  I understand that you are not able to print in color from your computer Mac OS X 10.6 to your HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-all-in-one printer. Unfortunately, due to the age of your computer Mac your new HP Officejet printer is supported only on the Mac OS X 10.7, 10.8 of Mac OS X, Mac OS X 10.9 and the latest systems of Mac OS X 10.10 operating. Actually there is no HP full feature software downloadable and the driver for this model of printer for the Mac OS X 10.6 Operating System. Therefore, you must use a generic driver to Apple for a printing capability. This generic driver must be the reason why you did not print color options.

  To prove that your hardware is working properly please can I print you a standalone print quality Diagnostic Report:

  1 load plain white paper on the tray.

  2. on the printer Panel, drag the screen to scroll to installationand then tap the Setup icon (). Displays the Setup menu

  3. slide the screen to scroll to reports, and then touch reports.

  4. press on the report on print quality. The printer prints the report.

  

  If this report print with colors: Problem of compatibility on your computer Mac OS X 10.6 is the pilot of your printing problem. Unfortunately, the only option would be to install and use your printer on a supported operating system

  If this report is printed in black and white only: You encounter a hardware problem. Please click here to solve print quality problems.

  I cannot print black on my printer.  I changed printers, ink cartridges and tried printing in different programs such as Word, wordpad and Excel.  Other black print colors just not.  Can someone tell me what is the problem?

  When you installed the printer cartridge, did you remove the protective sticker on the cartridge? Sometimes people forget to remove this and install the cartridge.

  I understand that you would like to know if the printer uses black ink if you set up to print with the color cartridges.

  There are different to choose print settings.

  High quality grayscale will use less cyan, megenta and yellow (CMY) that say normal printing mode, but will not be a drastic reduction. However, the only feature of black ink slightly reduced the use of the CMJ. This setting produces a composite black.

  The feature of black ink only will limit the use of color for the amount that passes under the black ink to ensure an impression for a long time and the true-black tone that should.

  More economical printing would quickly the project and black ink only.  Grayscale setting uses the color cartridge to print in grayscale, because it offers better quality.  The quality is better with shades of gray, but it uses more ink.

  I have a Photosmart b109n. I tried to print a bunch of images and half of the images was good, but the other half was very strange. As you know a printer when it prints a picture, it makes all the colours of yellow, magenta and cyan, even in the dark. My printer can print colors perfectly but cannot print black parts on the image. It's a gray a little something. Here's an example of what it's like (the grey parts had to be black):

  My mystery is now solved. My statement was false, that the printer uses the black cartridge when it is printing photos. So the real problem was that the black ink cartridge.

  According to the description, you are unable to print in color, even if you have a color cartridge. I will definitely help you.

  1 did you changes to the computer before the show?

  2. What is the brand and model of the printer?

  First of all, make sure that the color cartridge/toner is not empty or blocked.

  You may have accidentally changed the print options that would have caused the problem.

• Cannot print in color. Color Laserjet 3700n

  Having a hard time to print a Word document in color. It comes out in black and white. I'm positive, that I have the right driver, so this isn't the issue. It might be that something related to the word because it happens only in Word. PDFs of print color very well. However, under the floor, when I look in the settings of the printer, I don't see any option to switch between color and black and white. Anyone know where it is on this specific printer in Word 2010? Thanks for the help.

  Try steps:

  1. try to print another document word with color images and check if it prints in color
  2. go to start > printer and faxes > right-click printer driver > select Printing Preferences > Advanced tab > under the characteristics of the printer is disabled check "Print any black text" option > click on apply > ok

  3. also try to print the test page driver under printer properties

  I guess that the printer in Windows Gallery preferences are defined in levels of grey or black only. If it prints color everywhere else, it is located in the Windows Gallery.

  Here is a support page for troubleshooting printing from Firefox. It seems that if you can print from IE that your printer drivers are installed and are working correctly. This looks like a setting in Firefox.

  Let us know if that helps.

  For your fax number, you can run the Fax diagnostic Test. It will help diagnose and solve common problems of fax.
