  Hey there,

  I created my WVC80N yesterday.  Went to a couple came back, he was frozen, no new video.  He did this ever nonstop.  I had to reboot the computer to make it work again. Obviously a big problem, but one that I hope there is a fix for or can I do something wrong.

  I use win 7 and tried both the software supplied with the cam and webcam xp5, they both lose the connection with the cam after a short period of time.

  @crjb1, have you got it working under Linux?  I tried for about a week without result.  I noticed that Linksys-Cisco offers a GPL had driver/module for the wvc54gc, but not for the wvc80n.  Maybe I would have thought a little before you get all excited and buying this.

  The video quality when connecting to the web server of the camera is fine, but I can't get a stream using zoneminder video or else and the RTSP protocol feed doesn't seem to work at all.

  OK, here I am with this problem once again, the first time it really made me reinstall the whole OS (it's so EVIL), and now he's back. Not that I really want to waste time looking for what is impossible to find, but I really want to reinstall the whole thing again. Here goes:

  (4) Yes, I have reinstall Flash number countless times, and no, it doesn't matter what version of flash, it is, just as with the browser. All the same.
  (5) Yes, I checked the PC for any possible malware using several different anti-malware applications. Nothing. Clean.
  (6) I checked the event viewer, no message here... just nothing.

  What happens is, that it simply stops play ANY flash after some time. Animation, video... whatever. It is therefore not specific thing of youtube. When on youtube I just get the black frame and an annoying flashing / pending tab in the taskbar. That's right, stuck in a cycle. If I restart the browser it is all back to normal. But a little later (I don't know when exactly, about 15 minutes later maybe) he goes back into the glitch. Since my last reinstallation (which is due to this prob), he was for some time without any problems. But now he's back, so instead of reinstalling everything I just want to know: what THE HELL is this shit? It really pisses me now. And no, I don't want to use a different browser, I need Mozilla.

  I have finally isolated the problem of my software lack of HP dv6 fingerprint reader. I think Norton Removal Tool, available online at www.symentec.com/nrt, was the reason. I am sure this conclusion because the exact same problem occurred after I installed Norton Internet Security 2012 on laptop HP same as my wife. I tried, in vain, to uninstall and reinstall the driver for the biometric fingerprint device provided by Validity Sensors, Inc.

  After spending a day and a half to try to "solve" the problem, I decided to restore my system and go back to the prior agreement of the point of the installation of Norton. Thank you HP to make this process quick and painless. Don't forget that if you installed anything after the restore point, it will have to be reinstalled.

  Fortunately, there's a less intrusive on CD of Norton removal tool. This utility uninstalls an older version of Norton you are requested to restart and then installs the latest NIS. It is a method of removal safer that wide brush offered by the Norton Online link, which wipes everything remotely suspect.

  After reinstalling Norton Internet Security 2012 from the CD, everything works as it should, including the fingerprint reader.

  I have a Motorola SM56 speakerphone modem, I went from dial-up to the Road Runner.   When I open Device Manager and expand the sound column it lists "High definition Audio Device" (manufacturer of Microsoft), there are 4 that say "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" then there is one that says "Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.  When I open the properties of the Unimodem device it says ' device working properly.   Are plug you the speakers into the modem?

  They must be connected in making your computer speaker, usually a light green color (read the manual of the machine). Go to control panel / sounds / playback and make sure that the type of speakers you selected as the default device.
  Audio device drivers updated its better to not use MS Update (it is not). Re-post giving your machine make name and exact model number (for example HP, Inspiron, ABC1234 etc.).

  There maybe problems of compatibility with the launcher Ubisoft, I suggest you try to do is go to the icon on the desktop right click - compatibility mode - run in 2 of Windows XP Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista Service pack.   Firefox has stopped working after the upgrade to version 27. I reinstalled 26, it's been a while so I thought that the problem had been sorted out, so today tried to install the latest version. Same problem as 27, just does not work when you click it. I have Zonealarm later, and I have disabled all the internet security, control applications and anti virus. The same, followed instructions to remove firefox so reliable programs it tempt me the fact still. But there is no prompt . As a last resort, I uninstalled Zonealarm. Still does not work after a new installation.

  How did you notice this problem? You get an error message or something else?

  It's really hard to say why this happens, but first I would try to update the driver for the webcam. You can get the latest version on the Toshiba site:
