OfficeJet Pro 8500 first stopped scanning

My Officejet Pro 8500 has stopped scanning.  The message window says it is not connected to the network.

I changed my DSL provided by the local cable company to ATT U verse a few months ago, but the problem does not seem to be related to this change.  I say this because when I ran the diagnostics, the printed page says that my problem is "the wireless radio does not work. Contact HP support. »

HP support offered advice tech for $29) warranty, or sell me a new all-in-one.

The wireless radio can be fixed? Is it a software problem.  I have to buy a new all-in-one?

Hello JessicaD,

I see that you have a problem with the wireless radio fails on your Officejet 8500. To inform you in this regard, if the radio has failed, it is not a replaceable part by customer, but I'll try to help you with the problem.

Start as a result of this document: printer does not maintain the wireless connection.
With this document, I would like to track:
(1) restore your default settings of network on the printer.
Go to setup (can be a wrench), network, and then restore the default settings of the network. After that the power on the printer.

(2) turn off the wireless radio.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio, you must have the option to turn it off.

(3) hard reset of the printer.
While the printer power cable for 30 seconds, while the cable is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. It's draining the printer of all power. Reconnect the cable.

(4) turn on the wireless radio and reconnect.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio - on. Then, go to Configuration > network > wireless are running the configuration wizard.

If it was not successful in entering you connected to the network and or print wireless. You still have another option with the printer to try before replacing.
If you have an Ethernet cable, you can set a wired network connection. Plug the Ethernet (cat5 cable) cable into the printer and the router. It will be assigned the printer a new IP, which means that you will need to add the printer to the computer. This will still allow the printer on the network and communicate with a wireless device.

Please try all above and I would like to know how everything goes. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 first: Feeder does not

    Hello:

I use a HP Officejet Pro 8500 first all-in-one printer, and recently I started having problems with the document feeder. It always saves when a document is sitting there, but when I choose "Scan" it makes a really loud grinding noise, short and says that I need to reload the document, and then try again. I also noticed that the roller is demeaning not himself, he is already lowered when I place documents in now. I think that maybe that's the problem.

I also have the error 'Pump motor Stall' when I restart the device.

No idea how can I fix? I scan a large number of documents in the office and the document feeder is quite crucial for time management.

    Thank you!

Hello @ddehner523and welcome to the Forums of HP, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I see that you have questions about your feed paper.  I would like to help!

I recommend to remove printer ink cartridges and reset the power supply.  Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I would also turn on the power of the printer into a different wall outlet.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 first print and mirror for treadmill mouse and t shirt

HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 first concerns.  I tried to figure out where the printer setting is for printing in mirror.  It is usually in the Advanced Settings tab.  I called HP and was told by 2 different tech, then supervisor that HP does not include this option in this printer.  I tried to explain how I felt it was hard to believe and I was told that it is most likely was an option that was no longer necessary.  I have his name and the file number.  I asked this bump up the level immediately above, because I felt strongly HP has not intentionaly left this option.  I digress.

    Can anyone suggest anything.

    Thank you

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 has Plus: HP Officejet Pro 8500 a cannot scan more on the purchase of Mac

I have not had any problems using the printer or scanner on the HP Officejet Pro 8500 has more when I had my old laptop to Windows 7. There was some HP software installed from a CD that allowed me to open the HP application and adjust the settings for scans, save multiple scans in a single PDF etc...

Since switching to a new Mac OSX desktop computer, I can't install it whatever that either the old CD from my Mac has no CD/DVD drive. The only application of HP on my Mac is now HP ePrint, and which does not seem to offer something to scan with.

The other option that have left me is to connect the Mac to the printer by USB, then choose:

Scan > computer > iMac > save in Jpeg.

But I get the following error message:

    "Connection error".

The connection to the computer is down or HP scanning application cannot detect the OCR software. Check the computer for more details".

What do I need to install, or the difficulty to get the scanner to work on my Mac please?

  • OfficeJet pro 8500: is my officejet pro 8500 store all scanned or copied information

My Officejet pro 8500 dead.  Are there personal information stored in the printer I need to erase or destroy before recycling the machine?

@No3putt, welcome to the Forums of HP,

The printer may have stored recent incoming faxes in memory. You can restore the printer back to factory settings to delete all information.

    • Select the configuration Menu, tools, restore the settings by default, Yes.

That should erase any information that you entered in the unit and you should be good to recycle!

I hope this information helps you! If you want to thank me for my answer today, click on the below!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus stopped scanning

I've been scanning 30 pages at a time and scan has stopped in the middle of it.

Can someone advise on my problem. The diognostic tool says that is missing a driver?

    Thank you.

    Barbara

    Hello Barbara, alias @Maltesem ,.

I read on the digitization of problems you are with your Officejet 8600 stop in the middle of a scan. The "full" pilot could very well be missing and causing this problem. Here are some of my own suggestions that I can offer.

    1. uninstall the printer software from the control panel. Make sure that you remove all components of the printer.

    2. restart the PC (important)

    3. download and run the Setup to install the "Full Feature" driver: HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver

Try to scan the image. If the scans still cancel, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall jack, avoiding bars power and surge protectors. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help greatly.

If the problem persists, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus stopped Scan of the computer... Said the computer could not be found. Help!

    Hello

I've been enjoying our HP Officejet Pro 8600 more MFP for a year now.

Analysis of the it function on our machine no longer works. It indicates that the computer cannot be found. I used this feature all the time in the past.

I can acquire a scan from an application, like Photoshop and I can scan to a removal storage device, but I can't use the computer Scan, and I really liked this feature!

A few days ago, our computer has been infected by a virus. A Norton agent could succeed in eliminating it. Do you think this could have disabled the feature computer scanning?

How can I get the MFP to recognize my computer again? I've looked up and down and impossible to find the solution for this.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 first, working to the new router. Menu locked up now, wireless

Printer is HP73053C (Office Jet Pro 8500 A909n first) converted from DSL to cable modem.  Now wireless cannot find printer and lost top buttons (Tools, ink level and help) features.  Windows 7 pro 64-bit.  HP support intervened during the WEB search and told me I was out of warranty for them to help me.  Reconnected printer on USB, reinstalled the drivers, (OJP8500VA909_Full_14.exe) thin printer on USB but still can not find way to unlock lock-up wireless.  Still no access tools, ink (try to get to the wireless configuration) or menus help, no answer on the softscreen buttons.

Please, can anyone help?  Is it possible to perform a "hard reset" on the printer?

OK, you can try a reset more mild # and 6 keys.

If this does not work, can you get it to a stable State where you can load the firmware update?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 first: Printers that HP Business will scan for OneDrive (SkyDrive)?

    Hello:

The first part of this isn't really the problem, it's just to explain why we are looking for a replacement for this printer.

Our office is currently using an HP all-in-one Officejet 8500 Pro Premier Series. The charger only really works when he wants (regardless of the resolution of the problems) and we arrived recently on an error message "pump" engine to a standstill at startup (which does not seem to impact, printing, scanning or copying that much). However, our new issue is one that many other experience with this particular model, and it's cyan not print do not at all. I cleaned the heads and blue printing, still does not want to show everyone. Yes, the cartridges are full; No, we don't want to pay $70 to replace part of the printer, when it has enough problems as it is.

Now, we are looking for a new printer, and my controller wishes to be a brand of HP or a Brother brand printer. We still want an all-in-one, which a lot of HP, however, I need to know which ones will scan actually OneDrive cloud service. I see on e-print and other stuff, but I have no idea what this is. We want just to make sure that our scanner will be useful to our business, and we do a lot of scan-to-OneDrive, but it's a lot of time when the charger does not work all the time.

You have any suggestions for HP printers? Do you know what models or do not Scan-to-Cloud services offer? I had a very difficult time trying to find one who has had this in the description and specifications.

    Thank you!

EDIT: Sorry, I had to fix the title to 'scan' instead of 'print '.

    Hello

Scan to OneDrive is much easier, just set up your printer (any web connected printer) or normal so that your computer is connected to scan to a location (Destination). For Windows 8.1, new printer can take OneDrive during the installation process.

You can see on the image above, I did a test before the answer of your question (previous answer - print for OneDrive).

    Kind regards.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 first Scan to E-mail Setup

I would like to know if someone has been able to get this option to work and if so it only works for a mail SMTP server or can set you it to an HTTP e-mail server IE; Windows Live Mail.  Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

GEORGE!  I thought about it.  For those who want to define this feature using Windows Live Mail and who use Qwest and hotmail, here is a link to discover this little bit of info I was looking so hard for.  http://www.Qwest.com/InternetHelp/QA/email/pop_smtp_qa.html use the name of the outgoing server and instructions including activation of SSL, require authentication, etc.  Use your complete username i.e. [email protected] and password for authentication.  Hopefully this might help someone else in the future and thank you for your help.

  • Officejet Pro 8500 problem has scan (new)

Mac 10.5.8 (Leopard, Snow Leopard no)

I can't find any interface or driver for scanning, except the screen on the printer.

Use of the screen, I have the choice of jpg and pdf (also by e-mail, but who do not need).

Jpg: Gives Me a 200 dpi file that is only a part of 6 "x 4" of the page.

PDF: Give me the whole page and I can "save under" a tiff file or anything else since Acrobat up to 1200 dpi, but the resolution is certainly not the 4800dpi promised in the specification of this machine. And there is no mention of the color depth.

    Where is the driver!

I have never had a scanner that didn't come with a driver that could be imported into PhotoShop, offering an interface for different resolutions and cropping.

    Should I remove this printer?

If so, is there an all-in-one that will scan photos properly?

By the way, I was on the chat for a long time yesterday, because the yellow cartridge sunk and emptied at the time the implementation has been full. Cat person told me to call phone support today, but one of the service centres is down and the tree of phone hangs up on me.

This is a very disappointing experience!

    Hello!

Is that what you have already installed the printer software in your computer?

If this isn't the case, run the disc that came with the printer and you will see the user interface for scanning.

For more information, click on the link below.  It is precisely for your printer and the issue.  Good luck!

  • must my HP Officejet Pro 8500 first select correct tray based on the size of the documents

The Prime Minister has 8500, two bins for paper, one for 8.5 x 11 and the default tray handles 8.5 x 14.

I need to change the printer settings to get it to use the correct paper tray whenever I want to use 8.5 x 14.

There is a configuration that allows the printer to select the correct tray according to the size of the document sent to the printer?

OK, unfortunately the printer will do that automatically. However, if you go into your printing preferences, you can configure a print shortcut that makes switching back MUCH easier. If you need help on how to do that let me know.

    I hope this helps!

No, it will not WIPE anything. If you have already the FULL FEATURES of software and downloaded drivers, it is not necessary for the drive. It's the same thing. Is nothing useful on the drive, unless you happen to have a computer problem and your computer deletes the printer drivers. You can then use the disk to re - download the software.
