OfficeJet 6500 will not print black
Hello
I have an Officejet 6500 AIO which allows to print any color over black. We have already replaced the black toner cartridge, ran an alignment (which failed), and 1st and 2nd printhead level cleaning, with no improvement made. I searched online HP even sells no more replacement for this model print heads, and those that I could find other suppliers cost half the price of a new printer.
Anything else I can try before calling, she leaves and replace the whole unit?
Thank you
Dave
If the suggestion of Print_Hint does not resolve the problem, you can try to soak the print head in warm water for a few minutes as described in this post.

My HP officejet 6500 will not print in colour without black. I tried to run diagnostics, turning on/off, changing the cartridge, mop up the cart - ink, withdrawal and the cartridges, printing a test page. All to nothing does not.
I continued to deepen the forum and found what was a soluntion for me. I went to the configuration selected, then went to tools, it chose and then select printhead cleaning. The first time that he clean the printhead, I only got six rectangles colored at the bottom of the test page printed. My screen then asked if I wanted to get another clean process and I said YES. Low and behold, the test print page not only the FCMA out with 6 colored rectangles but also tons of alphabets in black. Hooray! His works again. Hope this works for you.

DeskJet F4480: full black print cartridge still does not print black. Colors OK.
What the title says. All of a sudden my Deskjet F4480 does not print black. All cartridges are almost nine (changed recently, bought at Staples). Colour printing is OK. Print a page with black text and results in only the images printing color images. I only went through all the steps of cleaning cartridge several times, no difference. There is no error message, just black not appear do not at all.
And... Here is the solution.
Funny how I found an explanation of the problem and how to fix it on a different printer manufacturer's Web site, but not on HP... But I digress.
The black cartridge has been blocked. The way of difficulty is:
1. remove the faulty cartridge from the printer.
2. place a small amount of boiling water in a cup (about 1/4 in.) and dunk of the print head (the part where the ink comes out) in warm water for a minute. Do not immerse the entire cartridge in hot water, just the print head.
3 take it out, pat against a paper towel, observe the model ink left in the cartridge on the towel. If too little / interrupted, dunk again in hot water for another minute, pat again. You want to get an unbroken line of ink through the length of the print head. Repeat as needed (I did 4 times total).
4 cartridge Pat dry everywhere, put it back in the printer, run cleaning cycles (1 - 2).
5. If still not good fixed, take out the cartridge and repeat 2 (I had to do it again).
You will lose little ink, cartridge of bad and good a well (you can not run cycles with only 1 cleaning cartridge), but at least you won't have to throw a nearly full cartridge.

HP 3520 while a printer does not print black after changing ink and cleaning head
My 3520 printer all-in-one will not print black after cleaning print head and replacement of black ink. the printer is a little older than a year. All printing inks.
Hi handytim1,
Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are facing some print quality problems on your HP Deskjet 3520, you cleaned the printhead and replace the cartridge without success.
I would like to continue you here: printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages, I understand, you may have made some of these steps already but I need you to complete all the steps in order to solve the problem of the missing black, you encounter.
Please note: there are three stages of print head cleaning. Three steps if necessary. If the print head is badly clogged, it may require another round of cleaning. If so, wait 30 minutes after the last step of cleaning (third) to start the first stage of the cleanup process.
Let me know the results, I'll watch for your reply.
Thank you

Changed the black cartridge would NOT print printhead black, cleaned, aligned over and over again. Two days later, he started printing red for emails when should have been black. Once again cleaned and aligned. Changed the black cartridge XL multiplied by 2. What a wate of money! Page Test Windows printer printed in red. Noticed that the Cyan cartridge was empty when viewing in troubleshooting. Printer has never indicated that cyan was empty. Changed the Cyan cartridge. My printer does not print black. I look and notice that it does not indicate that it stays black in the cartridge. Still, I went and got a new black ink cartridge and it printed the first page in black, but then stop again to print in black. Other colors on paper, but not black.
Hi cheepazoid,
I would start by checking all ink and cartridges of weak levels. I'm a link the user guide for your printer which also contains troubleshooting information. Click here I suggest that you click on Maintenance in the guide and follow the steps to manually clean the ink cartridges and options to automatically clean the cartridges up to 3 times.
Let me know how it goes.
Good luck!

OfficeJet 6500 has windows 7 Pro, does not print black
Black is not printing, the colors are OK. Changed the black cartridge for a new a (genuine HP!), no change. Checked inserted cartridge etc OK.
Tried to open the screen of the wizard to do the alignment, cleans the heads but had the same problem mentioned on another post, the assistant is beyond.
Tried the update of the software 710z, but does not connect via USB. I know that the cable is OK and printer, Windows gave the found new software message.
Went to the HPPIW. EXE installation method, it is OK, but returned to 710f version. Not cleaned heads and alignment no impression always on black background. Tried the diagnosis HPPSdr who told me there is a problem of driver incompatibility. Deleted the entry of control panel of configuration/printers, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled, same problem.
In short, impossible to get 710z to connect via USB. 710f tells me that I have a driver incompatibility. And does not print the problem original, black.
In my view, that covers, all more than welcome advice, this machine is in a store of cats protection Chrity and we desperately need it works again!
Thanks for the advice, given that the machine is under warranty, contact HP and were sent to a replacement machine which works AOK.
