  I recently bought an of Officejet J3680 all-in-One Office Depot in Escazu, Costa Rica.  I had no problem to install on my computer, and in general, the unit seems to work fine.  However, when I try to print, I get an error.  Happen when you try to print across several applications.  I'm not paste the entire error, but I put the part below.  I use a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.6 Version If that helps.  Any thoughts on why this does not work, and what I can do to make it print?

  If you are using snow leopard and have the HP software before Snow Leopard (either from a CD not marked as compatible with 10.6 or you recently upgraded to Snow Leopard and had the software HP on your Mac before you upgrade - even if you made a standard from the old software uninstaller or installed new software on top of it) , you must uninstall the software using the "scrubber":

  Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
  Click on continue
  Highlight your device in the left pane
  Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
  There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)

• Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

  Hello everyone,

  the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

  1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
  2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

  I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

  At this point, I ask:

  1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
  2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

  Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

  Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

  With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.

• HP2575v backup mode

  My color cartridge is bad and I want to print in backup mode.

  I can't enter this mode, I get either 'insert the left dropout color print cartridge"when no cartridge is installed, or 'remove and check color cartridge" where cratridge is the printer.

  Research on the Internet indicates I can get the printer in backup mode to print B & W or grayscale, but I can't see anyway to get there.

  Not every printer with cartridges of part consisting of the cartridge and the black print head three colors have the ability to print reserve mode. If we took the color cartridge and tried to print without him, and that the printer has not reacted or given an error message. He is not one of the printers that have this capability.   I understand that your Officejet J3680 is on the wrong language. I'll try my best to scroll you to language change.

  Press the Setup button, then you will need to press the right arrow key 6 times to access the preferences screen and press ok, first one that appears should be the Set language & country so press ok again, then you can scroll languages to find the English.

  If this does not work, do you know what language it's showing now? If it's in the letters, I could try to translate it, to see if we could figure out from there.

• OfficeJet J3680, cannot log on to the appliance

  OfficeJet J3680, connected by USB to Mac Mini with OSX 10.9.5.

  It worked very well for a long time, but now scanning is broken.  Print still works fine.  All features (printing and scanning) works fine if I connect the USB cable to my MacBook Pro with the same operating system.

  Specifically, I get the error message "unable to log on to the device.  This happens for all types of access attempt (preview, Capture of Image, system preferences > printers and Scanners > Scanner > Scanner open...)

  I tried different solutions, up to and including a complete uninstall and reinstall, with restarting the computer and the printer.

  Update Software Apple (in the App Store) indicates that I have successfully installed HP Printer Software Update Version 3.0.

  Printing SYSTEM has been reset several times.

  Clues?  It's super frustrating that it works on my laptop, but not the desktop computer (where there is meant to be fixed.)

  Thanks for getting back to me, and Yes you are right and forgive dominant that the printer works with other devices.

  Here are a few suggestions more:

  1. Remove the first printer driver by following these steps: Sunshyn2005: FRUSTRATED! HP 6700 scanning feature does not not with my MAC
  2. Complete a manual uninstall then: Sunshyn2005: Re: definition of Scan
  3. Reinstall the driver v3.0: v3.0 of HP for OS X printer drivers
  4. If it still does not work, try to create another user account

  Is it possible to print a document on legal size paper on the Officejet Pro 8610 printer?  If so, how can I do or where can I find instructions?  I need to print an excel document and may take up to print, but do not know how to load the paper.  The tray is too small.

  I see you are trying to print tax forms and your Officejet 4500 stops printing after what looks like at about 3/4 of the form. Are you able to print everything from start to finish, this form is the only thing that does not print in its entirety?

  What program you print the tax go? What is a PDF? Otherwise, you can try to print in PDF format, and if it's already a PDF file, you can try print as an image? The links below can help:
