OfficeJet 8600 printing blank envelopes

SW: Windows 8 Pro 64-bit, office 2013

My new OfficeJet Pro 8600 prints empty envelopes. The diagram in the feeder indicates that the envelope should be centered on the length, face down. Word indicates contrasting, face down but positioned on the left side on the status bar. In Word, you can adjust the Center parameter.

I have tried every combo and my printer goes through the motions and an empty envelope out.

The people of HP support told me to return the printer even after I explained to him that it is a widespread problem. I suppose that technicians in India have Google. As I do support me I can tell you it's the laziest answer when it comes to troubleshooting. They did not yet offer another suggestion - just that my printer is broken.

HP must spend a fortune on items returned if it's the first line of defence standard reply. Maybe if they hired professionals trained in this country, they might even do save a bundle on all of these declarations of erroneaous! Hey - what a concept - trained from people might actually be a good idea!

Any suggestions to stop other than the purchase of HP products? Thank you very much!

Hi, try the following.

In the 8600 printing preferences, select "Paper/quality" and then under "Paper size", select "envelope #10".»
Apply the changes and exit.
In Microsoft Office Word.
Select the envelopes are centered in the taskbar and select the envelope size #10.

A reminder to make sure that the 8600 firmware is up-to-date.

  • HP OfficeJet 8600: Print using black ink only

We use our printer as a copier only.  It is not connected to a computer.  Why do the color cartridges run out of ink and we cannot print black print.  We print any documents using color.  Is it possible to turn on the black only?

Sorry, but the HP Officejet Pro 8600 has separated from the inks and printheads and requires that all inks are available to avoid damage to the print head.

You can minimize the ink used with the following steps:

    • Use draft mode when the quality is sufficient.  Draft mode uses about half the ink or Normal or best mode.
    • Power switch of the printer only allows to turn off the printer.  If an external switch (as a protector or output impulse) is used more ink will be used at startup.

HP and other printer manufacturers have technology another printer for different needs.  For ink jet printers:

    • Some have integrated into the ink cartridges print heads.  These printers can print generally with one or more of the colors completely empty, or even with color or black cartridges (but not both) removed. The Officejet 8040 has us an example.
    • Other printers have separate replaceable printheads and inks.  An example would be the printer Officejet 8600.  In these printers print head can be replaced if they are damaged by running the printhead with colors off.  Some of these printers allow printing with a color, the other will not.  If the printer is run without ink in one or several colours, the printer may be damaged, but the user may be able to recover without having to send to the printer for the service.
    • Other printers have permanent print heads.  To run only those without little ink in all colours would risk causing damage to the print head because of clogs, air ingested in the printhead or grilled printhead resistances of shooting. The Officejet 6700 is an example of this type of printer. For printers with fixed print heads that could require the service to get the printer to print properly again when the ink is finally replaced.

The document described here how the ink is used.  The document is written for inkjet printers HP the same principles apply to printers inkjet from other manufacturers.

If you do ever print color laser printer would probably be a better choice.  If you occasionally print color but especially black a HPI printer as those in the first category above can be a good choice.

  • HP Officejet 6300 - printing blank pages...?

    Hello world

I have a HP Officejet 6300 that I installed the ink successfully and aligned cartridges but when printing its just empty pages... Ive done a clean place and that made no difference.

One thing is that the color innk cartridge is empty but the black ink cartridge is full... I gave instructions to print in gray scale, assuming one would use the black ink cartridge...

For some reason if I remove the empty color cartridge the printer displays the ink cartridge missing message... ghoulish I on increase this?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Concerning

    Natalie

I'm sorry you have a problem with the printer, printing blank pages.

No, there is no way you can replace the error message.

Most printers will not work without all the cartrides with ink.

Color cartridges mix with black to make a true black color. It is an older model of printer. Some older printers can print without the color cartridges. Not sure if this is one of them.

  • All-in-one OfficeJet 8600: printer to the computer scan error message

    Hello

I'm on Windows 10 and have updated my HP drivers and I have NOT of PROBLEMS I scan a document to my computer.

But I get, every so often, a message background - black disaster mistake, bright yellow triangle - who says my priner can not scan to my computer. There is no HP identifier on the message.

It seems that some malware that missed Bitdefender. Any ideas on whereI can find and eliminate?

    Thank you

    Greg

    Valdavidian

It is a mistake on the part of Windows. He thinks that the printer has lost the connection, when in fact, the connection is always ther.

I have networked printers at home, and I usually see this message once a day.

When I then click on the desktop icon to check the problem, the routine is able to communicate with the printer without any problems.

My printers are connected by a cable to a switch ethernet, so I KNOW that the connection has not been ignored.

It doesn't seem to be a way to STOP Windows generates this message.

  • All-in-one Officejet 8600: margin cut envelopes #10

I've had the problem before: the left margin cut off the address on the envelopes #10 in MS Word.  Someone helped me to solve the problem, it was a solution involved, but worked like a charm, until my computer crashed.  The notice indicated that it was a problem of softward.  I can't seem to find this thread, so I thought I would try again.  I've seen other "solutions", but they are crazy workaround and may cause other problems.

Anyone know if this problem has been successfully resolved?  How?

    Hi @Schnelldaniels,

I understand your left margin is the cup of the text and you had this problem in the past. I can find the thread you were talking: Re: Photosmart HP 6520 recognize envelopes in Word for Mac.

If this isn't the one, perhaps, you will find the thread if you check your profile, that's how I found this one: Schnelldaniels messages.

Of course, if you are unable to find the solution you are looking for, or if you do and it does not work this time, let me know and I'll help you with your settings.

  • OfficeJet 8600: Printer is on but inactive on laptop and cannot print. How can I print?

My printer has been set up and I have downloaded all the drivers and followed the instructions, but I still cannot print.   I ran a test page and print it from the internet, but I can't print from my laptop.  It says that the printer is in sleep mode and I have tried all movement of the printer and connect the usb cable.  Is there another way to get my laptop and printer to "talk" to each other?

    Hello

You can try to remove the printer and add a second time to see if this helps to get a better connection. Open the Preferences tab, then on the printer/scanner tab and use the sign less under the printer icon to remove the printer and then add again using the sign.

  • HP Officejet 8600 more print and scan problems

    Hello

I had my HP officejet 8600 more for 2-3 years and always had problems following and just kept reinstalling the drivers as a quick fix. I am now starting a business from home and I have no time to deal with printing and scanning the questions and, of course, my warranty has expired! My operating system is OS X version 10.9.4.

When I scan to my computer, the printer indicates "not found computer." The status of my mac is no different than when I scanned a document a few days ago! Remove and reinstall the drivers solves this problem temporarily but I want it fixed permanently.

In addition, when printing, sometimes a page can print immediately and at other times, it may take 5-10 minutes to print even if its status is 100% full in the print queue - even once, reinstall the drivers is a quick fix but I want a permanent solution.

Any help to solve these problems would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you very much...

You can go through the printer manual to know how to set up the printer and make it work.

  • Printer (n911a) e-all-in-one HP Officejet 8600: higher margins when printing Pages

    I use a Hp Officejet 8600 (N911a) e-all-in-one model.

    Windows 7 64-bit SP1

The printer is updated to the latest versions of firmware and software.

Browsers: IE 10, Firefox Google Chrome 32 26

It is using wireless (wireless router)

When I try to print something, she often prints too large

(for example, when you print a coupon, he eventually print half left of the coupon because half right extends beyond the margin of page). You can only print coupons a limited number of times.

I am able to change the print size in IE 10 by right-clicking > print preview > and size reduction before you print it. Firefox is always printed on the margins.

I tried using the print Hp and Scan troubleshooting utility doctor. It found no errors.

Note: this problem is not occue when I choose to print to a different printer (HP LaserJet Professional M1217nfw MFP)

I am a student, so I insist a lot on this printer. All advice is appreciated.

    Thank you!!!

  • HP officejet 8600 wireless printing error

My HP officejet 8600 wireless 1 page prints at once.  Anything larger than a page and I got an error message.  Recently upgraded from WINDOWS 8 to 8.1 - no improvement.  Very frustrating! It would really appreciate advice...

    Hello dabadia,

I'm sorry to hear that your 8600 Officejet will print a single page at a time after your upgrade to 8.1 Win. I would like to help you and give you my best advice.

I recommend running HP Print and doctor to analyze first to find and fix common printing problems.

If this does not resolve the problem, I recommend then Uninstall the printer, restart your computer and reinstall the software using the Printer Wizard install for Windows.

Good luck, I hope this works for you!

  • HP Officejet 8600: No photo printing

My Hp officejet 8600 will display the text but no pictures.  He told me my printer does not communicate with the printer, I can print a text very well.

How is the connected printer - USB, wired LAN or wireless? What program are you printing from?

I suggest going into Word (you have one) and paste a picture into a document with text.  Try to print to it.  If it prints OK I suspect the settings of the printer for the program that you use to print photo is perhaps not properly configured.

If a Word document with a photo and text does not print http://www.hp.com/go/tools diagnostics can help solve the problem.
