OfficeJet 6500 problems in order to correct the fax number
I tried several times some documents to a fax number. This is the correct fax number. When he composed it said connects, faxes THEN connected to an unknown number. How can I fix? I can't use my fax machine if I can't have connect the correct number. I checked with the company I'm fax too and even if it is the correct number, they do not receive my faxes. I called the number for which my faxes were sent, and it is a person at random. Thanks for the help.
Hi liwarren,
I would like to help. You can answer a few questions?
- Have you tried a hard reset? Click here to see the steps to perform a reset. That makes a difference?
- On the printer, under Setup , then reports, you will find a Printer Status Report. Can you print the report (the report) and situation to give me the product # and the Version of the firmware of the printer?
- Find on the printer Setup , then Tools, Run the Test Fax. If you select and run the test, all pass?
- HP has a number of fax for tests. If you send a fax to him, and he is received, a fax will be automatically sent to you. It may take a few minutes to receive the return fax. If you send a fax to this number, what happens? You receive a fax from HP? The fax number is 1.888.473.2963.

Cannot use the installer for Officejet 6500 all-in-one because of the resolution of the screen
Hello
I thought I could install my new Officejet 6500 as a printer network during the weekend, but apparently, HP had a different opinion...
I use a netbook for my work as I travel a lot. Unfortunately, the screen resolution max available for these computers to wide screen is "limited" to 1024 x 576, which is less than the minimum required by the installation software (800 x 600), so I can't just install drivers and software. I tried to download the drivers from the HP support site, but ran into the same problem again.
I'd appreciate any help I don't have a desktop or a laptop with a ratio of the 'normal' view and I'm stuck with a machine that is "useless"...
Thanks a lot in advance!
Yes. When you get to the window system requirements check, click the button cancel while now the keys Ctrl + Shift. It will bypass the sys. Req. check and continue with the installation. You may need to do this several times for the installation to continue.

HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z how can I send faxes received
I have a HP Officejet 6500 E710n-z set up like the wireless. I want to have all incoming faxes saved directly to my PC and not be printed. I can't find all the information on how to do it. There may be information on the DVD that comes with it, but I can't.
I'm not bad with PC or printer/fax, so guidelines are expected to be fairly easy to follow.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Dan,
I know the message says Windows 8, but it should be able to get your program to open correctly. Download and run the file linked in the thread located here.
Let me know how it goes.

M477fnw MFP: 1 before the fax number
It seems that I have to include a "1" before the area code when sending or receiving faxes on the MFP. If anyone has found is the case?
Does this mean that when I give my fax number, I must point out that a '1' must be included before the rest of the fax number?
Comment
The '1' in front of the phone number has not to do with the printer / fax machine.
The prefix is apparently a requirement of your telephone company service.
In our own metropolitan community located in the West of the United States, we must now dial a digit code a lot just to call someone in the street.
Example:
local prefix, 1 + area code + phone number
1 333 123 4567
The need arose when (333) area codes and phone numbers in a given region (123-4567) have actually been exhausted (too many numbers required for too few available combinations).
From a land line (like the one used in the printer / fax), it is necessary that precede us the '1' and the 'code', followed by the phone number.
In our region, calling from a cell phone / Mobile requires the "indicative" and 7 digit phone number.
Please contact your compay phone / phone service provider for check!

My Officejet 6500 printer will scan only from my computer when there is a usb cable attached. Remove the cable, no sweeping. FRO the last 2 weeks in HP Smart people have been scratching their collective heads trying to solve the problem. Is there anyone else with this problem. Maybe we could all have a collective scratch! 2 weeks of my life on this Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Dear Scratchmyhead,
I have the same problem with the same printer.
Indeed, it is the error through the programming of the two-way communication via Wifi. There is error on HP sid, and they do not have a solution.
There is a simple solution which is somewhat tidious, but it allows you can scan to receive ink levels wireless and wireless.
On your printer, go to;
Configuration > network > view network summary > discovers wirelessOn this page, you will see your printers IP address. Write this down (or remember).
Return to your computer, open a new tab in a web browser. (IE, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
Enter your printer's IP address in the URL bar.
It takes you to a page that says:"Officejet 6500 E710n-z.
It's your "Built-in Web server" printers
If your printer is connected to your network correctly, you should see;

I'm looking for a way to download the latest driver and firmware base packages for my Officejet 6500 E710a-f for Windows 7, x 64 (latest patches and service packs applied).
Regardless of the road I take (including the link called "Download drivers"), finding drivers inevitably leads me to the same page that contains the vertical tabs named 'Troubleshooting', 'How to' and so on and none of the links - not even under 'options to support more' - led to a Basic downloadable driver package. In fact, none of them leads to a downloadable driver package of all kinds. The most that I could find is that package Wizard driver installation that attempts to download the package that I am not interested in-oh and a few mentions in the KB articles downloadable driver packages.
I also tried "Printer Setup, Installation" & Setup and then variously "Installation, install & connect printer ' and 'Software updates' & Firmware, which none offer a downloadable package.
This used to work perfectly fine a few months ago, but now I'm getting round on the same page over and over again. I can not find the basic driver or the software for the printer more.
Where can I find the basic driver package (used about 30 MB in size) in order to avoid the crapware included in the package (130MO) "full feature" more great who gets automatically downloaded to an unknown destination on my hard drive using this driver installation wizard. It's my PC and I want to be the one who decides in which runs when and how. Now I can try to track down the location of download using ProcMon and what not, but it would give me is this package 'feature complete' with a bunch of crapware added on strictly necessary. How to get the base driver package?
Thank you!
Never mind. Fascinating, the "Download drivers" link under the Support tab at the top leads to a different page that the link "search for drivers' next to my question posted .
Both methods require enter the name of the model (after picking "Printers" in the first case) in a similar way, but the former led in circles on the same page with no possibility to download, while the latter one immediately takes me to the downloads, I was looking for.

My new HP Officejet 6500 a does not appear in the printers and faxes
The HP Officejet 6500 a printer is a wireless all-in-one with fax, print, copy, scan. I don't intend to use the fax and who did not put in place. But what displays in the start menu > printers and faxes is the fax but not the printer. So I can't select it is my default printer. This is the main problem.
Which is OK - when I print (with the help of this device or another my printer), since the print page I can select which printer to use and as well the new printer and fax are displayed here.
Misc info: my other (old) printer is HP psc 1300 all in one, is not wireless and includes a fax machine.
I have Windows XP SP 3 v.2002.Hi desert Ginny,
I suggest you to install the drivers by downloading it from the following HP support link and check if it helps:
Download drivers - HP Officejet 6500 has e-all-in-One Printer series
Also, take a look at the following link:
Failed to configure a network printer by default for all Windows XP users
I hope this helps.

Of Scanner all-in-one Officejet 6500 problems
Hello
I have a brand new Officejet 6500 that prints, faxes and copies without fault. It is connected wireless to two different computers. However, for the life of me, I can't scanner at work - and the errors are the same on both computers. No matter what I do, the scanner software opens and begins to work, but the scanner itself doesn't do anything (no noise, nothing) and eventually I get message and error that says "Scanner Error" with a bunch of steps to try to fix. I tried ALL the steps, restart the software, reset the printer, unplug, re - connect, re-boot and even re - install the software - still nothing. Once I even put in place via a USB cable just to make sure it wasn't a wireless issue, and is not; I had all the same mistakes. I spent two hours on the phone with HP tech support and after changing a bunch of firewall and other security settings, still nothing. I don't have anythign fancy; just Windows XP, Windows Firewall, McAfee Suite. Any idea what could possibly be the cause of the errors of the parser and why there is no communication between the computer and the scanner?
After countless hours to suck his soul troubleshooting with alleged HP 'Technical Support', at least I managed to reduce this problem down myself and find a solution that works. I found that the problem of scanning don't occurs if the printer OR the computer is connected to the wireless network.
The solution is to TURN the wireless RADIO and connect to your network via an ethernet cable. Then try to scan with a computer that is connected to the network via an ethernet cable. Note that this will NOT work if each connection - printer to the router - or computer to the router is connected wireless; It takes the two connecitons via an ethernet cable.
This is obviously a software problem that HP does not and will never be resolved. So, if there is no way to connect your AIO to your router with an ethernet cable (for example, if the priter is in another room), you're SOL and should probably try another printer that HP will never solve this problem.

Install HP Officejet 6500 E709n failure - can't see the printer on the network
My HP Officejet 6500 E709n refuses to acknowledge that he is already on the network a specific IP address and used by other computers in my house. How can I get this software install to work? I have to let Windows 7 install its own version, which worked (sort of). I prefer having the center of solutions for scanning, but the HP install software (full version), in contrast to the MS Windows 7 software, can't find the printer on the network, even when I give the software the exact IP address.
(Yes, I uninstalled all the pieces I had to uninstall in Control Panel by the NSB instructions re-re-re-install software page.)
Hi rchimes,
Thank you for the update. If you are unable to get the problem solved after using the doctor print and Scan follow the steps to scrub the software on the computer and then reinstall it.
First step: clear temp directory
1. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field
2 Select all the files in this folder, and then press the delete key to remove. If you receive a message that the file is in use, you will need to ignore this file (s).
3. proceed to step 2 below
Second step: downloaded and extracted to your system:
1 download the drivers and full software features
2. once the download is complete, double-click the file to extract the software.
3. when the installation window opens, press the Cancel button to stop the installation
4. tap folder in the race or search programs and files of field
5. Locate and open the folder starting with 7z (example: 7zS2356)
6. right click on the folder and select copy
7. close this window and all open windows, and then in the Middle the desktop right click your mouse and select Paste. This will move the 7z folder on your desktop.
8 open the 7z, that you just copied on your desktop
9 open the Util folder
10 open the CCC folder
11 start the uninstall_L4
12. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
13. run disk cleanup from the tools Accessories\ system under all programs folder
14. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
http://www.Adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
15 open the 7z folder and then double-click the Setup.exe file that will be towards the bottom of the open window. Follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall your printer.
Let me know what you find?
