OfficeJet Premium 8600 - 2 Facer copy format default for trays and legal documents.

Maybe someone reading this can help me with two questions that I have about this printer.

(1) how to adjust the printer automatically detects what tray (letter or legal) to print from?

By example, if I print a legal document and legal paper in tray 2, can the printer auto-detection to draw paper from tray 2 without me having to select.

(2) how can you do two sided (duplex) of legal size paper?  Can it be done? Whenever I have it try just prints pages unique faces.

Hello

You can set the assignment of Board as follows:

  1. Open Control Panel > devices and printers.
  2. Right click on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 icon and select printer properties.
  3. Open the device settings tab.
  4. Form of assignment tray, set the size of paper tray 1 and 2.

Now by selecting the specific size will automatically mark the assigned plate.

The Duplex accessory does not support legal size and can't do it, you can find this information in accordance with the specifications of paper output > supported paper sizes in product specifications:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 black printing/copying has vertical lines on the page. The color is fine.

HP Officejet Pro 8600.  at 2 weeks.

    Windows XP

Color copies/prints are very good.  Black prints/copies have vertical lines widths, ranging from top to bottom.  This occurs when it is copied to form glass or through the feeder.

    Suggestions?

If the unit is producing lines in copies, so I suggest checking a few things. Make sure that the printer is plugged into a wall outlet directly and not in a surge protector. Additionally, make sure that the glass of the scanner (including the small strip on the left) are clean.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 print Face down

    OfficeJet Pro 8600 n911a 8 32-bit Windows

It seems that if I print a single page with automatic duplex printing disabled, the printed page is put in the face of to the top output tray.  If I do the same with duplexing on (back long edges), the page is placed in reverse.

    Is this normal or preventable?

    Hello

I don't know why your old printer make this but all 3 printers (from 3 providers) at home do the same thing and I can access dozens more by other sellers to work and they also do the same thing.

Forward, thinking to print documents pages MULTI 2-sided, if all are facing upward, you must sort the documents by hand unless you print last page first.

    Kind regards.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 leaves black lines on docs scanned when using the document feeder

This is the second HP Officejet Pro 8600 I had - one was replaced by HP, after that the same issue arose.  I tried to clean the entire unit, but we still get a thin black line running vertically down the page.  This line is divided into sections of 1 "and 2.5" in length.  Sometimes I get the fine line and then almost a shadow line that is parallel.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated I have scan documents to PDF format and it's hassle to put everyone on the flat for scanning.  I use the charger of the doc on a daily basis and wonder if this could have something to do with the lines.

    Thanks for any help.

The question is a spec on thin (~ 1 "wide) glass to the left of the main bed scanner.  Clean this area as described in this document.  It can be difficult to see the affected area, a bright flashlight which is held at an angle to the glass can help find the place.  Even a very small spec on the glass can cause a black line when using the ADF.

    Hello @baumtech1,

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you have accidentally disabled your Officejet Pro 8600 network capabilities. I would like to help.

I you sent a private message with instructions to access the menu of the toggle from the Panel of 8600.

Please note: when you turn on either from EWS (embedded Web server) printer or front panel NEVER activate control lock. It can cause a very undesirable situation. Also please don't be one of those rare people who adds a password to access EWS of the printer. These passwords also cause a lot of grief. Especially because they are really hard reset and easily forgotten. Add to that the fact that he has not forgotten the password option and you have a recipe for disaster... Well... It has been my experience anyway.

If you access the menu toggle and you get things working again, tell by the accepted solution.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: software the Printer Wizard does nothing and eats CPU

    Hello

I currently have a problem with the HP printer Assistant software. I use a HP Officejet Pro 8600. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, redownloaded the latest version of the software from the HP site, tried with a wireless connection and a USB connection, but still have this same problem.

The problem is when I open the printer to the printer Assistant software (scan, definition of printing preferences, etc.) nothing loads and what I noticed is that in the Task Manager, the program is constantly, nonstop to duplicate in the Task Manager and eventually slow down the computer because of the high use of the processor of these duplicates. I can't stop these processes in time compared to the amount of tasks in doubles at this very moment, and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8.1 and so I've upgraded to Windows 10 but exactly the same problem occurs. If I wait long if I get an error (0xc0000142) telling me that I can not load the Printer Wizard, but the process will still duplicate.

I tried using the printer with other computers, but they do not have a problem by launching the wizard from the printer. I wonder what is happening and why is the Printer Wizard launch multiple neverending himself as tasks on the Task Manager?

Add to that, printing works fine, it is train to launch the Printing Assistant software that is causing the problem.

    Hello

As you have tried with the new cartridges, I think it might be a problem with the printer or the print head.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 does not recognize the 2nd paper tray

I've set up the 2nd tray in system preferences by checking the box for an additional tray, although it seems sometimes to uncheck because when I go back to it is checked, it is not. Somewhere I found the Source setting and I saw 2 trays, but now I don't remember where it was to check again. However, when I try to use the parameters to define a default tray and lock in the status bar on the printer itself, it simply does not list the second set as being there. So there is nothing to choose or define. At one point, even though I didn't click to print, it seemed as if he was going to print something but then says there is more paper in the tray. But there was.

I am on an iMac 10.8.5 OS and just bought this printer. I connected with ethernet.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600: streaks black copy cover page

When I make a black copy, the page is covered with many black streaks.

    I clean the printer heads.

    Color copies are ok.

Hi @cay1 and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you have problems with the release of your copy.  I would like to help!

I recommend you to remove the printer ink cartridges and perform a power reset.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I also recommend this document on the vertical stripes, lines or streaks in the Copies, faxes or Scans

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
