After having been able to print from my MacBook Air, I get now I checked the printer the printer "printer in use" message and it is usable by my MacBook Pro. Any suggestions?
Try to restart your printer by it turn off and unplug for 30 seconds before feeding it back up again. If this does not help, restart your MAC too.

I'm trying to scan pictures to my computer. Have upgraded to windows 10. My printer is connected wifi. I bring the printer in Control Panel, set up my printer and it says printer is offline. Indications are no good they do not appear to be implemented for users windows 10. When I try to go to the hp support for windows 10, I have just a white screen. I am very frustrated. I can print to the printer, but he won't let me not scan to the computer, and that's what I need.

OfficeJet pro 8600 print a single vertical black line when using the charger
I see that you have found one black vertical line when using the ADF. With a few steps, we should be able to solve this problem.
Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
Here is a document for the cleaning of the glass Strip and the underside of the scanner cover.

I just got the color cartridges refilled at Costco. Now, my printer does not print in color. I printed out a diagnosis and cartridges are showing that they are full. The actual color of magenta is a deep rose, so I know that some of the magenta is crossing. Cyan (blue) and yellow printed black on diagnostic tests. I know that Costco filled cartridges with the appropriate color because I can see the color on/in the cartridge. Suggestions on what to try? I bought the printer on January 27, 2013.

My name is Steve and I have a question. I apologize in advance if I'm duplicating this question from another thread.
Our office has 3 computers connected to a router. The HP Officejet Pro 8600 is connected to the network. There is a problem with 2 of the calculated.
The question is then 2 3 computers (1 running XP Professional, 1 running Windows 7 Professional are booted up (off) to the printer start printing gibberish and going to print until its cancellation.) Printing will start until Windows has loaded the login window (user account screen).
Any suggestions? The major functions of printer for everything else.
We use the same previous printer cable. However, we can certainly try another cable. There is no problem printing with any of the programs that we use with the exception of one of them, (known compatibility issue).
At this point, we don't know if the gibberish that prints to the windows startup is a problem with windows or perhaps the network.
I bought my Officejet Pro 8600 on 4 June 2014. I use windows 7-32 bit, everything worked fine until June 25, when I got an error message when you try to print saying "unable to communiucate with printer. I ran out and the printer worked again. On June 27 the same message, but his time of 8 hours of troubleshooting has not solved the problem. During a clean reinstall everything if fine, green all ticks, then all at once the connection is lost, managed to print a document during this time, but then print to square 1. Sometimes the software automatically detects the Lan connection and sometimes I have to put the IP address but two methods fail after a short time. I closed my firewall, but that made no difference. Talked to my son who is a computer expert and it is strange to have the same problem with its HP printers, which it has failed to resolve yet. I am 72 years old and have reached the point of despair that nothing seems to work and I've only had the printer for 3 weeks, that I would really appreciate if you have a solution. cordially 2dx2DX
You run any type of anti-virus program?
Create a new TCP/IP port with the static IP address assigned to the printer.
Do not use the Port of discovery of HP created by the installation of the printer driver.
I'm running vista 64 on an asus p5qc with a q9550 with intel and 8 GB of ram. I downloaded the software for a hp officejet pro 8600 and it worked for a wireless configuration, while it stops. I was impossible to uninstall or install the program.
Try again with the doctor of printing:

The center of printing solutions shows my Photosmart C5580. No idea how to add an OfficeJet Pro 8600?
Shlomi Hi and thanks for a quick response.
I had hoped to add 8600 Solution Center as an HP upgrade / download link in the menu Wizard printer you mention using the icon, re - set the default printer for the "8600 Fax.
He also changed the list of this menu screen to be only four: HP printer Asst (but does nothing when a click), Set Prefs, see what printing and the printer to customize.
Previous menu, as you no doubt refers, had several printer features that included all submenu links functions, I used (including to scan a doc, preferences, etc.). Frustrating...
After uninstalling and reinstalling, tweaking, etc, I always have this quick menu by clicking on the icon of tune. I have tried different methods of scanning as the right click on the printer in Control Panel devices, but the scanning from which lead to a horrible list of basic functions, a confusing list of formats, etc.
Finally, I did a scan in the screen menu of the printer who made a point "scan" in the Start Menu, I right click it to pin that on the Start Menu, then created a new shortcut on the desktop with the path to him... and now the icon / printer works to get the menu scanning. Phew!
About the loss of the Solution Center is regrettable. Very handy tool to do the various tasks and the refinements of a scanned document that do not exist in the limited functions / buttons on the 8600 scan menu results.
At the same time and while I'm... To the laserjet subject large workhorse of HP LJet 1320, several other positions and all forums have problems loss of functionality after passage from XP to Win7. I finally got all but one device works (PCL6/5th, printing on both sides, etc.), but the pilot is only 600 dpi quality close to the project, instead of the prior 1200 dpi (especially good for forms, thin fonts, etc..). Which is just a discharge on the technology and support for the products that brought me as a customer to use HP in the first place.
Thanks again for your reply and your suggestions. Ready to try anything to solve the so-called reliable downloads / upgrades.
Printer works fine.
However, the HP support the program "HP OfficeJet Pro 8600" will not start. I can see it in the HP folder under all programs, but clicking on the program name has no effect. The program name poins to "C:\Program HP HP Officejet Pro 8600\Bin\HP Officejet Pro 8600.exe" - UDCDevicePage Start
In addition, in devices and printers in Control Panel, the printer connected displays. By double clicking on the icon takes me to...
Opening HP All - in - One Printer Remote takes me to the window right... but the printer shows offline, and the various functions (scan, fax, etc.) are not available. (As noted, the printer is currently online, and I can print correctly.
Connection to the wireless printer.
All these functions work fine if I call them from the physical control on the front of the printer Panel.
I don't know if these are two separate issues, or the two aspects of the same problem.
Try to install the following hotfix, then try to open the HP Officejet Pro 8600 software:
You can see any difference?
Printer does not print in black and white only, even if this option has been selected by "Printer properties" or "Printer Preferences".
Please read this post then provide some details. There the error messages on the computer screen or the printer?
The Officejet Pro 8600 series has separate heads for printing and ink supplies. To protect the print head of damage the printer requires all inks to be present to print in black only. If one or more of the inks are exhausted, they must be replaced to allow printing.
I installed a new set of cartridges (black and color) in my printer HP Officejet Pro 8600 today and now it won't print a document. I did everything I knew to do that isn't much. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the printer without success. I am a 71 year grandmother, who is working on a project for my grandson. A kind person out there in cyperspace could you please give me some advice on how to restore my printer? Thank you! Sharon-
I'm so bad that down below where I have to select a category, I don't know even what to check, because I don't think my problem apply to one of them. It's just a problem with a printer. Will you please excuse anything I check because I do not know and there is no "miscellaneous" category
Thank you very much for the reply. After "fiddling around" with the cartridges, uninstalling and reinstalling etc, I finally got to work.
Thanks again for your response! I appreciate your time!
I have problems printing my printer HP Officejet Pro 8600. When I am able to print the process is extremely slow and the printer made a lot of noise before and during printing. In addition, the margins are off compared to those on the document itself. The left margin is so great that it is cut a part of the document on the right side. I tried to unplug and restart the device and it is set back to the factory, but the questions remain. I printed a test page and it looks good, but speed, noise and margins continue to be a problem. How can I fix these problems?
What you mentioned, it seems that something is happening with the material. Here are two links to try to fix it, please choose the one that corresponds to the computer you have
I try to print my wedding invitations. The documents are WORD documents and they are not your standard size models. For example, one is 5.85x5.85 but when I print them I get the error of mixmatch. How do I get my printer to use a custom paper size? Will be a sad day if I can't print my invitations.
Hi @SouthernFried and welcome to the Forums of HP!
I see you are having problems printing of your invitations. I'd be happy to try to help!
I'm including a list of the formats supported for this printer paper:
Also, I recommend the following on:
Invitations, they have any kind of border on it pre printed?
