It's a problem because Drivet package not has not been updated for USB3 - y at - it a patch?
Thanks for any help / advice
I guess the short answer is: Yes, the problem with the software and the 3.0 Port.
The long answer with a possible work around is as follows: first of all, the software looks for minimum requirements. Because the software is older, he doesn't know what a 3.0 port. You are right when you say that it should work since you do not use the USB and use wireless instead, but this is not the case.
There is something we can try, but I can't guarantee it will work. I thought first we could connect a USB cable and run the software made to force the software to see the USB port, but then the software wouldn't even get far enough because you can't plug the cable to the most later in the installation.
My second thought and most promising suggestion is to connect the USB cable (although we do normally not until the software prompts us to) and use the installation wizard HP Print to get the insteaad of software to use the CD or download from the printer driver page. Still, I can't say with certainty that it works, but I don't see why it would not be worth a try.
If it works, and we get the software installed you can convert the USB connection to a wireless connection using the software. Fingers crossed! Download and run the with the following link. Printer HP install wizard for Windows
If this does not work, or you don't want to bother with it (not worth trying), I might consider getting a new model of the printer. You can even call HP. They might be able to offer a discount on a newer model. If you are in the Canada, U.S. dial 800-474-6836 or you can Contact HP worldwide.

Where can I find the e-mail address for my HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a series so I can use my new HP app on my ipad to my ipad on my printer printing?
The printer Officejet 8500 A909 series does not work with ePrint. You can use the House ePrint and Biz app for Android and Semien devices or application ePrint for iOS devices. However, you cannot use ePrint itself. Sorry for the confusion. Here are links to the ePrint and FAQ Mobile applications compatibility list. Hope that helps.

Duplex scanning possible HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a Series?

OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a not print correctly
OfficeJet Pro 8500 A909a
I can't print now with my usual USB connection, directly from the computer USB for printer, even if another computer can print to it via a network connection. After printing, I open printer in devices and printers, there is a ghost copy to the printer and the printer itself is ghost, indicating that it is in offline mode. After you open the Quebec, the file is listed with a message "error-printing". I can remove the copy to the printer and to set the printer online, but the process is repeated each time.
I: restarted the computer and the printer, run the troubleshooter printer with no problems, noted, tried the USB cable to a different port, execute printing and doctor Scan and my computer 'sees' the firmware, printer and resettled drivers and restart the print spooler. There is no hardware problems - it will print on the other computer and copies, etc very well. I have not tried another cable because I have a step and assume if my computer can see the printer should work. One final note: there was a bolt of lightning about 100 yards away for the weekend. first thing Monday back to work is when I noticed the problem.
Please help, I did research for hours without success...
Tried the printer with 2 different usb cables to another computer and it never worked. I think that the usb port on the printer has been fried. Bought a new printer works fine.

HP Officejet Pro 8500 has Plus: HP Officejet Pro 8500 a cannot scan more on the purchase of Mac
I have not had any problems using the printer or scanner on the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has more when I had my old laptop to Windows 7. There was some HP software installed from a CD that allowed me to open the HP application and adjust the settings for scans, save multiple scans in a single PDF etc...
Since switching to a new Mac OSX desktop computer, I can't install it whatever that either the old CD from my Mac has no CD/DVD drive. The only application of HP on my Mac is now HP ePrint, and which does not seem to offer something to scan with.
The other option that have left me is to connect the Mac to the printer by USB, then choose:
Scan > computer > iMac > save in Jpeg.
But I get the following error message:
The connection to the computer is down or HP scanning application cannot detect the OCR software. Check the computer for more details".
What do I need to install, or the difficulty to get the scanner to work on my Mac please?
Unplug the printer and reset the printing system:
HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909n - Windows 7 Driver needed!
I just bought HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909, and he does it not install on my Windows 7 RC1 installation. An updated driver is needed.
I wonder if there is no known workaround solution? I tried compatibility mode and run as admin, comes to about 90% ish and - error.
How can I be sure that HP will make a Windows 7 driver for this model, if I need to return it as soon as POSSIBLE.
Thank youMessage edited by MiahX on 07/06/2009 10:20
@ellirdad. I'm 100% agree with you want HP to solve the driver problem. It's quite maddening.
If you download and use the basic driverset, it works very well (I use Windows 7 RC1 x 64). This is after forcing it to run in compatibility mode, of course. You can scan, fax, etc. Works very well.
I tried to install the driverset full and also had the problem where it would freeze at 96% and eventually times out. I was bored and deicided to make an investigation of the sound problem have is a file named flash9f.ocx. Apparently, he's trying to 'register' this file with Windows and she fails. I have not dug too deep, but I tried to download and manually save the flash9f.ocf and there still no, then who knows. I hope that HP will get on the ball and give us some Windows 7 drivers soon.Message edited by Method2Madness on 08/19/2009 10:53
HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a scanning install computer
I have a HP officejet pro 8500. It is installed, and I can easily print to it from my laptop. The scanner works I can scan to a USB device and then manually the port to my computer to download on the internet. However, it the device does not have a target to scan computer.
(1) the printer is connected via an ethernet cable.
(2) the printer and my computer are connected for printing, but does not scan.
(3) I tried to reinstall the drivers for the device (found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4062&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3752... but it has not solved the problem.)
I'm looking to bind the scannerwith my computer. I don't know how to do this. I know that it is not currently bound.
In addition the product user guide (found here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4062&product=3752456&sw_lang... was not helpful for that matter.)

OfficeJet pro 8500 a909a: try to go to with a HP officejet Pro 8500 wireless
I just moved. My fax in my old address connection came a "bundle" and has been through a fixed line. I wonder if my oldest device is able to make a wireless upward set, or I'll have to stay with a land line and a phone number for the fax works correctly?
My unit is about 5 years... HP office jet Pro 8500 a909a...
A telephone cable to a fixed line connection is required for faxing.
Generally, a Wi - Fi connection only refer to a connection to a computer for printing and scanning, it does not refer to a configuration of the fax machine.
However, the device does support all wireless, but only a wired network or USB connectivity.
Problem installing Officejet Pro 8500 all-in-one driver
Upgrade to Windows 8.1 on my Dell Studio laptop a few weeks ago and have not been able to load and install the SW factory driver. Worked with HP support and they are unable to solve this problem. SW will download and extract but the intallation will not initiate. I tried unintalling McAfee firewall and virus SW - did not help. I need the driver package to install to be able to use the scanner. Have been able to get only a generic driver for printer through Windows. Other than ditching Windows 8.1 ideas?

4. type hpwins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
5. start the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /Unregister. in the Run dialog box and click OK.
6. launch the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC/REGSERVER in the Run dialog box and click OK.
