• Help! Computer connection issues / printer after Windows 7 upgrade

  I HOPE THAT SOMEONE HERE CAN HELP ME!  I am frustrated beyond belief.

  I have upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.  My computer is a hp dv5 pc, 64-bit.  My wireless printer is a hp OfficeJet J4680c.  Before the upgrade, wireless printing was perfect.

  Since the upgrade, when I try to print, two things will happen:

  (1) when I try to print, there is a mistake that the document cannot print.

  OR

  (2) when I try to print, the printer icon appears that the document will print, but nothing happens.  When I right click and open the Active printer, it shows that it is "printing", however the number of pages displayed is n/a.  After 2-3 minutes, the document simply disappears from the print screen, as if it printed.

  I went through the troubleshooting steps on my hp PC help & support, I have read the forums for hours and tried various fixes, I went through the center of solutions hp printer troubleshooting steps...

  The final diagnosis is that the computer is unable to 'find' the printer. Here is some additional information:

  I was able to print occasionally during the troubleshooting process (see below for more information)

  All the drivers are up to date.

  Computer and the printer are connected to the same network wireless in my house.

  It didn't reinstall the ATL update, it reinstalled 2005 Redistributable. So now, I have 2005 and 2010 x 86 both. And it says that two dates installiation are two days after I installed the 2010.   OK, in some way I came across this solution... it's dark.  I was clicking on one of the files exe failed due to a missing in the PSE file MSVCP110.dll file.  I downloaded Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2012 update 4 and selected 'fix' for this program.  Voila - it works now.
