Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

  • Pavilion 6820: I have a desktop computer Pavilion 6820 and an old map GFX. Are they compatible?

Hi, I own a 6820 Pavilion which has served me very well. I recently found an old map chart of my brothers in the storage. It's an "AMD Radeon HD2400 Pro 256 MB". I read that this card was realeased in 2007. Will it be a kind of upgrade? I am very new to PC construction and upgrading, but I was wondering if the task of installing this card in this PC is possible and worth the effort. Is someone can shine some light on my situation?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Your Pavilion 6820 model is not valid.

The 256 MB graphics card AMD is not just cut the mustard with modern graphics.

  • I have deleted many programs and files on my system, but drive C never changes in size, he always tells me it's almost full, how do I know what files in windows are also safe to delete

I deleted a lot of files and programs of C.drive but he never looks any different, it almost always shows full.  Can someone also tell me what programs within Windows are safe to remove.

OK, if your computer works well here is how to save a huge amount of disk space and is sure to do. In your Start Menu, open computer. Check your free space, take a note. Right-click on OS(C:) et choisissez Propriétés.) Click Disk Cleanup and wait for it to complete the calculation. See the list of available items to remove. Click on an element and below, you'll see a descripion of what it is. Put a check mark in the box of files that you want to remove. Take note of the cleanest Hibernation file, if you remove these you must go to Power Options and enable the hibernation. Also check the files for downloaded programs files by clicking view files. If you want to keep some you should keep all or delete will delete all. You can remove all these if you want to that they will be downloaded according to your needs. Click OK and confirm. These files are recreated when you use your computer. Click Disk Cleanup again and choose the tab of Options more. Here you can remove programs that you do not use. Leave that for now. You will gain a huge amount of space by clicking on clean for the system restore and shadow copies. Click Clean up and confirm. It will take three to five minites then wait until it ends. IF it seems to click long cleaning again and confirm, and the page needs to close. Close the other page also. Now close and reopen the desktop page and you will see a huge difference.

  • Is it safe to delete old Update Service installers?

    Hello

Is it safe to delete the contents of the C:\ProgramData\National Instruments\Update Service\Installers? My PC has 7 GB of these files from 5 updates, and I want to delete them.

The software NOR must it always these installers for nothing?

    Thank you!

This folder currently holds downloads from the Update Service OR, if you go to file > Preferences you can see the folder where it stores its files (setting for another drive that is ideal to save space on the SSD drives).

Removal of thesse installers often can be a problem if you build installers for your applications and it wants to include hotfixes with the packages that you select. Patches are often released after shipments of disk so you can't just point to those media.

Otherwise, they are just the installation files and have zero effect on the use of your software from day to day.

  • During a recent drive clean that I discovered I had 21745 KB of old files compressed - what are compressed old files?

Original title: what are the old files Compresssed understand?

During a recent drive clean that I discovered I had 21745 KB of old files compressed - what are compressed old files?

AND is it OK to delete to free up disk space?

    Hi Janie,
We need a bit more info here. What you saw and where (or how do you here). XP can compress old files when they were little used. These files must be stored somewhere, and I think that you have found where. Do not delete them. If you went on the cleaning disc in the properties of a hard disk, you see where you can disable this active or disabled, but turn it off takes more space because you don't compress these files more. It can take a long time to turn it off too much because the system must find every file, unzip it save it to the hard drive and do the following. If it runs out of disk space free of it, it will stop and make either but then your hard drive will be very close to full and your entire system will slow down (it takes a good amount of HD to 'play'.

Looks like you need more disk space. Get another drive (expensive) or go to disk cleanup and try to compress the entire drive. It will take a lot of time, maybe hours or overnight depending on the working speed and the player. But it's free. Overnight is best. I think you can stop it (read the help on this). Do not turn It Off during the race. Bad move.

Something not clear, go back and ask.

  • Which of the files in disk cleanup are safe to delete?

    That are safe to delete?

Per user queued Windows error report is 2 GB in size, I am the only user on the pc, no idea how he could be so great?

    Original title: Disk Cleanup

They are all still safe to delete.  None of them are needed at all.  Many will come when necessary (including the reconstruction of the thumbnails of the photo folders).  Click on one to see a full description of what is in the description below it.

While these can save disk space, do not forget that some of them may be better and let your computer run faster. For example, these tiles allow a quick view of your folders. If delete you it, your computer will lag while the thumbnails are rebuilt at the next time. Similar impacts with some temporary files.
