    Two points:

    1. you can simply be to cookies again by going to a
    particular web site.

    2. using Norton anti-virus? In my opinion and that of many of
others of us here, it's the worst available security software. I have
strongly recommend that you replace it with something better.

For an anti-virus program, I recommend eSet NOD32, if you're ready
to pay for it. If you want a free anti-virus, I recommend one of the
    three of the following:

    Avira
    Avast
    Microsoft Security Essentials

You also need anti-spyware software. I recommend that you download and
(both freeware) to install MalwareBytes AntiMalware and
    SuperAntiSpyware.

What is the file deleted the files in the main folder, and can / should I remove it? Is it too much room, I could use?

This file stores a list of files from previous version of Firefox that are no longer needed or supported in the current version of Firefox. This file is only a few KB and it is best not to delete files in the Firefox program folder to avoid update problems. If the required files are missing or modified with a update Firefox will download the full version (approximately 10 MB) instead of a small incremental update which is usually only a few hundred KB.

Where the photos are normally stored on a Mac computer? In the folder images in the Finder on my Mac, I have a file named "Library.photoslibrary Photos" i.e. 28.52 gb and another folder called 'iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary' i.e. 4.95 GB, but then I have also on the 160 other photo and video files in the same folder. But in my Photos app, it says that I have 6 260 'elements '.

The pictures that you have imported into the photo library are, by default, stored inside the package (not file) "Library.photoslibrary Photos" in your pictures folder. The 'iPhoto Library.migratedphotolibrary' package would contain photos that have been stored in your library, iPhoto at the time of the migration.

The other files in the pictures folder are that: other files. Also, they can be in libraries if you imported and has not deleted the copies lying around in the images.

  • Somehow, I deleted my index.dat in the Cookies folder.

Somehow, I deleted my index.dat in the Cookies folder.  How do I get it back and I really need?

    Hello

    • What was the location of the folder where you deleted it go?
The index.dat file is a database file. This is a repository of information such as web URLS, search queries, and files recently opened. Its purpose is to allow quick access to the data used by Internet Explorer. For example, all visited web addresses are stored in the index.dat file, which allows to find quickly the AutoComplete match as long as the user types an Internet Explorer web address. The index.dat file is specific to the user and is open as long as a user is connected Windows. Separate index.dat files exist for the history, cache and cookies in Internet Explorer.
The index.dat file is never resized or deleted. A large index.dat file can affect the performance.

Note: The .dat extension is commonly used for data files (files that are not readable by humans and not to hold a binary based on documents). It is possible to find named "index.dat" files that are not used by Internet Explorer.
  • Windows search fails to find the files in the Documents folder

Original title: Windows 7 search finds no files, even though all the settings have been verified and the search index has been rebuilt

I recently bought a new Dell laptop Studio 1558 with Windows 7 Home Premium and moved through several hundred documents from my old PC to the new folder 'My Documents'.

As many others have found, Windows Search has been completely useless. She seems to have no problem finding files in the music folder or image, but anything in the document library is invisible to the it - even if I get in a subfolder small for a file name I see just in front of me, Windows Search will announce that "no element not corresponding to your search.

I took a number of steps so far to fix the problem, which none have worked:

    1. I checked which locations are indexed for search and ensured that the document library is among them (as well as all of my C drive).

    2. I checked that appropriate file extensions (.doc .docx .pdf, etc.) are all selected from the "File Types" list in indexing options (although I noticed that 'Description of filter' for .pdf bed "Registered IFilert is not found" - not this problem with Word documents).

    3. I have deleted and rebuilt the search index.

    4. I ran the troubleshooting Windows 7 Search tool, which reports that it cannot find any problems.

    5. I have read that some problems with Windows 7 search can be solved by changing a registry key (http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-fix-windows-7-search-problems/) but when I navigate to the folder in my registry, only following three keys are here (not the one mentioned in the difficulty):

    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {0B2BAAEB-0042-4DCA-AA4D-3EE8648D03E5}
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {36011842-DCCC-40FE-AA3D-6177EA401788}
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\ {59BD6DD1-5CEC-4D7E-9AD2-ECC64154418D}

A couple of things, I said - if I create a new word document and save it, Windows Search seems to immediately get back on it and is able to find. I also noticed that at first when I opened one of the word documents that have been transferred over the old PC and then closed it again, Windows Search picked up on it and could find it. So I went to try to open and close then all of my documents (an arduous task...), but the subject to halfway through Windows Search has ceased to be able to find them.

All Word documents using Microsoft Word 2007 in .doc or .docx format, although the problem also applies to Excel, PDF and image files, so I don't think that the problem is with the word itself.

I have tried everything I can think so far, including all the solutions, I could see suggested in previous discussions. I really need the search function working to effectively use my laptop so that any help would be welcome!

    Thank you, Jack

Santosh thanks, I checked the permissions for the appropriate files and SYSTEM was present, which doesn't seem to be the problem. However, I found a solution that might work for other people are having the same problem.

I noticed that if I changed the location of the files, Windows search suddenly seems to become aware that they existed and then indexed and followed them correctly - even if they were subsequently moved back to the original location. I just created a temporary folder outside my library of documents and then each subfolder in the folder my documents him and then come back, one by one. It was a bit laborious but the problem solved - I know not why it worked, but all the old files are now indexed and appear correctly when you use Windows Search, and it seems not to have any problems, follow-up of the newly created files.

    Cheers, Jack

  • How to force remove a virus/malware process/file in the temp folder?

I am sure that I met a virus/malware and she had tried several times to enter a first time (that I had said no to the permission of windows) in my hard drive and then hours later, something was repeatedly asking me to upload a file to my computer I say also to cancel. I never met this kind of behaviour before. I also tried to remove some very similar processes/files in the temp folder immediately when he arrived, but these same files name would not remove. They were not the debug log files. And I've never seen these files before. How can I force malicious deleting something like this will not remove like regular temporary files that are.

YOU CAN NOT JUST DELETE.  You must run Malwarebytes.

  • Thousands of PES files in the root folder of drive D?

I'm under PSE 13 on a Windows 7 system. I was shocked and horrified to discover, after use of PSE 13 days that the root folder of my D: drive where I have installed PSE13 has nearly SEVEN THOUSAND files! These are for the most part of the xml, bmp, jpg, psd, mp4 and .gif files. It is an absolute no no prospects of a good Windows file system management. Applications should NEVER store hundreds or thousands of files in the folder root of the drive, one. That is why the sous-sous-sous-dossiers/sous-sous-sous-repertoires.  Can you imagine the chaos if every application developer did it?

More surely there be a way to specify where these organizing files can be stored and place them in the folder of my hard disk where they are absolutely not?

    mxgordon wrote:

... Unless it started in PES 11 I had installed before the upgrade to 13, however, when 11 was installed, it's all on the C: drive. I pass the process of conversion of the catalogue of 11 to 13.

    The files usually have names like 'B0000000.pref', 'B0000002', 'B0000005.dat', B0000006.xml, 'B0003495.xml', 'B0003496.bmp', ' "B0006834."» "JPG", "B0006816.psd" and a huge 2 GB of files "Photoshop Temp2287141416368".

What you show, it is the content of a backup folder. It's a pretty common problem to find all the files in a folder root of a drive when the destination of the backup folder was not specified, the drive letter.

A backup folder contains files renamed image as "". B000000 ". "JPG", where the suffix is maintained. All the other files and subfolders are renamed in the original catalog file. More important still, the backup folder contains the two most important files, "catalog.buc"(a copy renamed your database "catalog.pse11db" and a "backup.tly" file that contains all the information to rename the files and store them in their structure of tree of file origin of the command of the "restoration" of the Organizer. Catalog backup file is usually created on an external EHD. The restoration process normally allows you to set the location of the main folder on the backup drive. Users don't often specify a folder to create for this purpose; I always recommend to create the backup folder before the restore process.

Your case is a little more complicated due to several factors:

-you have converted from version 11 to 13

    -you have installed an SSD

-you have installed software elements on D: which is something not 1% of typical users will do.

This and your answer shows that you and only you can find what you've done to get the contents of a backup in the root folder. The answer requires you to remember all of the previous steps, you have done to convert the backup and migrate to the D: drive.

What is not clear to me of your two different messages, is if the problem is to find files cumbersome and unnecessary in the root or folder if you have also problems with your catalogs and library of image files. If you have no problem to remove unwanted files from the root folder, you simply use Explorer to delete all files starting with "B00" over the catalog.buc and backup.tly file. Instead of delete, you can even move them to a newly created folder: this will create a valid backup folder.

Thanks in advance for your comments, they can be very useful for other users.

  • The initial launch of DW CC 2014, get following error: "cannot locate the resource file in the Configuration folder. This file is Spectialized to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application. "This app has been updated through CC.

I have to first remove the DW? With the help of PC Win 7.

The error message: "Unable to locate the resource file in the Configuration folder", so it seems that something is missing. Could be a permission problem... I would suggest:

    1. go to a user admin account

Connect using built in Administrator | Create the local admin account. 7, 8, Windows Vista

Install or run Adobe applications in the new user account. Mac OS X

2 remove the application DW CC 2014 by uninstalling or using the cleantool.

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/install-apps.html#uninstall apps

Use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6

    3. manually delete the directories of config according to KB: (you need to of course search the CC 2014 folder instead of the older versions in the KB)

    Restore preferences | Dreamweaver CS4, CS5, CS5.5, CS6

This step will ensure that also the configuration file will be regenerated on re installation!

4 reinstall on the new admin account and test again. If works please go back to the old account and test again.

    Good luck!

Is it possible to prevent or remedy to have too many files in the DCIM folder?  In a group of friends, when you view folders DCIM iPhone in Windows 8, three of us have many, many files (such as 101APPLE, 327APPLE, 328APPLE).  Phones concerned: 5 c, 6: 6.  Some have only one photo per file, some files have just a few pictures.  In addition, two friends have files dated 1969.  I think everyone has the most current ioS. What is the cause and is at - it a way to overcome it?

No, it isn't. The DCIM and its content was never for public use to shoot photos and videos.

Here's the right way to go about it.

  • How can I move files to the system folder?

    Hi all

I was wondering how to move files to the system folder. With the update to El Capitan and the former program is no longer works and the developer suggests moving some files on the system folder that should fix it, but even if an administrator account I don't have write access to the system-> library folder where they need to go. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Steve

In short: you do not have. The folder/System is only for Apple.  The new protections in El Capitan make it impossible for you to place the files.

This is what the folder/library for: install additional components to the system, but keeping them separated from the basic installation.

What software are you trying to run? What files we told you to move? I'm curious to know what type of developer will tell you to put the files in / System.
