OfficeJet Pro 8620: No Internet connection / Proxy request

The screen has a yellow triangle with a! on the first icon on the bottom row.

When I click it, I get an error message saying: no Internet connection and asking if I have a Proxy, which I did not.

The problem started about a month when I noticed the puzzle page that subscribe to stopped coming.

Reset the printer to the factory/network settings and try again. He should not ask a proxy in a domestic environment.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thank you for using the HP Forums.

You can use a USB cable to connect directly to your printer.  (do not connect the USB cable first! Read more on how to add a new printer (connection))

You will need to install the software to add the extra connection.

Assuming that you have installed the FULL features software, follow these steps to add the USB connection:

    1. click on start. Programs > HP > HP Officejet Pro 8620 > click on the printer

(you can also click the icon of the printer on the desktop)

    2. This will bring up the HP printer Assistant

    3. go to "Tools" > Device Setup & Software

("Note: this is not available in step 1: Device Setup and software")

    4. connect a new printer.

    5. DO NOT connect the USB cable until you are prompted to do so by the software!

Once installed, the USB should be the default printer.  If you want to print using the wireless again, you will need to select the correct printer with wireless as a result.

    Hope that helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: ePrint Internet connection problem on Officejet Pro 8610

I work in a shared office.  I just got my printer & want to set up ePrint.  I got an error message saying that both the computer and the printer must use the same internet network.  But my computer is using my personal Internet & I put the printer to use the network wifi internet.

I would like to take advantage of the options, which allows, ePrint offer?  Both the printer & computer do I have to use the same internet network or can be on different?

Allowing ePrint can be performed on the print directly. To change the settings on ePrint (access authorization, custom, etc. e-mail addresses), you can use any computer with web access, on hpconnected.com. ePrint works exactly like mail, then the computer can be on any network.

The computer needs to be on the same network only when you want to print to it as a network printer.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: HP Officejet Pro 8620 - problem with wireless connection w/computer

    Hi all

I recently bought the HP Officejet Pro 8620 and I have problems connecting with my computer.

I used the Setup Wizard to connect the printer to the wireless network of my University, and when it's over, the blue light of connectivity remains a solid blue and the screen says it is connected, which is great. However, when I use the HP Officejet Pro 8620/software of connection instillation, I always get the message,

"-L' the entered IP address is either incorrect, or it is another wireless network that has the same name as your network." Please ensure that your printer has this IP or enter the correct address below and click on search. Also, confirm that you wireless network is unique. »

I did somehow on the printer IP address is copied 100% exactly the same with the points and the message still appears and my printer is unable to connect with my computer. As another option, it says that I can use the host name to find the printer as well. However, the same thing happens. I'll type in the name of host by number and letter by letter, and again, it does not find my printer. In addition, there is only 1 network name so I know I hit the right one. Being a student, it is very important that I get things printed off the coast, it is essential for me to solve this problem. Also, I spent a lot of money on it so I need to work properly.

It should be easy to communicate that it gives me all the necessary information right in front of me, but as I said, it was not easy or fun experience. I don't really know how IP work addresses but I tried to use all the only thing that I can find that is relevant. From now on, I have to record everything in PDF format on my computer, send me unwanted, printing documents download them on my Galaxy Note 4, connect my phone to the printer using the wireless HP Direct on the Officejet and then finally I can print my things. Yes, it works like this, but it is also a concern and I shouldn't do that. I realize that I can't buy a USB link cable to connect my printer to my computer but I don't want to ride the 2 every time I want to print.

(Also something to note, since I'm on WiFi from the University, I don't have access to the router of course so I don't know if this is a contributing factor in why things do not work).

If anyone has suggestions/advice/answers on the issue, please let me know. Thank you!

    Hello @Plz_Help.

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support. I understand that you have a problem connecting to your computer and your printer via Wifi from the University. I would like to help.

The only thing that really POPs, is that you use the network of universities. This can cause a lot of problems.

Question: When you connect your computer or Note 4 on the network, should a pop-up saying you accept the terms of service? If so, this would prevent an air of challenge the printer properly connected to the network.

If you had access to the router I would recommend checking the network connection by typing the printers IP address in a web browser. If you can access the printers webserver shipped, then, the connection is fine. If you can't you need to reset the router. Of course, you can do this.

Also, here's something to consider: If the printer successfully on the network, everyone else on the network will have access to your printer.

A USB connection will be the most reliable and safe way to go. Another thing, why send your rating 4 print jobs? Why not save the PDF files and connect the computer to the wireless network direct printers? In this way, you can print from your computer.

Sorry I can't give you a solution ' to do this and it will work. You must convince the universities IT department to get things related.

    Hello @PLC4265,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are able to print one of your Mac to your HP Officejet Pro 8620 systems wireless e-all-in-one printer. However, your other iMac running Mac OS X 10.10 is not able to connect to your HP Officejet wireless. I would like to help you today with this problem of connectivity.

Because we know that one of your systems works very well, I don't think that this problem is caused by a conflict of networking with the printer. On the contrary, it may a driver, security or networking with the iMac conflict. To isolate this problem and fix it, I'll make you check to see if your iMac and HP Officejet currently communicating on the network. Please follow the steps below.

    1. On the front panel of your Officejet tap installation (key)
    2. Select Network Configuration
    3. Select the wireless settings
    4. Select view wireless details
    5. Please take note of the SSID network name and IP address
    6. On your iMac, please check that your iMac is connected to the exact same name as your printer network SSID. Do not connect to networks of comments . Also avoid connecting them to 5 GHz connections. If you have a double router band it can broadcast the 5 GHz and 2 GHz. Printers are supported only through connections of 2 ghz . If you don't know how to check this, you may need to speak with your router manufacturer.
    7. Once you determine the SSID of your network is perfect, please open the internet browser on your iMac
    8. In the address bar of you please enter the IP address that brought you to the printer. Do not include the www.
    9. Search this site.
    10. A Web site for your printer should now open.
    • If a Web site for your printer does not open: This indicates that your printer and your computer do not communicate on the network.
    • If a Web site for your printer opens correctly: This indicates that your printer and your computer communicate on the network successfully. Don't you just iMac "sees" your printer when you run the installation program?

Please reply to this message with the result of the opening of the site (browser EWS) printers using the printers IP address. I look forward to hear from you!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Selection easy printing on tray 1 or 2

We have an Officejet Pro 8620 with extra paper tray. Tray 1 for Virgin paper, tray 2 for the paper with the logo of the company.

Now, when we want to print to tray 2, we reject Tray 1, whereas, after a few attempts the software switches to tray 2 and printing begins.

It is possible, before printing, to change the setting in the software, select printing for tray 2. But it's pretty heavy.

We want an easy way to select printing for Tray 1 or the tiroir2. For example, as seen in other environments, so that we can choose to print on:

-HP Officejet Pro 8620 (Tray 1) or

-HP Officejet Pro 8620 (tray 2)

This could be seen as a separate printers. How can we achieve this?

Change the setting every time, is not a good option. In addition, we have other software that we want to configure so that they automatically print to the correct bin.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: WiFi will not turn off

Because of a problem with my modem compatible wireless (the problem being that its ethernet ports became defective), for awhile, I had turn the WiFi feature to provide Internet connectivity to my iMac.  Similarly, for the first time, I enabled WiFi on my HP Officejet Pro 8620 so I could keep a printing capability.

Once my new modem arrived, I restored my complete ethernet network between the modem, my iMac (and other devices) and the Office jet printer 8620 Pro.  Everything works fine now!

However, the printer Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi ability not shut down despite the operation by an ethernet cable and there is no WiFi from my modem.  I know the Officejet Pro 8620 always emits WiFi like my iPad and my iPhone indicate that it is.  As my wife is concerned about these RF transmissions that are on the other side of the wall adjacent to our bed, she asked me to turn off the Officejet Pro 8620 WiFi.  I've restored the "Default network" printer, but this is not the case.

According to the instructions of the printer, 'Wireless does not work with an Ethernet cable connected to the printer' However this is clearly not there.  How can I solve this?

Your WiFi is turned off.  Your wireless Direct is not off.  Disable wireless directly into the printer.   Info is in the User Guide.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: Error paper output

I ALWAYS get the error "out of paper. loading tray. "Help, please!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet 8620 Webscan Pro via the power supply produces corrupt PDF. Yes, I'm serious...

    The environment:

Network connected HP Officejet Pro 8620 all-in-one.

Workstation running Windows Pro 64-bit 10.

Internet Explorer browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as default PDF reader.

Full functionality of the HP printing software is NOT installed.

Using the feature of webscan and the automatic document feeder, I scan the document with the default settings for a PDF file (although I have experienced with other parameters).  The scan works very well, and the new page opens with the displayed document.  If I scroll the document by using the wheel on my mouse to halfway through the volute, a window pops up saying "Year Internal Error Occurred" after what I have to hit OK.  I can save the document in PDF format, and as long as I open it with Acrobat Reader DC, it will show.  If I try to open it with another drive (for example Microsoft Edge, I get a blank page).  I tried to create a new PDF by printing it in Acrobat Reader to a PDF generator (generator PDF PrimoPDF and Microsoft), but in both cases, it says "the file could not be printed" and "no pages selected to print.

The scenario above also happens if I scan a multi-page document.  HOWEVER, if I scan a single page document with the original on the glass, the scenario above does NOT.  It creates a perfectly usable PDF.

So... to eliminate Adobe and or IE as the culprits, I put the PDF reader by default Microsoft Edge and launched the webscan using Microsoft Edge also.  When I scanned it using the automatic document feeder, it fed the document, acted like he was treating it, and the result was a WHITE page.

The printer firmware is up to date.  I tried the old turn it off, unplug the unit, wait a while and turn it on again the solution, but that made no difference.

I searched the forums and see reports that correspond to what I see.  Overview of all what could happen here would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi @exfordguy

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

In General, the WebScan function is intended for diagnostic purposes and is not quite as functional as the software. If you choose not to install the full feature software and driver, you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

If the printer has Web Services enabled, you can also go into the applications menu and use the scan to e-mail.

Honestly, I see no reason why you are scanning via WebScan when there are better options available.

I tried to find an answer to this for almost a month.

We have a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and we want to be able to print from a remote computer to ours. The printer is shared.  We'll call the local computer pc1 and the computer remote pc2. PC1 remotes in pc2 using a standard Windows 7 Remote Desktop connection. PC1 sharing their printer with pc2 by redirect. the sharing of each resource to which is connected to it. PC1 is trying to print, and then waits. The printer that is connected to the pc1 via USB cable gives us a message that looks like this of course is not what we want when we try to print an Excel worksheet. No, this is not the complete document. This is the first 1/3 or the page and the rest is completely white. It almost looks like a code any. I installed the drivers on ppc1 both pc2. I tried the drivers universal instaslling. I was told that get this work 4 years ago was very easy, but I could not crack. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Problem has been resolved by the default driver. Has not reappeared since we have updated for the generic driver for 8600. Had to install the driver on the two machines.
