OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus ADF problems

I have a new machine.  Everything seems to work fine, except the ADF.  Whenever I try to transmit documents in the ADF, it tells me that there is no jammed paper and there is no.  It is brand new.  I tried to turn the slot and turn off machine, unplug the power cord for 30 seconds.  I can scan and copy from the glass, but not from the ADF.  I tried a leaf up to 20 sheets with no luck.  Please help, the ADF file is very important that I am able to use it.  Thanks in advance!

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus - ADF scanning problem

    Hello

I recently bought this printer and used without problem for almost 2 months. However, right now I am struggling with the ADF.

When I put a document to scan by ADF, I have a thin, black line on re-impressions. It is on the right side of the page, starts from everything at the top and goes down all the way.

I have even if it is a kind of alignment line (you know when we write try, or its composition, leave us space on both sides)

This problem does not exist when I scan and print documents of old school way, aka analysis usual. Only the ADF documents'ed have this problem a little. (The thin black line on things reprinted)

    Any recommendations?

    Best regards

Update: I did what jason_h suggested in step 1 and it worked, this can be closed:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: cartridge problem 8600

Message seemed to change all cartridges - I changed two a couple of days, so they need not all change - black was about due for a change, so I took them all out - replaced black... had the same message...

Replaced all - same message now also "one or more cartridges are missing or damaged.  I stop the printer and also rebooted my computer, but the error message is still displayed.   Someone mentioned a hard reset previously, but the link is not led anywhere... can anyone help?  Thank you very much...

    Hi @Paula15,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have found a cartridge problem message on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. I'm happy to discuss this issue for you!

Please have a look through this guide, an 'ink cartridge failure', not 'compatible ink cartridges', or 'Ink cartridge problem' Error Message appears on the printer. You will want to ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges does not, and if one of your colors is low or empty, they will need to be replaced as well. Check out this guide, printing with depleted cartridges, for more information.

Hope this information is useful and have a beautiful day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus connection problem - HELP!

I have a strange problem: after a few hours, the communication link fell between the computer and the printer.  In this case, IE becomes unusable and not connect what either.  It is replicated on three XP Home machines.   The fourth, a vista ultimate machine, doesn't seem to be affected (yet).  I get the error "the computer scan is disabled.  It cannot be reactivated.  At this stage I can't print.  I can reach the web server embedded on the printer via firefox and can still surf using firefox.  I can ping the printer, but again, once the connection is dropped, no printing or scanning the computer.  The only thing I found that solves this problem (temporarily) is to restart the computer, which starts the cycle again.

last night, I installed the software on a XP machine and the laptop to test when the connection has been lost.  They lasted from 19:00 on Monday until what I came at 17:00 Tuesday.  The machines were not used.  Once I started using (firefox only), and then they abandoned the connection in a half hour apart around 19:00.  The other XP machine lasted from 19:00 until 07:00 TUE MON, when my wife started to use it and then noticed he fell somewhere between 7 and 09:00 on Tuesday.  A 11:00 TUE restart ran OK until 22:00 Tuesday when the connection has been broken again (and IE is now dead).   The Vista machine works since 19:00 Monday (930 pm TUE) so far and seems to hold.

printer cable, at 100-a lot of router link speed, IP address static, (also tried 10-half)

    router dlink di-655

two XP machines are wired, vista is wired and last xp machine is a laptop on the wireless.

I exchanged cables, rebooted and reinstalled several times.  I have a file a long mile on the telephone support line.  They couldn't remedy.  I asked this to escalate, but who knows when I will get an answer.

I have enabled firewall - integrated XP

    I uninstalled the antivirus software

I even put in place with support like crazy suggestions change the channel of the router (uh, it's wired!)

an xp machine had a 4215 AIO connected via the USB port and the other prints to him via the network, but the printer was deleted machines on a network.

I can ping 127.0.0.1, which is supposed to indicate that the tcp service is OK.

I do not have reset winsock... I see a machine being bad, but three?

malware / virus scan shows no problem.  Once again one perhaps, but three?

The only thing I can think is that there is something in the network stack XP which is in conflict with the new software of 8600 hours pass.  There may be an operation of the poll which lights up then dies after a while, then he kills IE he is dying.

When the printer works it's great, but the restart is not a permanent solution to this.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  I am confused and therefore support.  They send him to the genius, but who knows when they will answer.

    Thanks in advance.

Our investigation into this issue, we found a workaround solution that will help with this.

    Follow the steps below.

    1. Please go to Hp software-> Printer Preferences - > Maintenance-> advanced settings tasks

2 selects the second radio under 'Alerts Show', 'don't show me alerts ink when printing.

    3. now restart your PC to make sure that the setting is saved.

    Enclosed is the screen.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus - Duplex printing problem

I use a printer Officejet Pro 8600 Plus (what is the best printer I've ever had, apart from this problem!).  I use it with Windows 8.1.

He struggles for more than a few pages print using duplex.  The problem seems to get worse when I print a pdf file.  It starts to print very well and made a few pages, but then I get this message "error on HP Officejet Pro 8600.  "Could not print * name * folder.  It appears on the computer not the printer.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hey there @operationorphan

I just wanted to add my own suggestions here for the issue of two-sided printing that you had with your Officejet 8600.

You can try to update the firmware: get the latest Firmware and updates

If this does not help, try to uninstall the printer software , reboot the PC and reinstall the printer. This should dissipate all software problems.

    I hope that helps!

If troubleshooting doesn't help not solve your problem, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions: click here.

  • Connected HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus status reads "problem with printer."

I could just ePrint on an OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus replacement and them have not used for printing yet. I was in the devices page to manage the settings and change an address for one of my devices. The newly added column 8600 State reads 'Online', but also 'problem with printer '. Instructions I was referring to the display panel of the unit for Outlook2003 on the given problem. A check of the display surface showed no information, just a typical home screen. I checked through the display print and found no problems-all functionality is enabled and fully functioning. I checked then the functions of printer in the window 'Printers and devices' of all computers (all running Windows 7 Professional) on the office network. The 8600 are active and full functionality works correctly between the printer and all the computers.

I then close the printer 8600, left for several minutes, and then lit it back and reconnected. The State says 'Problem with printer' remains in the device window HP.

I am at a loss as to what this supposed problem can be and don't know what should be a next step. Does anyone have any advice or information that could help in this situation? It would be appreciated. Thanks in advance to those who could help

HP support responded to my question by e-mail. I was told that the message 'Problem with the printer' is due to a bug in their system. Also said that as long as the status column indicates the printer is "Online" and everything else is fnctioning correctly, don't worry about this.

I consider that a resolution of the post!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus "unspecified printer problem.

I've just set up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-all-in-one.  The establishment seemed fine, but when I go to the tab "devices" to "HP" connected there a sign yellow and says that I have a problem with my printer.  When I click on the symbol of the performance, the box says that "a non specifiedproblem has been reported." Please check your printer. ' When I check the printer control panel, there is no reported problem.  The machine seems to print OK, but I want to clarify this error that appears.  Any ideas?

Also, I've done the restart and sign-off/sign-in stuff, so we can move on to the second order troubleshooting.  Thank you.

Welcome to the HP support community!

This error has been reported several times here on the Forum and still no resolution of HP.

I have the same printer and the same error is reported.  While inconvenient, feel free to ignore it!  :-)

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: vertical line when scanning

I get a vertical line when I scan using the document feeder.  I do not understand when scanning the glass plate. I need assistance to access the mirror slider.  I raised the lid for the loading of documents, but I couldn't find out how to get under the rollers to clean the mirror. Thank you

The document here can help solve the black lines to scan using the ADF on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  From my experience this is almost always caused by a specification on the thin glass on the side left which is used for scanning using the ADF.  Cleaning of this area as described in the above document should solve the problem.  If the initial cleanup does not resolve the problem, it can help to shine a bright flashlight almost parallel to the glass.  For a line on the left side of the printed page, the place will be toward the front of the printer, if the line is on the right side of the document, it must correspond to a specification to the rear of the printer.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus the Scanner Software

    Hello

I'm a big fan of HP products.  My last several printers, scanners and computers were all HP.

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus to replace an older machine with similar features (ADF, duplex, etc.).  The previous machine was also an HP printer.

The problem I encounter is that the software appears to have been downgraded.  The software on my previous machine had the ability to automatically analyze the photos laid on the flat bed scanner in individual jpg.  With the software on this computer, it seems that I need to manually crop each image.  The options for optimization of each picture, eliminating scratches, automatically adjust color, sharpness, etc. are all gone.

I really miss these features.  I found that I had been using a "basic" version of the software.  I installed the full version and found it a little different, but it still lacks the automatic selection of the image and image tweaks I did this inveterate of.

Is it possible to recover these options?

    Thank you

    -MrXmas

What I found there are some good options based on their comments, I'm not sure if they will have all the features you're looking for, but...

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus exemplary prints with black streaks

I just bought a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus and it seems to work perfectly when printing; However, when I tried to copy something, the copy came out with black streaks that close to unreadable printing and are more dark/concentrate toward the left side of the page.

How can I solve this problem?

@Imagehappy, you have the more than 8600 or a different version of the 8600?

The reason for the question is because I want to give you a link to update the firmware.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Scan quality issue

    Hello

I just set up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, and everything seems to work properly.  I am really disappointed by the quality of the images so, so I thought I'd see if anyone has experienced the same problem?

The scanned images are very dynamic, but are too.  Detail is lost in the scan either because the brightness, or because the scanner is not properly using the resolution I have him ask to scan (600 dpi).  I have tried various different brightness and contrast settings in the scan dialog, nothing helps.  Printing HP and Scan Doctor reported no problem.  Increase the resolution of scanning on the 8600 is not helped either.

I joined a segment of an image of the 8600 and a lot cheaper all-in-one I expected to replace, a canon mp630.  I have bought the 8600 because the scanner component had good reviews, but based on my experience, that I'm starting to have my doubts!

Please let me know if you think there's nothing I can do to improve the quality of the scans?

    I use Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

    Thank you

    Pete

8600 scan 600 dpi (Note lack of paper grain)

Canon MP630, 600 dpi (capture of paper grain, wash the details)

Unfortunately, I must point out that the replacement was no better.  It's a real shame, old flat scanner HP I was replacing with the ACM was high quality, but the Pro 8600 scanner was simply not enough good.

Ultimately I exchanged for another manufacturer MFP that produces a large part analysis better (even if printing is not as good).

I had much rather have paid more for a higher quality scan on the HP, but this option is not available to me, which is a shame!  On the 8600 Pro scan color reproduction was great, but there not only to capture the details.

You can adjust for color problems in the software, but if the detail is not captured, you can't put it in!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: network capability are not available

    Dear Sirs,

The Officejet Pro 8600 Plus has already been set for a wireless connection. It was primarily used with the USB port.

We've tried lately set up the wireless connection, and we couldn't.

We received the message: network capabilities are not available.

We tried the factory reset, buit didn't work.

I appreciate your help to resolve this isse.

Please come back to me @Shahin_ij. I think the printer reset will solve the problem. I'll send you a PM (private Message), but before I do, please see the HP Privacy Statement.

This privacy statement informs you of our privacy practices and the choices you can make about the way information about you and your online activity is collected and how that information is used. This statement is available on our homepage at the bottom of each web page of HP and HP.com.

There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

  • E-mail print Officejet Pro 8600 Plus

I can't print from email, I can print PDFS and all documents in word or excel, but not email.  I reinstall the software and the same thing happens.  All of the suggestions. Officejet Pro 8600 Plus with Windows 7 using.

    How to access your e-mail?

    * Do you connect to a service of e-mail via a web browser?

    * Or you are using a client such as MS Outlook e-mail software?

If you log on to an e-mail via a web browser client, then you do in Internet Explorer?  Have you tried multiple browsers to ensure that the problem does not follow?

I would also try another driver, such as the driver of c 990, to see if it is a driver compatibility problem.  For more information about how to use another driver, see thread of Shane_R found here.  I hope this helps.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus: Officejet Pro 8600 Plus 'Sweep of Pin code function' Windows 10?

In Win7 that I could click on start/programs go to HP, click on and he would drag with various categories which was Scan. I could then pin the shortcut to scan on my desktop or start.

However, falls with Win10 you click on all the Apps/HP Officejet Pro 8600 most and there is nothing to see but pin all of the module that is already on the desk of the installation.

How can I get just the pinned shortcut to scan?

I tried directly open scan with the .exe only two that had the word scan in the programs but the scan did not open.

    Hi @markg2,

Thank you for showing your interest in the HP's Support Forums!

I see that you want to create a shortcut to the HP scanning. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I understand how frustrating this is for you. Windows 10 has made some changes, so that the steps are slightly different from Windows 7.

Please follow these steps as a guideline:

    1. First of all, we need to locate HP Scan where on the computer. The default location is in Program Files. For example, C:\Program Files (X 86) \HP or Hewlett-Packard.
    2. Go to (C:\Program Files (X 86) \HP or Hewlett Packard HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus\Bin)
    3. Right-click on HP Scan, and then click send to.
    4. Left click on desktop (create shortcut) to place the shortcut on the desktop.

For more information, see this paper:
Create the shortcut on the desktop in Windows 10 for a program (announced)?

I hope this information is useful. Please reply to this message with the results. Good luck!
