my PC and I want to be the one who decides in which runs when and how. Now I can try to track down the location of download using ProcMon and what not, but it would give me is this package 'feature complete' with a bunch of crapware added on strictly necessary. How to get the base driver package?

    Thank you!

Never mind. Fascinating, the "Download drivers" link under the Support tab at the top leads to a different page that the link "search for drivers' next to my question posted .

Both methods require enter the name of the model (after picking "Printers" in the first case) in a similar way, but the former led in circles on the same page with no possibility to download, while the latter one immediately takes me to the downloads, I was looking for.

  • OfficeJet Pro X451dw (CN463A): updated the Firmware says X451dw "EC Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device."

I'm trying to update the firmware on my HP Officejet Pro X451dw (CN463A), but the firmware update fails with the error "This Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device." More precisely:

    1. With the help of EWS, I confirmed that my current firmware is very old (it lists the firmware version of BWP1CN1315FR, which means 1315FR, right?, dating almost the time I bought the printer about 3 years ago).
    2. I downloaded the firmware ("OJP_X451dw_R1640A_updated.dmg") was last updated, copied 'HP Firmware Updater' in /Applications and then he ran.
    3. It shows my printer in the Device Discovery list. I selected and clicked on continue.
    4. He thinks for a while, displaying "recovery information...". »
    5. After a wait of 30 seconds (approx.), it displays "EC Firmware Updater does not contain updates for your device."

    Any suggestions?

  • OfficeJet 4635 cancel the firmware update because my ink cartridges are for older versions of the product

I was happy with my officejet 4635 until I clicked on ok to apply for the HP firmware update. He said that it would improve my printer. However, demand has not said that my ink cartridges may not work if I installed the update. I clicked on ok and the update has been successfully installed. Now I can't print anything because I get an error message saying the I have ink cartridges are designed for older versions of the product. I do not use the new HP cartridges because they cost too much. I used cartridges refilled abacus in Az. Phhoenix which worked fine up until I did the update of the firmware of HP. I need to go back to the old system, so I can print again. I am connected to a desktop computer HP envy running windows 8.1. I'm furious HP to try and force you to buy their new cartridges with an update of something. I think that whoever came up with this update should be fired. Any help with a solution would be appreciated.

I was told that there is no way to undo the update of the firmware. HP did send me a few ink cartridges so I could print again, but I am still ticked about the way this has been ensured by HP. They have not told me that my old version cartridges would not more work after updating firmware. I think that it is simply dishonest on part of HP and I am sure that other customers have been captured by this update of the firmware. I am sure it was a HP effort going to force you to use their new cartridges. I'll be very careful on the acceptance of the updates from HP in the future.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Premium Firmware update

    Hello:

Known issues with the recent firmware updated for Officejet Pro 8600 Premium of CLP1CN1150CR to CLP1CN1322CR?

I created the shortcut on the desktop and have printed the presentation and installation Instructions. The printer is connected locally (via USB) to my PC from main office (where I do the upgrade). And I will follow the instructions to make a break my firewall (KIS2013).

It looks like a simple process, but flashing firmware & BIOS updates on material/mobos make me always disgusted.

So I'm just now - inquire in advance - of known issues with this particular update or the update process? Thank you!

    OfficeJet 7410 (USB-old DT & wireless-LT) - still works very well!

view 58 and no response? Bad luck.

    Well, too bad.

I guess it is "resolved", I advanced and performed the update.

I pause my AV/Firewall during installation.

It took about 5 min or less via a USB connection.

Also, I restarted the computer after being full, like the phone that recommended technical support, even if restarting is NOT listed in the instructions.

It seems to have been successful.

    Thanks anyway!

P.S. for anyone who needs to do this, please don't forget to read the instructions, in particular the warning to the 8600 a connection to the computer via hard wire (ethernet or USB), no wireless. (I don't know if the update could interrupt or not, or if the printer would be damaged if we tried to do wireless).

No problem. Everything works now or this tool only deleted the HP software? If so, then try to download the full features software to see if it does not work or not here. Please choose your operating system that is appropriate; 32-bit or 64-bit. I will seek forward to hearing from you.

  • The Officejet 8500 firmware update

I'm trying to update the firmware on my Officejet 8500 A909g.

I downloaded the firmware but the Firmware HP Downloader can't find my printer. I tried two different computers with the same results and I also tried the search on the Downloader button.

    Windows Vista 32 bit

    No error message displayed

No changes to the system or printer. Automatic fax receiving feature does not work. I hope to update the firmware will fix it. Everything works on the printer otherwise.

I finally got the firmware updated, but I needed to update the software and drivers on my laptop most recent first. Then I tried to update the firmware and it worked fine.

  • Driver for Officejet 6500 E709a must be updated. Currently causes a distortion of the Excel worksheets.

By Microsoft, the driver for the Officejet 6500 E709a must be updated to resolve a problem that causes the deformation of MS Excel spreadsheets.  http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Office/Forum/office_2010-Excel/Excel-2010-scrolling-problem/166a8...

    The forum page linked above:

If the problem occurs in safe mode too, change the default printer and check. If Excel works fine after changing the default printer, then contact the manufacturer of the printer to update printer drivers.

    GHenry512, welcome to the forum.

  • Cannot print or scan from MacBook Pro to Officejet 6500 E709n after Firmware upgrade

    I have-

    MacBook Pro; OS X 10.5.8

JO HP 6500 E709n: Firmware RBP1FN0935AR connected by Ethernet to my network.

Also several XP and Vista machines machine.

I have most of my printing and scanning of MBP.  I've updated the firmware the week last version (above) found under the XP software and drivers for this printer.  I thought more recent firmware is always better.  In any case, after that, I can no longer print or scan from the MBP.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software on my MBP 2 times.  And I followed the instructions on this forum for posts with similar problems.

I can see the printer in the Systerm preferences > Print & Fax.  He is registered and has a green light.  I can navigate to the printer and connect.  I can not state of ink.

BUT when I run the Setup Wizard, the printer is not listed in the window "select the device".

When I do 'add devices by IP' and enter the IP, I get a message saying that it could not connect to the printer.

I can print from my XP and Vista machines.  The XP machine is a virtual machine on VMWare Fusion on my MBP.  So I now transfer that I want to print my XP VM just to print it.  Is NOT IDEAL, but that market.  Hoping to solve this problem.

    1. I try to downgrade the firmware to the previous version.  Is anyway to do this?  How can I get the previous version of firmware?

    2. I would like to know what ports are used to connect to the printer?  If anyone can let me know, I'll see if my MBP has those blocked or not.

    3. If anyone can offer a solution, I would appreciated it.

OK, I finally found this thing.  What happened was that my wireless connection does not (for reasons unknown at this point) my Mac to connect to the printer.  Even if I can get to the Web page.  Hello may not cross.

Anyway, on a whim, I disabled the airport and used an ethernet cable to connect to the same switch the 6500 was conducting and reinstalled the software.  And whaddaya know.  I was able to install the printer, then did a scan and printing and a jig around the room.

I disconnected the cable and turn on the wireless connection, once again, and wouldn't you know, HP Scan Pro can not connect to the 6500.  Is returned to the thread and it works.  Hmmm.

I am due for an in new wireless access point.  The DLink and my Verizon FIOS Actiontec router sometimes do strange things.

I'll still give you, PrintDoc, 1 kudo for loans to help.  And the uninstalling of 3 keys; It was new to me.

I may be the only one who has never fallen on this, but it may be useful to say, do NOT take your connection Wireless for granted.  Always test everything.

    Thank you

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620e ADF jam error after firmware update

After you install the updated firmware from the touch screen of the printer, the printer restarts and now has an error that says "Original is caught in the ADF (ADF).  Open the cover of the ADF, remove and reload the original, then try again. »

I went through all the steps to clear a jam from the ADF, but the opinion is persistent.  It is not (and was not before the upgrade) in the ADF at all.  Since this coincided with the update of the firmware, my suspiscion is that the firmware has not installed properly or something.  What am I doing here?

This problem has been resolved using the printer instead of purchase and exchange for another.  I can hardly believe that the cables are working loose within two weeks, she was detained and then broke at the exact time that the firmware update has been completed.  In any case, the problem was solved by replacing the printer.  I don't have any feedback solutions until a month after I did.

  • How to print from my ipad to the officejet 6500 has more?

I read that there may be something else than necessary. I want to print directly to the Officejet 6500 has more. Apple said ths is an Air Print printer able to do this. I don't take this monster out of the box until I know he will do what I want without a lot of trouble. Thank you.

OK, so you were talking about requiring the update.  It is difficult to say that all depends on if it came with the new firmware or not.  It is not really relevant, however, because it will be updated as soon as Web Services.  This process takes a few minutes.  There is no computer necessary for the update of the firmware as long as the printer has internet access (which is directly connected to a router via ethernet or wireless).  Yes, a connection ad hoc, you will be able to print from the iPad, but you can use its 3 G connection instead of through your router.  It can only support a single WiFi also.  Go ahead and set up the printer and keep me posted on what happens.

BTW - what is the problem with your PC that it cannot access the internet?

  • All-in-one HP Officejet 6500 has: paper size or the type of error message problem

    I have a HP Officejet 6500 all-in-one a and am running Win 7 on a desktop computer.
I get a paper mismatch (type and paper size is incorrect) error message.
The printer is not connected to the internet, but it is connected by a USB cable to the computer.
I look at the instructions to make an internet connection and they were just too complicated. So I download the update of the firmware and ran to the computer. He would not go beyond the area of printer selection where no printers were found. Clicking Refresh has not helped.
This update of the firmware seems to have solved the problem for some users, but I need to know how you install it.
    Thanks for your help.

    17/03/2015 #2

I think I solved the problem. I went to the website to download drivers, etc., and, rather than to specify the printer, I clicked the button to let HP identify it. It came with the correct name (see post) preceding. Then, I downloaded and installed the full feature software and driver. The first attempt to print from Excel led to the mistake of page size, but, on a whim, I tried twice and had two successful prints without error. Until further notice, I mark this as solved problem.

    Thanks for your help,
