OfficeJet 8630: 8630 adf, printing a down line scan or copy pages.

When you use the feature of copying or scanning with the ADF, the printer prints a line to the bottom of the page about 1 and 1/2 "from the margin. It prints this line from the left margin to the right margin on even pages and odd number pages.

I've had this printer for about 2 weeks now, and it was working fine until today.

Hello brownp69,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you have a problem with a line down on the side of impressions when you make copies with the adf.

I've seen this problem before and I was able to resolve the issue quiet easily by doing two simple steps.

First of all, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a bar/power strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer for example, but it is intended for HP products in general. Please click the link which explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

Just so you know, product HP have built in surge protector and when you have the device connected to a power strip/bar, the printer can not get all the power, he needs to work properly and this can cause problems with the adf.

If you open the cover to expose the surface of the glass, you will see a thin strip of glass to the left.  Please, use a lint cloth and a clear glass cleaner and clean this area.  On the lower part of the cover directly above the thin strip of glass, you will see a thin white strip of plastic.  Please clean this white band as well.

Try another copy and write me back with the results.

Thanks for your time.

See you soon,.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium: Printer leaves black lines during copy and scan from ADF

I know this question has been asked several times, but whenever I try to copy or scan from the automatic document feeder, it leaves black lines on the copy (with the document on the works of glass like a charm).  I've read through the forums and have tried the advice to unplug the machine and so on, but none of these suggestions work.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey @Huskers1,

Welcome to the HP's Support Forum!

I see that you have some problems with a line when copying from the document on your Officejet 8600 Premium feeder e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Get a little water and a lint cloth.
    2. Open the left upper part of the printer, where the document since the charger goes into the printer. It should open up as you opened a book.
    3. With your damp cloth wipe the rubber stamp, the rollers in the cover and the casters on the bottom of this section.
    4. Again open the left side of the printer, as you opened a book.
    5. With your damp cloth, wipe the rollers, you will find inside this section.
    6. Close the upper sections of the printer and open the flat section.
    7. With your damp cloth wipe the rollers and the white bar you see on top of the printer
    8. Clean the glass on the left side of the printer.

Once all the pieces you cleaned dry, please let me know the results. If you remove the line, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • printer is not showing is not newly installed; color cartridges It prints well but not scan or copy

I installed new color cartridges, but they do not appear as such in the display panel printer, which continue to save empty color cartridges.

The printer test page was perfect.  However, the printer is neither scanner nor fax, nor can I access the installation options.

Sorry you have a problem with scanning and copying after putting the new cartridge in the printer.

What kind of printer you have?

You can try to perform a hard reset on the printer. Unplug the power cord at the back of the printer. Leave for 30 seconds and plug it back.

You can also clean the print head because it can read the contacts on the new cartridge wrong.

The printer may be opposed to the paper-Kodak or it can be lost if the media type has been selected for HP Photo paper (and you are not identical).

Assuming that you have installed the complete functionality for the printer software:

You can try to select printing options > type of media as "other Photo papers.

    Example:

Open the image / photo in pictures

    Click settings «...» ' > select print

Adjust the paper size and media type parameter >

    Adjust other settings > Print

  • OfficeJet 6700: ADF works only when you scan not copy

Our officejet 6700 has an irrational problem - will take the ADF and scanning a document using the pc without problem, but if load you something using the function copy on the machine itself, he acknowledges that he is a responsible original, you hit copy and is not feeding the sheet through and copy from scratch!

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello @edtech,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you are not able to use the ADF on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium to make Copies, but you can use it to perform a scan.

I would like you to do a hard reset:

    1. disconnect all cables and cards of memory in the printer. Unplug the power cord, directly from the back of the printer when the printer is still on.

    2. unplug the other end of the power cord.

    3. If there is a power supply on the power cord, disconnect one end and reconnect it.

    4. at the end of 60 seconds, plug it directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector or battery backup because they can cause the printer to lose over time basic functionality).

    5. connect the power cord to the back of the printer.

    6. the printer should automatically power back upward. If not, turn it on with the power button.

    7. try to make a photocopy (if your printer is a printer all in one) before you connect the cables from the printer.

    8. connect the other cables needed to the printer.

Are now able to make a copy using the ADF? If you are still unable to make a copy, you will need to contact our technical support at www.hp.com/contacthp/. • HP Officejet 6700 Premium all -: print OK, but not scan

I just replaced my old HP computer with a Windows 7 Professional 750-055xt HP computer and my printer scans is no longer. When I hit the scan button I get this message: "open the HP utility. Under scan settings, click Scan to the computer and make sure Enable Scan to computer is selected. "I don't know where to find the HP utility, so I am dead in the water. Any ideas where I could find it?

HP technicians could not track down the problem by using the remote, so I took my computer and printer to the Geek Squad at best buy. The GS has found a couple of infections that prevent the printer to install the required software. Once the infections have been wiped out and the software installed, everything was fine. All in one day.

    Hi Experts,
In OBIEE 11.1.1.6.0, I have a report contains more than one line. "When I click on" PDF "Print", the last line of each table page line will be missing. " Why?
Are you facing the same case? How soluve this question? Thank you.

    Hey Kobe,

The question, looks lke a bug. Here's the work around, change the table view, click the properties of content next to the text "Table" (at the top of the columns and measures) in the layout-> position In Border pane to choose custom and select only the bottom edge (horizontal line). Now export to pdf format, you must see the border for the last row on each page.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8630: Test Print "error - printing".

    Hello

I have problems printing in the main printer in my office, the HP Officejet Pro 8630. Some work colleagues print to this printer without problem, and others have gave up on it as well. I have no printing problem with HP Officejet Pro 8600 to an office close to home.

I have finally connected to this printer manually, using its IP address, because it does not appear in the search "add a printer". When I try to do a test print, in the print queue of the printer window, it shows its status as 'Impression' for a brief moment before changing to "error - printing".

Honestly I don't know what else to do without disturbing the few people who are successfully using this printer. I hate my work colleague whenever I need to use their printer bug.

    Hi @klewald,

I want to help you with printing problems you encounter. I understand that you can not print, but your colleagues can. I am convinced that I will be able to help you find a solution, and I ask only that pay you it forward. When address us the issue, I would you kindly mark the appropriate post as accept as Solution so that others have the same or similar problem can find what worked for you.

In my opinion, the best approach is to start to run printing HP and doctor Scan because if it does not solve the problem, he could at least help to identify the root cause and point us in the right direction.

Printing HP and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including but not limited to:

  • OfficeJet 8630 "an error has occurred in printing"

New OfficeJet 8630 on a wired network.  I installed the software on Windows 7 x 64, everything seemed to go OK.  But when you try to print, I get the message "an error has occurred while printing" and nothing comes out.

HP Print and Scan Doctor shows no errors and the test page prints correctly.

When I go into the properties of the printer and look at the port, the description is "rediscovery HP port monitor.  Try to configure this port produces the message "an error occurred during port configuration.  Impossible operation completed (error 0x0000007b).

I can connect with the browser to the IP address of the printer and everything works fine.  Just print and the configuration of the port do not work.  I have yet to try the other functions.

I tried to restart after these tests, without change.

I also deleted all software (via Add/Remove Programs), rebooted and reinstalled the software, without success.

Another nitpick - when I installed the software the first time, he showed the devices page and printers "HP Officejet Pro 8630 (network).  The second time I install it, the printer is listed as "Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8630 (network).  Both had the same options in the menu options - but why the name change?

    Hey @jstuckle,

In a commercial environment, the consumer level home and Home Office HP Officejet Pro 8630 e-all-in-one printer may be not the best choice for high quality OCR scans. The 8630 Officejet Pro is provided with a trial version of the software ReadIris pro OCR scanning. But as I said, this is only a trial. If you need high quality with all the features OCR scans you might focus on the full version of the OCR Readiris software: Readiris 14: OCR software

I'm sorry that the 8630 Officejet is not adapted to your needs. However, I appreciate all the time you spent trying to solve your driver conflicts. Also, thank you for your patience throughout this process.

If you want to explore other options that can be put at your disposal, I would recommend contacting the Technical Support queue by phone.

  • Single line vertical when using the ADF to Scan or copy on HP Officejet Pro 8600

Printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium (CN577A)

    OS: MS 7 64-bit

When you use the ADF for my printer HP CN577A Officejet Pro 8600 Premium, I get a single vertical line on the document which is produced. This occurs when copying or scanning, both black and white and in color. If I scan or copy using the glass, I do not get the vertical line.

I already tried troubleshooting.  I unplugged the printer, left without electricity for several minutes; that didn't fix the problem.  Then, I cleaned the rollers and glass; I always get the vertical line, but only when using the ADF.

My firmware version is up to date (CLP1CN1150CR).

    What should I check next?

The only difference between the ADF and scanning flat, from a point of view of the scanner is there on the glass, it happens.  I suggest you get a bright flashlight and examine the corresponsing area hence is the line, it's almost certainly a spot on the strip of thin glass which is being just in the right place.

I've seen some people suggest that put a flashlight almost parallel to the Strip, it shines from the bottom can highlight the area problem.
