Older versions of Labview

Hello everyone!

I want to use some parallel port, the programs of labview with my old laptop computers using windows 95 and 98.

Can what version of Labview I use for this purpose?

Where can I download such an old free version or a trial version?

Thank you!

Hey ornella,.

The image that was missing from the above linked knowledge base is attached. With respect to access older versions of LabVIEW, if you have a valid support contract, you can access some earlier versions of LabVIEW from the Service Resource Center . However, versions of LabVIEW available, it will not return as much as LabVIEW 6.1, which is what you would need for a windows 95 machine. Unfortunately, the free or trial of LabVIEW versions are not available for LabVIEW 6.1. It might be useful to contact a representative to discuss what options you have.

  • Availability of older versions of LabVIEW

Hello, I am looking for a download (or other ways to get it) of LabVIEW 8.5.1. We had to upgrade a computer running 8.5.1, but the installation disc could not be found. We have S/N. While we have the licenses to the new version of LabVIEW, I prefer to install 8.5.1 because we execute former LabVIEW code developed by GE and they don't take care of their code on the original version of LabVIEW. Thank you!

I found the download here: http://www.ni.com/download/labview-development-system-8.5.1/3529/en/

I did search for "Download LabVIEW 8.5" from the home page of NOR.  It was the second link.

  • .lvproj to open in older versions of Labview

    Hi all

someone accidentally opens a file .lvproj in Labview 2013. However, I use 2012 and so I can't open it. How to restore it to the 2012 version so that I can open it?

    Thank you in advance!

.lvproj is just a text file, which you can open in Notepad.

Inside, there is a line that says "LVVersion ="8208000"

Change the number of what is present in a LV12 to a LVproj file version.

  • What are the opinions of the developers on how best to manage the upgrade of the libraries of great code with several applications again a version of labview?

I have a large set of code I have carefully migrated from version of one labview to another over the years.  I have a lot of deployed applications that I need to continue to support.  Of experience and interaction with other developers, I don't think I can continue to migrate each application to a new version of labview when I move in the future.  Each application seems to break in one way or another, the versions do not work right and need to be redone and its much too much time to get all my apps working and tested again.  This opinion is solidified by the policies of OR which make it impossible to install older versions of new versions of labview Toolkit, for example.  Compatibility is often sacrificed so NEITHER can develop labview in the direction they choose.  So I have to take the position that what version I have to write an application in will probably need to be maintained in this version of labview throughout his life.

In this context, how are other developers management old application written in older versions of labview.  Right now I have a PC virtual on my system 7.1, 8.0, 8.2 and 8.5 running on different virtual PC so I can keep each installation separate.  I highly recommend this approach.  But keep my large libraries of separate code is difficult.  They are several GB, they all relate to each other, and I always get worried, even when I separate them into different directories that somehow labview will search in the wrong place and find the wrong version of a subvi.  Other people are also trying to keep copies separate from all their code in versions different labview?  How other people handle this problem?

    Hello

The hierarchy of the following directories, coupled with a VI "hierarchical" naming strategy, have been effective (for me) to prevent "Crosslinking" through projects and versions of LV. The hierarchy of storage has been designed for use in an environment of CSC, but works very well regardless. Hierarchical naming ensures unique names for application-specific files. Library use of the project (in LabVIEW 8.x) addresses the problem of having different screw with the same name, yet, it gives me warm-ferrets have application-specific files named in a unique way and I can't imagine not use hierarchical naming more - he described the length in section 2.1 of the attached. doc...

Note: It has been my experience that societies resources as well as specific support "programs", where a program is linked to a product or the "family" of products, so, under the (each subdirectory of "Program" below) encapsulates specific applications to the product (or family-specific). Assuming that no CSC tool is used the directory (below) is also, as depositary for distributables.  All the distributables necessary for the reproduction of a test station should be placed under .

  • List version of LabVIEW VIs?

    Hello all,.

I have the unfortunate task of finding and saving many screws on a PC and the network and convert them all to 8.5.1.  Some are 8.6, some older versions.  It is very painful when I keep opening up a VI to see which version it is.  I want to bring together them and to work on a version at a time. Does anyone know how to list out a directory of the screws which includes its version number?

I tried to use the nodes property to a reference to 'own the application' (see photo), but it always returns the last version of LabVIEW (8.6), not the specific version in VI in trajectory control.  All ideas are welcome.

    Sorry NIquist,

It's a node to invoke the Application class, it's called 'Get the VI Version'.

  • problem after uninstalling older versions of LV

I am facing a strange problem, and I would like to ask for help before doing more drastic step, like trying to reinstall all required components of OR, or even reinstall the whole PC.

History of the PC: I had versions of LabVIEW (all 32 bit) installed on this laptop, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 finally. I wanted only keep version 2015 on this laptop, so I went to Windows (Win7 32 bit) Control Panel, menu "remove/uninstall programs" and I uninstalled all components with older version numbers. After this step LV2015 works fine as before, but I see strange things in "NI Update Service", see the screenshot below.

I also copied the contents of my file "c:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\" here, see below (by the way, y at - it no tool OR to list ALL installed software components OR?) Uninstall the Windows list ' menu app is not exportable )

Edit1: If one thing I don't understand: what are these driver updates, do I need? and why the update tells me to update LV2014, it is even not installed more!

As a result, I've been several times.  Unfortunately, there are enough "complications" in how LabVIEW is installed and uninstalled the only practice which has probably worked for me (and in almost all cases, I tried something "simple", I followed upward to do this way) is the following:

    1. Back up your C: drive (or anywhere where your operating system files and the live main program).
    2. Gather the installation media for the Versions that you want to run.
    3. Uninstall everything in Scripture NOR in programs and features.
    4. Everything which "hangs on" uninstall LabVIEW (such as VIPM).
    5. If you are comfortable editing the registry, try to delete entries 'LabVIEW' and 'National Instruments' as much as possible.  This can take a significant amount of time!
    6. Delete files and folders in Program Files and Program Files (x 86) related to the OR.  Don't forget OR downloads, that could be at the root of C:.
    7. Reset.
    8. Start installing, oldest in the first place, the latest device drivers.  I usually install a Version (without its associated device drivers), restart, install the device drivers that are suitable for my hardware and the Version installed, reboot, set default values of LabVIEW (activation of TCP/IP, adjustment of block diagrams as I like, etc.), restart, and then make the next Version, repeat these steps.
    9. When all Versions of LabVIEW, you want to run are installed, install VIPM and the packages you want for each of the installed Versions of LabVIEW.
    10. Drink a glass of wine--you've won!

  • There are older versions of garageband?

There are older versions of garageband?

Since Apple has the distribution of their software online, you will face the following situation.

    • Once Apple releases a new version of an application software and makes it available on the App Store, the previous version is no longer available (unless you have saved a copy of the previous Installer on your disk).
    • The App Store is the only source where you can get the software. Apple has total control of the distribution and you can't go to Amazon or eBay to get an older version.

    Hope that helps

  • How can I get an older version of Pages where I can format pages face to face

How can I get an older version of Pages where I can format pages face to face?

If you have an older computer, the old version of the pages is still in the folder of iWorks if I'm not mistaken, otherwise, if you still have the iWork DVD you can reinstall it after you remove the crappy version of Pages.

Otherwise... Maybe you can always buy some old DVD of it on the internet, don't know where you should look...

  • How can I install an older version of Aperture?

    Hi all

    I use a MacBook Pro mid-2010.

For some time it has been my main work laptop and I was always updated to the latest versions of OS X.

My hobby is photography so in 2012, I also bought Aperture and I also kept up to date.

However, after upgrade to OS X El Capitan (10.11 I think) my laptop performance gradually declined and he became very slow. I also bought a new laptop and my Mac has become my second laptop.

I decided to go back to the roots and install OS X Lion on it (10.7.5).

However when I try to download and install the latest version of the opening (3.6), I get an error message that OS X 10.10 is necessary...

Can someone tell me how can I find and install an older version of Aperture (for example the 3.4.5 which I think is the last version that supports the 10.7 Lion)?

    Thank you!

You still have the original installer DVD for Aperture?

You need a full installer for Aperture 3. If you bought version Aperture box with a serial number, use this DVD.  Then update to this version of the opening page of Apple Aperture download 3.4.5 update 3.4.5

There is no way to download a complete Installer for Apple Aperture, because the opening is is sold and implemented to the point. The only that downloadable version is 3.6 since the AppStore opening, if you already updated to this version of the AppStore. Then you can reinstall 3.6 of the opening of the history of your purchases (fourth tab from the AppStore). Download page for Apple on the supprt page has only updated for the opening, but not full installers.

If you do not have a separate installation program use your Time Machine backups and go back as I have the time of your days of Lion, if the backup history is going well. Restore an older version of the opening of the Applications folder. New versions of opening 3.3 is self contained and you can simply copy them into the Applications folder.

  • Can I find older versions of app?

Is there a way to search for older versions of applications? Or at least know of a search MAS if the developer still offering the older versions?

Sometimes, I don't like the changes in the updated versions, so I prefer the old version.

You can not search for older versions of the Mac App Store applications. As far as I KNOW, the only time where the Mac App Store will warn you of the availability of an earlier version of an application, is when your operating system does not have the new version of the app. I've never experienced this and I think that it may be limited to Apple applications.
