OfficeJet Pro 6830: After winning 10 ipgrade lost the Scan from the printer function

Update Win 7 Pro.

Digitization of works normally in the HP Support Assistant (fully updated) and inside my desktop (the .bin file) application where I have access to all the functions of the printer.

Scanning initiated by the product of the printer normally but in the end, it fails with an error message.

The error message reads:

"The HP scanning Application could not save the file to the specified location.

It is same location Assistant support and the decstop succesfully registers, namely

C: Users/username/documents.

Is this a form of rights issue administrator/access, I wonder because he is obviously not a driver issue or a printer.

Thank you very much in advance for any wisdom.

You know @Scarguts, I have to be honest, I don't know if it is a question of rights, or if there is something wrong with the destination of your choice. I choose a new destination and try to scan the image. You can make this change in the printer Assistant software.

This will help isolate the problem.

  • Fax - HP Officejet Pro 6830: how to remove how remove the 'Fax - 6830 (network) HP Officejet Pro printers list option.

How can I remove the "Fax - HP Officejet Pro 6830 (network)" option in the list of candidates of printer? First of all, I am a VoIP client and my salesman, like many others, does not fax support. In second place both my wife and I inadvertently try to print using this entry much to our annoyance. In third place for a non-commercial customer, it's an archaic device and that there should be a way to turn it off. "Fax - HP Officejet Pro 6830" does not appear in "Devices and printers", but it is in the registry.

There is no entry "FAX". I gave up. I would attach a print screen, but I don't see how.

There is a problem with the print head.  Or can not find the print head

This problem just started happening. Everything was ok after replacing the cartridges of printers with HP cartrighes for this printer, printed since the replacement of cartridges.  I followed the instructions given by your troubleshooting solutions.

turned off and unplugged, removed and replace the cartridges back in, printed on a sheet of paper indicating that the print head was aligned, printed what he needed at the time and now does it again.  I repeated the above instructions and it just keeps saying the same thing.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a, no PC Interface to the printer

Win 7 Home Premium, 32-bit and 64-bit PCs, wireless connection to the printer OfficeJet Pro 8600 N911a.

When clicking on the icon of the desktop printer, or to access the HP program in the start menu, MS Notepad opens the interface instead of the interface coding. It's a constant problem since the installation of the software in November 2012. The software has been installed on all three 3 PCs with the disc that came with the printer. All three 3 PCs suffer the same problem of no interface, only Noptpad with the code.

I uninstalled the drivers and firmware (using Revo) completely and reinstalled from the HP Support download site. The problem remains.

The interface of Scan function works perfectly in the start menu.

Other than that, the printer works fine when access to it to print from the sites, as well as the printer works perfectly with all functions when using the control panel touchscreen printer.

    Any suggestions or help appreciated.

    Hi Bobhist,

I understand that you have a 8600 Officejet which is not able to open the wizard in the printer on 3 different computers. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I'd be happy to help you!

I would recommend you have a look through this HP Printer Wizard opens with an error in Script or in Notepad and you should then be able to use everything as planned.

Hope this helps, have a nice week end

    Hey @CTFaninNJ,

I see that you encounter some problems with the help of ePrint to print from your mobile devices on your Officejet 6830 e-all-in-one printer. I can help you with that.

    Here's what we will do:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is off, remove the power cord at the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
    4. On the printer, click web services icon in the lower left corner of the display screen.
    5. Compare the address of the ePrint printer to the ePrint address as it appears on the app. If it is different, you must change the address ePrint in the application on the device.
    6. Try to send a document ePrint by sending an email.

Please let me know if this allows you to ePrint or if you have other questions. If not, have a great weekend!

If it solves your problem, please help other users find this thread by clicking on accept Solution below my post.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Receive faxes with a HP officejet pro 6830 w / answering machine

I had an OLD officejet model that could receive faxes even if the answering machine was not connected directly to the fax machine the 6830 manual says that it must be directly connected.  My current Brother printer does NOT receive faxes because of this problem.  Anyone know if I directly connect my machine to this model (Officejet 6830) to make it work?  I won't buy it if it will not work.

    Hello @JPJ408,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are looking to buy a printer all-in-one HP Officejet Pro 6830 for fax purposes. While the User Guide advise you to plug the answering machine directly on the back of the Officejet unit, it is not necessary.

If you have a fax with an answering machine on her line, the only requirement is that the fax is set to two rings higher than the answering machine. Most of the responders are put back on 4 rings. As a result, you would set your Officejet to automatically pick up on 6 rings. In this way, when a voice is heard, you can manually respond to the call before the answering machine to pick up. If you are not home and then people can still leave messages on your answering machine. If you have a fax to come through, do not respond. The answering machine will pick up after 4 rings. At this point the fax machine "listen" on answering machine message and if fax tones are detected, the fax will take over and receive the fax.

I hope this helps clear up any confusion.
