OfficeJet Pro 8600: connected but cannot print

We just moved our office and have a new WIFI configuration. At our previous location, everything worked well, but since the move, a computer will not print from any application - Pages, Word, Email, etc.

We have two Mac wireless connected to a printer, and both seem to be successfully connected. Both are able to print pages and information via the HP utility test, but as I said, one of the computers is unable to print documents from applications. (The other computer prints just fine.) When you attempt to print the HP icon in the dashboard shows a red dot with the number 1 in this document, as it should be, but after a few seconds him point disappears and nothing prints. Of more blue light that is supposed to be on when it is connected to the WIFI isn't on.

I tried to resolve this all day with no luck. I couldn't find anything in the forums that helped. Hoping that someone has had a similar experience or a few ideas. Thank you.

UPDATE: just in case someone having a similar problem, see this post.

I uninstalled the driver on the computer that gave us wrong then reinstalled version fresh and everything works as it should. Don't know why I didn't try it earlier. Well.

    How can I fix?

    Hi @AnnisMonadjem,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are unable to print to your printer HP Officejet Pro 8600. I'd be happy to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and check "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

When you say 'LAN', are you referring to the network or you try to share the printer on the network?

How is the printer connected? (Ethernet/WiFi)

If you have noticed that the port is causing problems, please download and run the print and Scan doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

HP has several Officejet Pro 8600 series.

What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?

    • Update the firmware of the printer.
    • Don't hide the SSID (network name).
    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA and WPA2.
    • You have a double router broadband? Make sure that the two groups were not the same network name.

If the problem persists, you may encounter an IP address conflict. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

To assign the static IP address, use the following steps as a guide.

    • Print a Page of Network Configuration menu of the printer front panel. Note the IP printer. IPV4 address
    • Type the IP address in the browser to bring up the SAP.
    • Choose the network tab, then wireless on the left side, and then select the IPv4 tab.
    • Select Manual IP.
    • Enter your IP address manual (192.168.0.232)
    • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask, except if it is different.
    • Enter the IP address of your router that sits on the Network Configuration Page) for the default gateway.
    • Please, click on manual DNS server. For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.
    • Click on apply.
    • Restart the router, the printer and the computer.
    • Test printing and scanning.

If the problem persists, download and run this patch rollup: resolving printing issues in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

    • Try printing and scanning.

In addition, if you are still having problems try the steps in this guide, HP printers - "offline" Status Message printer (Windows 7).

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 +: OfficeJet Pro 8600 + very slow to print

We recently purchased a new MacBook.  From the beginning on this MacBook, our HP 8600 printer takes long time to start an extremetly to print.  Sometimes it prints ever.  The printer is set up wireless.  Sometimes the print area will say that is having problems connecting to the printer, but not always.

This only happens on this MaxBook.  I have an iMac and a Windows laptop, both connect to the same wireless printer.  Both of these printing devices print jobs fairly quickly.

I downloaded the new drivers.  Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer.  Restarted the printer and wireless access point.  Disabled iPV6.

Don't know what else to try.

  • The HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 does support e-print? I am running Win 7 Pro 64-bit

Can you please tell me: the HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 does support e-print?  I can't find or generate or figure out how to create an e-mail address for this printer.  Thank you.

    Hello BoPeepLamb,

8600 printer OfficeJet does support ePrint. You can access the e-mail address of printers by allowing Web Services to the main display on the printer. The icon is located on the top left corner of the screen and looks like the sheet of paper with circles behind it. Before you can enable Web Services, you must ensure that you have a valid internet connection first.

Once you have enabled Web Services, you should have a print sheet mobile printing with a printer code and the link to http://www.eprintcenter.com where you can create an account and customize your e-mail address printers.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to reply to this message and I'll try to find an answer for you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: software the Printer Wizard does nothing and eats CPU

    Hello

I currently have a problem with the HP printer Assistant software. I use a HP Officejet Pro 8600. Well I uninstalled and reinstalled several times, redownloaded the latest version of the software from the HP site, tried with a wireless connection and a USB connection, but still have this same problem.

The problem is when I open the printer to the printer Assistant software (scan, definition of printing preferences, etc.) nothing loads and what I noticed is that in the Task Manager, the program is constantly, nonstop to duplicate in the Task Manager and eventually slow down the computer because of the high use of the processor of these duplicates. I can't stop these processes in time compared to the amount of tasks in doubles at this very moment, and the only way to stop it is to restart the computer. I had this problem with Windows 8.1 and so I've upgraded to Windows 10 but exactly the same problem occurs. If I wait long if I get an error (0xc0000142) telling me that I can not load the Printer Wizard, but the process will still duplicate.

I tried using the printer with other computers, but they do not have a problem by launching the wizard from the printer. I wonder what is happening and why is the Printer Wizard launch multiple neverending himself as tasks on the Task Manager?

Add to that, printing works fine, it is train to launch the Printing Assistant software that is causing the problem.

    Hello

    1. you have any security program installed on the computer?

2 did you a recent software or changes to the material on the computer?

    Method 1:

I suggest you to disable any anti-virus program and check if the problem persists.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:

You can also run the printer Troubleshooter and check if it helps.

    Open the printer Troubleshooter

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-printer-Troubleshooter

    Method 3:

I also suggest to try to run the System File Checker scan on the computer. The scan will replace all the Windows files corrupted with new ones.

Click on the link mentioned below for further guidance on the scanning of the file system Checker

  • OfficeJet pro 8600 vertical black lines printing when you use the scanner/copier of SMA

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus model N911g that I got a year out of warranty. Worked perfectly until this week when I scanned approximately 50 pages through the ADM.  During the process of digitisation of the black vertical lines began to appear on documents that are scanned or print (color or BW) through the ADM.  Scanning or printing directly from the scanner glass is not the problem.

I checked, cleaned and cleaned all (rolls, strip scanning, scanning glass) it is possible via the information provide in these forums from other veins knows on their production lines.  No change...

I unplugged the printer all the network and fax cables and tried scanning or copying with the power of the device, NO CHANGE.  Don't know what the next step might be other than the factory reset (don't have documentation on this process).  Additional suggestions would be appreciated.

  • 8600 Officejet Pro 8600 no more stopped printing

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus 8600 that I installed on my home wireless router.  I use a Dell laptop with the Windows 7 operating system.  I have installed the printer without a problem when I bought it a month ago.  A few days ago, I tried to print a page before going to my work and could not operate.  I don't think much since I'm in a hurry, but later when I returned from work, that my printer was still not working.  I unplugged the printer and close the router and the laptop.  I rebooted everything and always the printer would not work.  No test page or anything.  I uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled and the Test of Fax report prints fine, but when I tried to run the printer test page, I got the error message "Unable to communicate with the printer."  I have worked on this for two days now and nothing I will work.  I used the doctor Print and evrything goes, but still no luck.  Help please?

WEEL I finally thought to it.  My McAfee did an update that wiped out my ability to print.  I changed the settings for McAfee and I was able to print again.  Thanks for your help!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: problem of print head

Have had this printer for a couple of years without any problems.  All of a sudden getting the message: printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed. Lived all the recommended diagnostic checks but still a problem. I got it working the first time but then after a few days print message pops up again. The message won't let me come back to the homescreen on the printer.  I took it by a realignment and the printer prints a test page. If the printhead has been the problem, then I thought that he would not be able to print a test page. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your support Gemini02.  As well as through the HP recommended diagnostic tests I blush as the printhead to hot water, but still the same message. I also downloaded and reloaded the drivers, but to no avail.  The machine is 3.5 years old and so I came to the conclusion, it exceeded its use by date.  The cost of a new print head is $ 70 while the printer, HP Officejet pro 8600, is now manufactured and was replaced by the Officejet pro 8620 which sold $275 by HP.  HP said that because of the age of the printer, there is no guarantee that a new printhead will not solve the problem.  I then bit the bullet and ordered a new printer.

  • OfficeJet pro 8600: Officejet Pro 8600 Connect USB on Windows 10

I've recently updated Windows 8.1 to Windows Pro 10. I lost connection to my Officejet Pro 8600. When I try to reinstall using the HP CD, the system does not recognize the USB cable is connected. The cable I use (which came with the printer) is not under any stress, so I don't think the USB cable is defective. How can I fix? Thank you!

    Hi @ThreeofSeven,

    Welcome to the HP forum.

I understand that you have recently upgraded to Windows 8.1 to Windows Pro 10 and when you try to install using the installation disk supplied with the printer is not recognizing the USB cable. I want to help you with that.

I would like to start by uninstalling all HP Officejet Pro 8600 previously installed software and drivers.

    1. If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.

2 Windows search to uninstall a program, and then click the control panel to uninstall a program in the list of results.

    3. in the list of installed programs, click the name of your HP printer, and then click Uninstall or Yes to confirm uninstallation.

    4. follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation of software.

    5 restart the computer.

Then, use the HP printer installation wizard to install the latest version of the software and drivers for your printer. Note: wait until you are prompted to connect the USB cable.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

In fact, if it helps you to find a solution, please click on the 'accept as Solution' and the 'thumbs up' buttons down below in this message.

    Thank you!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a will not print from Windows 8.1

I have a HP printer Officejet Pro 8600 N911a that returns the 72234 error code everytime I try to print a document from my Windows 8.1 desktop (HP 1520 t).

Also, there is a single instance of error code 74899

The same document prints fine on my Windows 7 Desktop and my Windows 7 Netbook.

Firmware of the printer is: CLP1CN1416AR

Firmware from the Support Page of the printer appears as: CLP1CN1322CR (2014-07-18)

What should I do next to be able to print from my computer Windows 8.1.

    Steve

Note: This is the first issue I had with this printer that was bought a year ago.

Hello Steve, I hope you're well

Thanks for getting back to me with your info!

Yes, I would first of all, running the wizard of wireless configuration from the front panel of the printer (installation program, Menu, Assistant wireless network), make sure that the printer is connected to your network, then proceed to uninstall the printer, restart the PC and reinstall them both back on your computer.

I hope that this is the solution!

    Have a great Monday!

  • N Officejet Pro 8600: error message says printer malfunctions... really?

OfficeJet all-in-one 8600 printed a sheet and then not print again.  Error message on the screen indicates "there is a problem with the printer or ink system.  Turn the printer off, then on.  If a problem persists, contact HP. "I tried to do and was met with a brusque respoonse telling me that my warranty was expired.  It is tied to a way to re - define the printer, but I can't understand what it is, nor can I identify any type of problem with the provided 'tools'.  All cartridges have been checked to ensure that they always have an acceptable level of ink.

The steps outlined in the document here may help resolve the error on your printer Officejet Pro 8600.  If you arrive at eight solution without success it can help to remove the print head as shown in the first step of the document here and clean the electrical contacts on the back.  Use a clean wet coffee filter or some other no fluffy to clean the electrical contacts on the print head as well as on the surfaces of contact on the printer.
