OfficeJet Pro 6830:2 - sided copy on 6830

Try to make a copy of the 2 sides of an original 2 using the ADF faces. The control panel offers only 1 to 1 and 1 to 2 choices.  No choice provides a copy of 2 faces. How to make a 2 to 2?

Hello @drsOH,

I would like to help you today with 2 sides to copy on your HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer. Now, because your machine is actually not a duplex assembly into the automatic document feeder, you need to do is the following:

  1. Load the page 1 on the glass flat on your printer
  2. Select the menu copy
  3. Select the 1:2 faces option
  4. Choose Black or color copy
  5. Copy the first page and you will receive the prompt on the screen of your printer to load page 2
  6. Lift the lid to dish and ensure that page 2 is face down on the glass flat
  7. Select OK on the screen of your printer
  8. The copied page will automatically feed into the printer and the second page will be duplex copied.

If you want to automatically duplex (2 sides) copy documents using the Automatic Document Feeder that you will need a printer with an autoloader for dadf.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion. Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support! Good luck!

  • Printer HP Officejet Pro 6830: OS 10.6.8 and Officejet Pro 6830

I just bought a HP all-in-one Officejet 6830 Pro printer, fax, scanner, copier.  I connected it to my laptop, a MacBook Pro OS 10.6.8.  It copy in color, but it will not print from a file in color.  He apparently correctly scan in color, but not to print the scanned in color.  How to print in color?  I can't upgrade my system because I will not be able to access critical software.  What recourse do I have?  When I bought it was incompatible with some operating systems, there is no warning!

    Hey @cshein,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.

I understand that you encounter an incompatibility between your old version of Mac OS and your new HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.  I can certainly sympathize with you on this one - even if your Mac is not old in real terms, Snow Leopard not blessed with a specific driver for your printer.  I have a workaround that you can try:

The steps I posted in another thread here suggest using the generic PCL driver for the Mac.  This thread is about a former printer used with Yosemite, this article indicates that the similarities between the latest version of Mac and Snow Leopard are close enough to my advice work with your devices.  Let me know if this approach to configuration works and allows you to print in color.

Note that the generic PCL printer driver probably won't make you analyze the features of the computer.  If you want to scan without using HP software, click here to get suggestions from HP on how to do it.  Note that this article 10.7 Mac users - oriented steps must always be relevant as Apple Preview, picture Capture and printing and scanning app are all common Mac OS applications that probably are Aussies in versions older Mac OS.

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Alignment of printhead error.

Hello. I have the above printer. I get the message print head alignment error. I have unplugged and restarted, he could usually get another page or two either printed or copied, and now I can't get anything to print. It gives me just the error message from the print head alignment. I've been very busy and it worked when I did this as mentioned above. Since it stop working completely, I checked in to see that the warranty has expired on 01/06/16. It must be a problem on this particular printer, as evidenced by what I read online. I wonder what I can do? HP Will stand behind this printer, since it has this problem, even if it's beyond the warranty period of 23 days?

    Hello

I'm trying to scan on my all-in-one printer, but it won't pull the paper down in the adf.

I know that the adf works because it will copy from there, and I try and managed to scan until the thing "original charge" appears on the printer screen.  It is scanning, but the page is not mobile.

  • My new printer HP Officejet Pro 6830 continually prepares to scan whenever it is turned on.

My brand new HP printer officejet Pro 6830 repeatedly "prepares to sweep" movement of the scan head in position again and again each time it is turned on. What is going on?

Welcome to the HP Forums @jporter0,

I saw your post on your Officejet 6830 attempting to initialize a scan when the printer is turned on and I wanted to get do you I share my suggestions.

Try a power reset to start and make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet, avoiding the power and surge arresters bars.

With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.

When the reset is complete, try to make a copy, print, scan again and let me know if you see any problems with these features. If you notice the error codes, include them as well!

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Printer several times in the process of disappearance

I keep having trouble with my printer. It worked fine for a few weeks, when I first bought, and then it suddenly stopped to record with my mac, despite being connected via USB.

The first two times, as it happened, I spent a LOT of time searching through your forums, find an answer later. I'm clearly not only the person with similar problems - don't know why you guys can just put up a page on this topic and facilitate the difficulty.

However, today I find no solutions. I don't have the technical knowledge to make things complicated and I am appauled that HP does not have a call center or lives the Charter for me - I saw the mention of these things, but I can't find where on your website that offers them. Maybe because I'm in Australia. HP has proved to be an extremely bad for making choices.

Why my printer don't suddenly ceases to be detected? I had an old printer old until I upgraded that NEVER had this problem. Please tell me how to solve this problem. (and band not only help, but stop to happen). I rely on this printer, every day and every time it disappears, I lose a lot of time trying to get connected again.

    Hi @NaomiC,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I noticed that your printer HP Officejet Pro 6830 maintains endangered, on Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite. I'm happy to discuss this issue for you!

    A few questions for you:

    • When the printer breaks off communication with the Mac, you are still able to make copies, using the glass of the scanner of the printer? Copy of Documents.
    • Have you tried to connect the printer USB cable other ports on the Mac?
    • Have you tried another USB printer cable?

In the meantime, please, try the procedure described in this guide, "printer offline" or "printer not responding" Message (OS X)and let me know what happens!

  • OfficeJet Pro 6830: Can't print multiple copies with my new 6830 Pro of Officejet

I installed my 6830 and have updated the drivers.  It is on my home wifi network and works well.   All functions work perfectly, but when I try to print multiple copies by selecting the number of copies in the print dialog in Adobe Reader, MS Word and MS Excel, all I get is a copy no matter how much I said.  (This is probably true of other software, too, but these are the only ones I've tried so far).  This makes print multiple copies very tedious.

Why it won't print multiple copies, and how to fix it?

Welcome to the HP community @JoetheGOM ,

I read your post about how you cannot print multiple copies of your Mac 10.7, running to your Officejet 6830. I have some suggestions for you below!

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Repair disk permissions
    3. Restart the Mac.
    4. Install the complete driver here: HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer
    5. Repeat your impressions.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830: HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 - very, very slow to print...

We just picked up the HP OfficeJet Pro 6830, installed and started to 'use' it. However on the choice of the option to print even a single page monochrome printing - the printer takes a minimum of 2.5 minutes to start and the first sheet on is fully 6 to 7 minutes.

During the startup process, there are several sounds printhead, cartridges of rolls etc apparently moving in the printer, while a minute passes before paper is taken up by the printer followed by another 2-3 minutes for the first sheet of paper, slowly in the printer.

For 2-3 minutes the paper is caught in the printer maybe 1-2 "at the same time for half of the page, and then suddenly the rest of the document is completed quickly.  As noted above, this time is on a pdf document which is free from any graphic or anything else of the text. The first official sheet on the calendar for 4 pages of images and text from a PDF from Adobe is 1 minute and 10 seconds.

If anyone can offer any idea or experience on how to fix this, I'd appreciate your comments. Other that the printer will be back to the retailer for replacement or refund.

Too little, too late... no effort real here to solve the problem, the same old copy and paste replica of any other officer of the HP Support that can be found nowhere else in this forum - were there, already has not found these 'ideas '. • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 constantly go 'offline' and cannot print

    Hello world.

I love my HP OfficeJet Pro 6830. It does everything I need a printer / scanner but it is one of the aspects that are really starting to annoy me and my family (i.e. my WIFE!) - he continues to go 'Offline '.

I understand perfectly that it needs/desires to go to save mode, when I'm not using it or have not used for some time, but for now, every time I have seem to need to use it (after I have not used for some time) of energy, it is listed as 'offline' and the only way I can print is stepping on him , turn off, turn it back on, wait a while so it connects to my WiFi network and then have another go. Then it works... and prints the other five copies of the document that my eager family tried to print!

"HP print and Scan Doctor" said he of just nothing wrong and just suggest just uninstall and reinstall. I already tried and it changed nothing. Same problem with Windows 7 and 8.1. It will print a page of 'internal' test, but not via Windows test page.

I also tried to restart the spoler and checked the 'File and Printer sharing' settings, the firewall settings and looked at the network discovery and run various windows troubleshooting tools without result. Nothing works, but the HP Officejet Pro 6830 software can see / communicate with him! It's so frustrating.

Someone at - it ideas? This really, REALLY boring. Thanks in advance to anyone who donated their time to help me.

    Regards,

    Steve.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
