OfficeJet 7612 - scanning in the Yosemite Mac problem

Hello

A few days ago, I bought an all-in-one OfficeJet 7612 and from the beginning I am not be able to scan to the computer (only to emails or usb).

It's what I've tried and I get:

  1. Install the drivers and full software from the CD provided with the product: It appears to turn on the option scan to the computer . But whenever I try to do, a message in the iMac says: could not establish a connection with the printer.
  2. Download the last update on the HP driver support site: He always says that to computer scan cannot be enabled, and that I should download and install the latest driver.
  3. Installation using AirPrint printer: It recognizes the printer and even the fax feature, but never the scanner.

I don't no what to do, it looks like there is no full support for my 7612 in Yosemite.

Can anyone help me?, I'm doing something wrong?

OK, I managed to do this work, that's what I did:

  1. Uninstall the HP driver through the uninstall program that comes with it.
  2. I deleted these two files from the: < youruserhere > /Users//Library/Preferences
  • com.apple.print.custompresets.forprinter.Officejet_7610_series.plist
  • com HP. DeviceMonitor.plist
  1. Restart the iMac (I don't know if that helped, but I did anyway).
  2. Install the printer using AirPrint.

I deeply thank RnRMusicMan who was helping me through all this time trying to make this work.

I hope this can help someone who found this problem too.

I tried the fix in the forum for the officejet which will not sweep with yosemite.    I used the driver for 8600 officejet Yosemite.   I restarted the router, computer and printer.  I also struggle with the print function.  Every day, I have to turn off the printer market to find the computer.  I have a macbook pro computer running OS X 10.10.2

It's very frustrating!  Help, please!  Thank you!!

    Hey there @texasjane!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I should be able to provide assistance with the issue between you and your Officejet 8600 scan Mac OS X 10.10. You mentioned that you have already installed the full features of HP Officejet 8600 software but still have no success.  Your also get some printing problems.  The Mac indicates that the printer is offline when you try to print?

Its possible that an update is available for the Mac on the HP software.  I recommend checking the Mac to make sure it's his print more up-to-date and scan drivers.  To check the updates simply click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen.  Once your in the Apple menu, select App Store.  Within the App Store, you can click updates at the top of the window.  Check and install the HP updates that may be available.

I suggest try to analyze using one of the construction in Mac as Capture of Image applications.  If there are problems with the HP on Mac 10.10 software then you may be able to bypass them with Image capture.  Image capture may be located in your Applications folder on a Mac.  You can also find it by linking the Image Capture in the Mac spotlight.  Spotlight is the magnifying glass at the top right of the screen.

If please, after back and let me know how it goes!

I hope this has been helpful!

  • OfficeJet 5740: officejet 5740 - scan of the computer cannot be activated - cause communication error

2 weeks ago, I bought a HP officejet 5740 - installed the software and everything worked well. Unfortunately, the printer is dead, and I just got a new.  In order to start to 'clean up', I removed all HP on the Mac software - and then installed the printer. I can print - and scan using progtram analysis. The printer is connect via ethernet.

This left me with 2 numbers

    (1) for installation, Setup fails when I reached the setting of alerts (communication error - please restart the program) try to configure alerts in HP utility fail - even once to the criticism fail - restart program

    (2) I'm not able to activate the scan of the computer on the Mac.  I get "communication failed" when I try to turn on the feature in HP utillity

    What I tried

Delete all HP software (several times) and reinstall it again - still the same problem

I removed the HP software and used the diskutillity to fix the rights - and reinstalled him brand new - still same problem.

I have reset the printingsystem on the mac - still the same problem

I still think it's weird - because everything worked great with the first printer I had! -replace it with a similar one caused the problem.  And this isn't the printer - because scan to computer works with my wife PC

I have run out of ideas - and hopes that someone can solve this problem!

Thank you for your reply - the problem is now resolved.  It seems that when you run Uninstall HP also something with the printerdrives provided by Apple update. I noticed that version 3.1 was installed on March 2, when I installed the first printer, I bought (the one who broke down) in all my tests, uninstalling and installing the drivers, I have checked apple update, it says no new updates, but last night he said suddenly that there was an update and then it reienstalled the 3.1 drivers HP again - and surpirice the problem has been solved.

Thank you for your quick response!

  • HP OfficeJet 7612: Scanning through questions flat

    Good day to all,

I am a technician to the printer of the client who has been recently bought and installed. Insofar as the drivers and Setup, everything was a success and the customer, but also the other members of the staff were all able to print and scan. Analysis via the touchscreen interface was successful as well as scanning HP desktop utility.

I recently received a call from the client yesterday, indicating problems when you try to scan A3 paper through the plateau. The document analysis but for some reason, he will be absent from the parts of the original document. It will not analyze the full length and width of the document. What happens when analysis via the touch screen interface; "Scan to PC".  has started to solve problems using my MacBook Pro (no one was using a desktop PC and using my camera allowed me to be the printer as well as not disturb the customer to do its job).

When I did a scan on the A3 document via my Macbook, he did the samething. So I expanded (if I remember correctly) this 'more details' button that allowed me to choose the size of the scanning, which then allowed the analysis complete of the A3. I went to the Office of customer and analyzed through the utility that has given a proper analysis of the document. I then went back to the interface touchscreen, to digitize and curiously, the scan came out good. There is no option to select the size of the (as far as I've seen) so I didn't pay anything. I made repeated sweeps and they came out all now own. It affected also copy A3 documents because the scan took the whole docment. I made a copy and he now printed the entire document successfully.

For me, it was a little confusing because all of a sudden, it's working fine now and I know that I did nothing. So when troubleshooting another question, there, I took the officer's cell phone to test. I decided to test the scanning on the laptop as well as with the A3 document via the touch screen, and the same problem occurred. The scan using the HP utility on the laptop produces a correct analysis. Did the scan via the touch screen, and the scan came out good.

So what I did to get a document format letter to analyze the cause I have a theory that I wanted to test. Analysis of the doc size letter, via Scan to PC on the printer , product, if you want, an A3 size scan. The digitized document correctly letter size, but there was like a white around the document border, creating for the missing part of an A3 size document. I scan on the laptop via the HP utility and selected the letter size, carried out the analysis and it came out good. Going back to the printer to use the scan to PC has produced a correct analysis of a PDF letter size. I then put in the A3 and did the Scan to PC again and it has not produced an appropriate analysis in question. That the part of the letter of the A3 document was scanned.

    Conclusion:

Analysis via the tools on the PC, gives a successful analysis. Whereas, the scan to pc via the interface on screen touchscreen printer gives the question. If a person did a scan of the letter, and then a second person scan an A3, the printer scans only the part of the letter of A3 paper. If someone did a scan of the letter after a previous A3 scan, the paper will be scanned but the extra part of the A3, will be seen as a huge white border.

For me as a technician speaking and seeing that this issue is irritating (shocking but always irritating) and much more for those who use the printer to scan; so you can imagine the mindset they are whenever they try to do their analysis and deal with this problem.

I overlooked anything? Is there something that can be done about it? Thank you :-)

Hi ou81aswell, welcome to the forums.

I saw your post about losing your computer option scan. I have some suggestions for you. I can't guarantee a difficulty, however, of course I'll try!

On your Windows 7 machine and your machine Windows 8.1: run the HP printer install wizard for Windows which will install the appropriate drivers.

In addition, reset the printer and make sure it is plugged directly into a wall outlet. Avoid power bars, etc.

    Let me know what happens!

    Hi @JOGL,

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

I understand that computer analysis can not be activated as well as the scan and combine them into a single pdf document. With your printer HP Officejet 7610. I am pleased to see that for you!

At this time for this model. There is no software and drivers for Mac OS X 10.12 again, given that the operating system has just been launched, it could take some time. For the time being, you can try to use HP Easy Scan to see if that can meet your scanning preferences. In otherwise, all we can do is wait for the software and drivers to be released.

The computer function scanning work with Mac OS.

Make sure to install the latest software of full functionality for your HP and not the original CD operating system that is not compatible with Lion.

Be sure to select the Software from HP recommended during installation.

    http://FTP.HP.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40131/MP-97865-2/OfficeJet-Pro-8600-series_v12.14.0.dmg

Once finished the day, be sure to install any update available HP by clicking the Apple icon, then the about this Mac.

If you reffer scanning to a function of a record network, the\ do not currently have supported by Lion because of the issue of the BONE.
