The HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8600 printer is on our home wireless network. My wife and I have laptop with Windows 7. Us print wireless. The printer does not print, but gives us a message on the printer and on our computer screens:

"Failure of the printer. There is a problem with the printer or the ink system. »

He told us to reset by unplugging. We have reset several times by unplugging and putting the system power on and off. I ran the HP print and Scan doctor and the troubleshooting tools. I uninstalled and reinstalled the HP software. I downloaded all the drivers available.

I also took the print head and it reintroduced following the instructions to check the clotting, ink, etc. I also searched inside paper jams.

It scans the computer Wizard HP ok. Cannot copy because we cannot pass the error message on the printer screen.

Done everything but replace the print head. Nothing has worked. Print head is $ 120, so I'm going to buy a new printer for that price. Thx for your good help.

  • How can I control cleaning print head automatically each time my Officejet Pro 8500 a Premium starts?

In general we really like our new Officejet, but we are very frustrated by the automatic startup procedure.  Whenever it is turned on, it performs a self check and then clean the print heads.  This is awkward for two reasons: 1) we want to print quickly, do not wait for 5 minutes.  (2) we are concerned that all this cleaning using our valuable ink.

We recently had to replace all the print color cartridges, and I think that one of the causes of the impoverishment of the other, it was all this cleaning.

    We use HP cartridges.

It is possible that this printer is scheduled for an office environment where it remains just on 24 x 7.   For our occasional use, we have normally turn it on when we need them and turn it off when we're done. If the consumption is low enough (less than 5 watts) I would consider let on as the shape of a possible workaround.

I did my best to search for FAQ and comments to see if there is already an answer to this question - but could not find one.

OK Bob, looks like that this printer is really designed to work 24 / 7, so I guess that's what I have to do.  If I knew when I bought it, it is likely that I would have gone for a different printer.

  • Alone cyan little showing what cleaned print head - Pro L7680

I tried "cleaning ' my impression runs a dozen times, and each time, I see only small horizontal lines of color cyan in the appropriate boxes. There is much ink in the cartridges. The all-in-one OfficeJet Pro L 7680 use cartridges without print heads. Ink is supplied to the printheads through flexible tubes. Unless there is an easy solution, I might need to remove the printheads and dip them in hot water, but I'll need a primer on how to open the cover, then remove them.

I doubt it makes a difference, but a few months ago, I upgraded my able 5 year old PC, 64-bit Vista 32 bit to 64 bit of Windows 8 Pro. I have some problems of compatibility, but it seems to work very well

Here is a link that will provide you with instructions on how to replace and install cartridges and printheads. Before cleaning the print heads, I'd watch this document first of all it does not address the issues of print quality for your printer model. Just look at it and see if there are all the additional steps that you might have not already tried.  Pages 147-150 user manual pointed out how manually clean the print head. I would check the date of warranty on the print head before dipping as which can void the warranty on parts. If this date has passed, the soaking will be no danger as replacement would be the only other option left.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600: Cleaning printer heads

I replaced my magenta cartridge with an original 951XL. When I print the magenta ink is streaked. I did 3 cleanings of procedure and nothing has solved this problem. Now the yellow begins to do the same.  After the execution of a progress report on the system of distribution of ink they are still coming striated. The print head may be failed? Thank you

    Hey @Zen540,

Thanks for getting back to me on this subject. I'm sorry to hear that the steps I provided could not solve your problem of print quality.

The mechanism of the print head at a cost of e-all-in-one printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 about 150 US $. And there is always the possibility that in your HP Officejet printing system could be defective. Therefore, if you install a new print head and it fails to solve the problem, that a replacement printer would be necessary.

At this point, I would recommend reaching out to the Technical Support queue by phone to explore the additional hardware options.

  • OfficeJet Pro X476W - missing 0xc6fd0013 message, or incorrectly installed print head not detected,

Hi, everything has been good with this printer up to a couple of days. Whist, the right kind of noises - it just stopped printing, or sometimes {in response to requests for print) spat a blank page or both.

I tried to clean the print head, but he travels just a loop and does nothing, if the wall point, deleted and reinserted cartridge, removed market turned and replaced the duplex roller, blah blah - all the usual stuff.

But... I've never seen such a script error before - this is worrying. The printer just died on me?

If so, is it possible to replace the printhead on one of them?

No indication of how to solve the problem please?

    Thanks in advance...

I couldn't find a service manual for the OJ Pro x476w or the other.  It is usually the case for OfficeJet products but I was under the assumption that HP was poised to release a service manual for the X Pro series since his business are more than the normal OJ.

I also don't seem to be able to view the guide to normal use of the HPs site right now.  My hope was to search through it for clues as to how to complete the resettlement of the print heads, as there is usually a section small maintnenance included in the documentation.

Given the nature of this problem and what I heard of HP engineers that the printhead from the printer table must have a life that survives to the printer.  It is supposed to be enough printheads on eachother table backup in the case of breakdowns that users are not supposed to notice the difference.  Even through the printer is out of warranty HP may be interested in helping you with the picture of the print head.  I give them a call and see if they can offer any assistance.

Another idea would be to find a seller of parts and ask them if they have an array of replacement for your printer print head.  If they could have some instructions on how to install that you could use to reinstall your current table.  Googling autour, I was not able find parts online so this is perhaps a good reason to call HP and ask for suggestions on where to find spare parts.

  • OfficeJet 4630: brand new officejet 4630 with the problem of black ink and ok button does not work

Hello! Today, I bought a new printer, officejet 4630 and it included ink cartridges in the box.

ISET it upward as the sheet in the box said. After I had filled in date etc, I put in the ink (and Yes, remember to check it was compatible and take the Ribbon), then this message showed on the screen and still doesn't work:

"Problem of ink cartridges. The following ink cartridges need to be replaced"and a black dot.

The cartridges were brand new and came in the same area as the printer.

I tried a reset (taking the power cord, wait 60 s etc) I saw in the Hp support you need to press 'ok' to get rid of the message before restarting. I can't press ok. It sounds right. I press any button.

Suggestions? Of course, I can try it with a new cartridge, but to pay $20 for a new cartridge, when it was included in the box and should work is not correct.

  • HP Officejet 7500 E910: Cleaning print head

I understand that the printer starts a sequence of cleaning from time to time, which uses ink. I wonder what is happening to the ink. It moves to a "cesspool" of sorts, and whether itself needs cleaning occasionally?

    Thanks if anyone can help.

Officejet 7500 has been evaluated for a duty cycle of up to 7000 pages per month.  With a standard 12 month warranty, this would imply a guaranteed page 84K service.

Personally, I would not add a drain system, there are probably other things that would wear until the capacity of the station would become a problem.  (For example, the coding Strip would probably need cleaning or replacement, see the post here)

I suggest do things to minimize ink spit in the service station:

    • Keep the printer plugged in to an outlet. If an external passes as an output switch is used more ink will be used at startup.
    • Don't run don't not cleaning cycles since the Panel Toolbox or before if necessary (very rare).
  • Hi, I get the message "ink clean printer tasks. What should I do?

The document I am trying to print is a pdf from Adobe.  I use Mac 10.7.1 my printer is a HP PHotosmartC4795.

I have run all the utilities of various cleaning and tried to come to the front with a paper towel.  I don't know where the alleged "tasks" or how to clean them.  Any help?

Well, I just tried to print another document and a print very well.  I put the original pdf to a flash drive and it took a photocopy shop.  They said there was some encryption and they couldn't print it.  Apparently, the message "ink blots" did indicate a quite different problem.  The good news is that the printer works.  I'll have to contact the person who sent me the pdf of a fine the reasons for which its encrypted.  Thanks again for your time.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: software the Printer Wizard does nothing and eats CPU

    Hello

I currently have a problem with the HP printer Assistant software. I use a HP Officejet Pro 8600. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, redownloaded the latest version of the software from the HP site, tried with a wireless connection and a USB connection, but still have this same problem.

The problem is when I open the printer to the printer Assistant software (scan, definition of printing preferences, etc.) nothing loads and what I noticed is that in the Task Manager, the program is constantly, nonstop to duplicate in the Task Manager and eventually slow down the computer because of the high use of the processor of these duplicates. I can't stop these processes in time compared to the amount of tasks in doubles at this very moment, and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8.1 and so I've upgraded to Windows 10 but exactly the same problem occurs. If I wait long if I get an error (0xc0000142) telling me that I can not load the Printer Wizard, but the process will still duplicate.

I tried using the printer with other computers, but they do not have a problem by launching the wizard from the printer. I wonder what is happening and why is the Printer Wizard launch multiple neverending himself as tasks on the Task Manager?

Add to that, printing works fine, it is train to launch the Printing Assistant software that is causing the problem.

    Hello @jellyjr,
  • HP officejet pro 8500 a909g: print heads

my printer has stopped printing in black ink, even if the ink level is more than half full.  Ran "clean print head" and he ran forever.  Still not printing or copying in black.  color copy.

    Hey @ahornplayer58,

I would like to help you to solve the problem that you experience when you try to print in black ink of your HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One Printer today. Thank you for troubleshooting that you have completed before reaching out for support, including. Right now, it sounds like you have a defective black cartridge or defective printhead. In this model of printer, you have two print heads. There is a printhead magenta and cyan and a black and Yellow Printhead. If a replacement black cartridge fails to resolve your printing delivers a replacement black and Yellow Printhead may be necessary. Saying that, there are still a few troubleshooting steps that we can try before replacing anything. Can I please you follow the steps below.

To start, please click here to access the troubleshooting steps. Once the support document opens please run through the solutionand four Solution. This includes all sub-steps under the two alternatives. A print head cleaning may be run up to three times to resolution. If you make three Printhead clean nothing helps, please do not proceed with any additional cleaning ink is used to clean the print head system, and you will just be wasting ink if you want to go forward.

If the problem persists, the next step listed would be to replace the black and Yellow Printhead. However, it is never a bad idea to first try a black cartridge.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

    Hello everyone,

the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

    1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
    2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

    At this point, I ask:

    1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
    2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

I hope that a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone will help me!

Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.
