OfficeJet Pro 8620: Mac + Office Jet Pro 8620 real cartridge awards issue (yet?)

Hi people

I'm having the same rewards problem as I've found reported by others on older versions of the software (OS and printing).

Just dropped in 2 new trucks today and got the reward are popping up, but when I click on claim I get an "error retrieving device information. I tried in the HP utility and if I select the device information, I get the info from back, but then selecting the award event in the Message Center I get the same error!

Any help would be appreciated

Thank you

Paul

My Officejet Pro 8500 had a leak of ink all over the floor and my office yesterday morning when I first turned on.  When I opened the top to check the printheads, I discovered all ink inside the printer.  I think we just need recycling.  My problem: I have 5 UN-opened of HP #940 ink cartridges.  I would return to HP and get the replacement cartridges for our different printer, but do not have how to find out if this is possible.

I need to print labels, sometimes one and sometimes pages of them.  When I put a sheet of labels in the Office Jet 3830 (in Word 16) the stuck sheet and would not go through the printer.  I can't find any way to adjust the thickness of the paper, not something thick like a page of blank labels.  If the printer has this function, how can I activate it?

Range of all-in-one printers, HP OfficeJet 3830

    Full software features:

    File name: OJ3830_72.exe

The specificationsindicate that the printer software can handle one type of media (paper type), titled "letter of card Index".

Set your printing preferences / Print Preview to include

    • Media type 'Index Card letter'
    • Paper size: letter

If includes it the list of media type, you can also try 'Matte of the Brochure' (wording varies)

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus Scan quality issue

    Hello

I just set up my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus, and everything seems to work properly.  I am really disappointed by the quality of the images so, so I thought I'd see if anyone has experienced the same problem?

The scanned images are very dynamic, but are too.  Detail is lost in the scan either because the brightness, or because the scanner is not properly using the resolution I have him ask to scan (600 dpi).  I have tried various different brightness and contrast settings in the scan dialog, nothing helps.  Printing HP and Scan Doctor reported no problem.  Increase the resolution of scanning on the 8600 is not helped either.

I joined a segment of an image of the 8600 and a lot cheaper all-in-one I expected to replace, a canon mp630.  I have bought the 8600 because the scanner component had good reviews, but based on my experience, that I'm starting to have my doubts!

Please let me know if you think there's nothing I can do to improve the quality of the scans?

    I use Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit.

    Thank you

    Pete

8600 scan 600 dpi (Note lack of paper grain)

Canon MP630, 600 dpi (capture of paper grain, wash the details)

Unfortunately, I must point out that the replacement was no better.  It's a real shame, old flat scanner HP I was replacing with the ACM was high quality, but the Pro 8600 scanner was simply not enough good.

Ultimately I exchanged for another manufacturer MFP that produces a large part analysis better (even if printing is not as good).

I had much rather have paid more for a higher quality scan on the HP, but this option is not available to me, which is a shame!  On the 8600 Pro scan color reproduction was great, but there not only to capture the details.

You can adjust for color problems in the software, but if the detail is not captured, you can't put it in!

  • Pre sale question: Officejet Pro X476dw - ink cartridges

    Hello

I have a couple of pre sale question on the Officejet Pro X476dw - I hope you can help me with.

I live in Denmark (EU) and in the book loads, it says that it comes with startup ink cartridges (translated from Danish). What these specifications of starter ink contains less ink than normal cartridges don't - if so - no idea how many pages they can produce before they empty?

As to the number of products: it says CN461A - but to some websites, it is called CN461A #A80 - is this the same printer? And what does the #A80?

The ink cartridges have an expiration date. What happens after that date: the printer will require new cartridges before it will print anything if it can damage the printer to use ink after the expiry date - or what the print quality is affected?

Q: it comes with startup ink (translated from Danish). These start ink specifications contains less ink than normal cartridges only

A: Yes.  It's half in full by a quarter from a new normal cartridge.  Pagecounts are all depends on a lot and what you print.

Q: it says CN461A - but to some websites, it is called CN461A #A80

A: the extra #A80 is probably a regional identifier.  Its basically the same printer but built with some regulation is necessary for your region as energy consumption.

Q: the ink cartridges have an expiration date. What happens after that date

A: the ink are deteriorating and are more likely to plug in your print heads and contacts.

Q: the printer will require new cartridges before it will print anything

A: not necessarily, but it is advisable to listen to your printers of warning messages

Q: can the printer to be used after the expiry date of the ink

R: damage, maybe not the best term.  It would cause clogs in the ink system that will require additional support.  When the hooves can not be erased then the printer may need to be replaced.

Q: or what the quality of the print is affected?

R: technically Yes, but the quality will be not noticeable in most cases with an outdated cartridge.  The ink won't be able to apply paper and take a nice full round, resulting in a glance more stained on a microsopic level.  Your concern should be on the maintenance of the equipment.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus: cartridge problem 8600

Message seemed to change all cartridges - I changed two a couple of days, so they need not all change - black was about due for a change, so I took them all out - replaced black... had the same message...

Replaced all - same message now also "one or more cartridges are missing or damaged.  I stop the printer and also rebooted my computer, but the error message is still displayed.   Someone mentioned a hard reset previously, but the link is not led anywhere... can anyone help?  Thank you very much...

    Hi @Paula15,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have found a cartridge problem message on your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. I'm happy to discuss this issue for you!

Please have a look through this guide, an 'ink cartridge failure', not 'compatible ink cartridges', or 'Ink cartridge problem' Error Message appears on the printer. You will want to ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges does not, and if one of your colors is low or empty, they will need to be replaced as well. Check out this guide, printing with depleted cartridges, for more information.

Hope this information is useful and have a beautiful day!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus touch screen issue

    Hello

I have an officejet pro 8600 and the touch screen has a very annoying attribute. The touchscreen overlay coincide with the screen itself. On the left side, the overlay is in the correct position, but when you move to the right the overlay gets more and more mismatch of whats on the screen. For example, when the screen is showing a keyboard it is indeed impossible to type a '0' (zero) as 1 mm from the right side of the overlay gives a "9".

I used to have a windows device THIS old iPaq you rebooted it asked you at each of the corners touch in turn so that he could align the screen with the touch screen overlay. The more than 8600 there any possibility to align the overlay, perhaps with a downloadable application, or am I stuck with not be able to use certain bits of functionality on the printer because the overlay align properly?

    Stuart Watton

Sorry, but this printer does not have the opportunity to download an application, or align the touch screen. It is more of a hardware issue, and you must contact the Support HP (1800-474-6836). I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: HP 6830 Scan Issues

I just bought my 6830 and it prints well.  I just tried to scan for the first time (on computer) and had an error:

One of these problems has occurred:

The connection to the computer has been lost.  (Prints fine then no)

The application of scanning the computer is currently in use (do not think)

An OCR application is not installed on the computer.  (Don't know what it is)

I had a HP Officejet before and it parsed correctly.  Do I need a new OCR application?  If Yes, where can I get it?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Officejet Pro K5400 defective cartridge message

Replace a black "defective" by a new cartride.   Still getting the message "defective".   Full poster ink tank.  Pinhead have been cleaned and displays well.   The printer prints the report.   Help/advice please.  With the help of Mac Lion

According to the lights are flashing, consult this document lights flashing for it.

This document offers some troubleshooting options that can help you. However, one thing I would try is a reset power coercive. Powered up, remove the cartridge from boredom. Close the ink access door. Do not turn off the printer with the power button. Instead, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds. Then reconnect the power cord to the printer. Turn on the printer. Open the door of ink. Take a look at the location of the ink, just to be sure, that there is not a large excess ink in the stall. Reinsert the ink cartridge. Close the door. Once the noise stop, turn off the printer by the power button. Then turn it back on. If all goes well, will erase the question. If this is not the case, see if this document offers help.

My printer will print is more because the yellow ink cartridge is beyond its expiration date.

The message I get from the printer tells me that I can click on the "OK button" on the printer to substitute the prohibitioin impression, but there is no such button on the printer. "  The message says:

  • OfficeJet Pro K850 - ink cartridge does not print

My K850 printer is not printing cyan. According to the Toolbox of the K850, cartridge series cyan was 75%, and the health of the print head has been fair. The cyan cartridge was beyond its expiration date I replaced it. The new cartridge does not better than the old cartridge print. Before I spend another $40.00 + did someone has something to suggest?

Although the cleaning of the print head has helped a little, it did not help, so I bought a new cyan print head. When I installed the new print head, the printer automatically aligned to the printhead and now cyan works very well. Unfortunately, the alignment process pointed out flaws in magenta and Yellow Printhead. Now everytime that I print anything the printer goes through a continuous systematic alignment printhead to try to correct the magenta and Yellow Printhead, waste of paper and ink, until I cancel all print jobs. New cleaning of the printheads and the contacts did not help. In the end, no matter what is the status of print head in the tool box, replacing the print heads is the only solution that worked.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 A909a - cartridges rejectted

Made the terrible mistake using a substitutecartridges less expensive from a supplier online which worked well for a while.  Just a little time, however.

Just replaced with genuine HP cartridges, but they are all rejected by the printer.  Message tells me that they (listing all of them) appear to be missing or damaged.

I tried the HP Support and drew a blank.

I took them.  Out during a few minutes and replaced all the cartridges, but still the unhappy message flashes to me.

Now huh?  Would be grateful for any suggestions before as I throw the printer and HP NINE cartridges by the window!  Thank you.

    Hi @Daisy99,

  • Officejet Pro 8600 ink cartridge error

one or more cartridges seem to be damaged K.  Message appeared after replacing the exhausted original install black cartridge.  I replaced the cartridge to spare with a new cartridge, nothing helps.  I cleaned the contacts and even replaced all the original cartridges installation, once again nothing is.  This is a wireless printer and PC using a windows 7 Home premium OS.  It seems that a printer problem not connected to a PC or a BONE.  It's the HP printer 2nd I have who has the same problem.  All suggestions except substitute the printer?

@ REBjr.  -I understand that you are getting the error message on the printer that is related to the print cartridges.  Are you using genuine HP unfilled ink in the printer? I would like to start by doing a hard reset of the product to try to put the printer back into a known working state and try to clear the error message before replacing parts.  Here is a document that provides the steps for the hard reset.  Also, is there residue on the black cartridge?  If so, I would look at this link here. It aims to get a printer ink cartridge error message when you try to install a new black cartridge in the machine. I hope this helps.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 paper Premium - Legal Issues

This printer supports legal communication, and it prints on legal paper but:

    (1) I am unable to get it printing double-sided paper legal?  I thought he did it?

    (2) the album paper Manager (were the printouts) says he's set to A4/Letter but what print legal paper, the document of clusters to the top where is spell.  It seems that this must slide to accommodate legal paper, but I can't figure out how to do this?  The end result is that of legal paper jams their output.

    (3) I had set up the printer so that the Tray 1 (top) letter-size and tray 2 was legal.  Unfortunately, in the order of the printer print on legal paper I had to put the lower shelf as the default tray (it does not automatically detect letter / legal) and once I did that it won't return to letter-size (even by resetting the default to the letter).   The only solution I found was to install the legal on tray 1 and the letter on tray 2.   Is it a software error?

    Thank you...

Hi, the 8600 is printing double-sided legal impossible.

The 8600 does not automatically detect the type of paper in the tray (s).
