How to transfer programs to the newly added existing SSD HARD drive
I use a PC with Windows XP 3 SP 3 on a 250 MB HARD drive. Recently, I upgraded my processor and motherboard to a 3.00 gigahertz Intel Pentium Dual-Core
64 kilobyte primary memory cache/2048 KB secondary memory cache/64-bit ready/Multi-core (2 total) / not hyper-thread and a BIOSTAR G41D3 + 6.0/Bus Clock: 200 megahertz/BIOS: American Megatrends Inc.. 080015 28/12/2010. Because of the problems with the upgrade from XP to Windows 7 and also to increase startup speed and current programs, I bought a Kingston V + S2 96 GB SSD SVP100. I intend to install Windows 7 on SSD and would like to transfer my programs for the SSD to accelerate their. Is this possible or do I have to reinstall it on the SSD?If I install the programs on the SSD I will be able to access the data on the HDD (documents, pictures and music) of the SSD?
Any help would be accepted with gratitude.
Hi, Smcc42,
It is not possible to copy and paste any programs installed on another disk - you must reinstall them because their files are located in various locations on the disk and because of the registry entries.
This can make the relocation process a little easier:

Want to Phoenix 810qe: SSD cache fails on desire 810qe
A few weeks ago I noticed a problem (probably unrelated) which led me to look at the system event logs and I was surprised to see that I was getting all them complain about a bad block on a "hard drive" I didn't know, I had three or four errors a minute. A little poking around revealed that it was the machine provided with 16 GB mSATA SSD cache. Apart from the log messages, the computer seems to work very well, so I put off to worry about this. Now, with the end of my warranty approaching, I decided to call and see if I could get a replacement. (I'm now up to eight messages per minute).
After a few long and frustrating calls, I finally got someone to direct me to the good test to run, who immediately said "Test failed. Recommended replacement car. »
Unfortunately, they are not ready to send me a replacement, and I'm not ready to wipe my machine and send it to them to play with for a few weeks, I'm looking for other solutions.
My questions are
- Do I need to worry about this? It is a cache, so, theoretically, if it fails, it could simply not give me the performance boost, but it won't actually hurt anything. But what I saw on the web implies that there are two ways that SSD hiding can be configured ("enhanced" and "expanded") and one of them may cause corruption if it fails. The support guy I spoke had no idea.
- How is it difficult to replace the SSD drive with a new one? They don't seem to be very expensive, and looking inside the box, he's not physically difficult to replace. But I suspect that there's more involved in the passage.
- If not, can I disable the cache and get him out?
Any help will be appreciated.
Evan
Just in case someone comes to this page with a similar problem...
After another telephone conversation with a supervisor, HP agreed to send a part... purpose of replacement only if they could schedule a technician to come to my house to install it. For free. I agreed. The tech came out yesterday morning, challenge a screw, jumped from the old disk, jumped into the other in screw them and started the machine. Everything worked. No software at all. It's all plug-and-play. They sent me a disc identical to that which failed (16GB), but he expressed the view that it would be putting end to a larger.
It turns out that the machine uses no hardware caching, but rather the software called ExpressCache, where my confusion of not being able to determine what mode of caching (material) that he used. This software manufacturer said that it "maintains safe and the integrity of all data in case of failure SSD or kidnapping, as well as unclean judgments resulting from power outages. And that seems to be the case, at least in terms of pulling on a production car and its replacement by a new.

Y510P - How can I check the size of the SSD Cache?
Hello
I just took delivery of a Y510P but don't see anywhere how I check the size of the SSD Cache.
The laptop should have come with an 8 GB SSD Cache but how to check this?
Thank you very much
Jon
Brayjd, I, too have just received my Y510p, and after reading your post, became curious as well. After trying all the same things you did, without any good results, I went into the Device Manager and got the hard drive part number and google it. It turns out that mine is a hybrid SSD/HD with a SSD 8 GB cache built into the player. A hybrid has the SSD completely autonomous in the HD itself and requires no external software to run. That's why we have found no information on the size - for what is the rest of the computer is the SSD is invisible. Try Googling the part number of the hard drive. I hope this will answer the question for you, too.

8 GB RAM with ssd and ram 12 GB without ssd cache cache
We are looking to buy a laptop HP Envy 17 t j100 touchsmart for our son. Which would be better:
8 GB of RAM with SSD exceleration 24gig or 12 GB of ram without ssd cache memory?
The cache of WSSD 24gig offers performance very similar to a full SSD drive for a much lower cost. I would buy the unit with the drive cache of the WSSD 24 concert and as little memory as they sell me and then increase the RAM me but 8 GB of RAM it's frankly more than many. In fact, it's probably better than 12 because there 2 identical modules allowing the functioning of memory dual channel. To summarize, the best option is clearly 8 GB RAm and the WSSD of 24 concert disk cache.

Hello
I am a new owner of a computer laptop 14-n201sf and I would like to know if there is a possibility of adding an SSD as cache with mSata product or something like that.
I have no idea on the port extensions (mSata? m2? no?) inside my laptop, the user manual do not provide those answers.
Indeed I don't know either if an SSD will be used as cache or as a new disk is empty. Is this possible?
I think that the replacement of the main hard drive with an SSD would break the warranty that's why I'm considering a cache solution.
Concerning
Hello
Your machine is a "HP Pavilion 14-n201sf". Please check the following first:

You can swap and replace with a new currnet SSD HARD drive, they are very good markets now, 1 TB for less than $400.
Kind regards.

Hi there - put on day of Windows 7 64-bit of Windows 10. Update seems to be fine - no errors, the system starts and 10 Windows deskop seems to struggle and work - but performace is terrible compared to Windows 7. The start-up takes ~ 2:15 for the desktop to appear first, then ~ 3:30 total for applications to load (hourglass disappears). Firefox takes ~ 1:30 to open go icon click to show my Yahoo home page. MUCH longer than using Windows 7.
I suspect that the cache of 32 GB drive configuration have not upgraded correctly. I have uninstalled and installed the latest drivers Intel RST (dated 26/08/2015, using SetupRST.exe from the Intel download site) - the Intel RST icon finally appears in the system tray and wrote that the RST is running correctly. Intel RST is enabled in the BIOS.
Thoughts welcome - thanks!
Update: swapped stock a new SSD HARD drive (500 GB, but a 240 GB should be fine for most), removed the drive to boost 32 GB mSATA (is more necessary since the main drive is SSD), and did a clean install of Windows 10. This laptop now works fine.
BTW, the one feature that does not have a driver through the W10 std install in Device Manager appears to be satisfied by the «HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection Software» fashion
This notebook should be good for a few years.

Envy 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache TS
Envy TS 15-j051sa mSata SSD Cache for the 1 TB 5400 HGST HTS541010A9E680.
The manual States "Support for the SSD drive 24-GB mSATA (not available on computer models equipped with system - 16834 memory or 12288-Mo)". As I have all the conditions, Intel processor, 8 GB of ram, the question is can I just install it and everything works as if by magic?
Or what I need to do anything about it, or to perform any installation? I noticed Intel RST is running and that the system is working normally.
Any help or experience would be helpful (apart from the disk of 1 TB of pit and replace it with a large SSD!).
Thank you.
OK, for someone else to end up here
It worked for me:
- Bought a 24 GB SSD mSata off eBay (very cheap).
- Make sure that it is the type of partition MBR (I used an external box with Mini PCI-E to SATA 22Pin mSATA).
- Make sure that the Intel Rapid Start technology is disabled in the Bios. (Appears only if the mSata is installed).
- Windows 8 (.1) boot in SafeMode (this is where I'm wrong).
- Run the Intel Rapid Storage Technology-> Performance-> activate acceleration.
- Reset (it works!)
- Activate the technology Intel Rapid boot in the BIOS (I don't know if it improves things, seems to work OK without him)
A start power button to start screen for ready office is 17-18 seconds. Note that I have several services running SQL 2008 R2 Server and all the HP utilities installed as new.
Paul.

Reconfigure Aspire SSD caching on Windows 10 v7
Hello
I have upgraded to Windows 10 on my Aspire V7 482pg (5861). I installed all the drivers recommended on the support page and have not run into any significant errors. However, this particular laptop comes with an SSD for caching, and I was not able to reconfigure it to do this. The software ExpressCache I used before on Windows 8.1 doesn't seem to be compatible with Windows 10.
Y at - it an another software caching that I should try to use? One of the downloads on the support page is Intel Rapid Storage (even though the description on the page shows a quick start, it is certainly a fast storage that has been installed). At present, the only thing Rapid Storage seems to do is reduce the amount of energy during periods of inactivity.
Should I try to configure the system to use Smart Response? It is even possible with this version of rapid storage technology?
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you
Hello
I have the same laptop and I faced the same problem. I downloaded the driver for Acer ME600 ExpressCache from the support page, changed the installator and now the SSD caching works ok. Link
Hope this helps
P.S Intel Smart Response in ' t supported by our chipset

HOW TO CHANGE SATA to RAID mode (SSD CACHE PROBLEM)
Hello
I have a HP Envy 4 1054tx Ultrabook with 500 GB drive HARD + SSD of 32 GB. My HARD drive crashed and replaced it with a new one. Unfortunately, my restore disk does not work so I installed fresh new WIN7. I try to use the SSD caching capability of my laptop (which he did before, when I bought it). Based on the forums I've read, the SSD cache implementation requires that the SATA controller must be set to RAID mode. However, when I entered the BIOS, there is no option or the configuration that I can use to set SATA RAID my HARD disk mode. In this regard, I can't meet one of the requirements of SSD caching. Here are some of my BIOS Setup. Can you help me please guys how to work on it? I am not convinced, on how my phone performs without SSD caching.
Thanks in advance.
Hello:
Disk controllers hard HP consumer notebooks cannot be changed from their default values.
More than likely if your model is equipped with a hybrid drive, the speed control is already defined with RAID.
I recommend you to read this blog on how to get this Setup to work on a new install of W7.

Mobile OS from HDD and SSD 16 GB Express SSD Cache (HP Envy H8 - 1520t)
Product number: C9D47AV #ABA
Serial number: [personal information deleted]
I recently bought a new desire and while I had originally planned on just using the 1 TB HDD as well as 16 GB of cache to boot the system, I decided to go with a 120 GB Samsung SSD 840 for where I want my OS to be.
After reading a lot of posts and have tried to do it myself last night, I know it will be a pain. I saw a few solutions on the forum I'll try tonight and I don't want to revisit old but I do not see anyone mentioned have a 16 GB SSD cache for the computer to start from. Does make a difference in what I like?
If I am able to well to clone the current HARD drive can I spend with the 16 GB Sandisk Disk Cache? I can live with keeping the 16 GB startup disk, using the SSD 120 GB for my OS and find another use for the 1 TB HARD drive, but ideally, I would like to boot directly from the 120 GB SSD and use the HARD disk of 1 TB as additional storage space.
Thanks in advance for reading this.

Thanks in advance for reading this.
Hello
SSD 16 GB cache is primarily for you to have a faster access to your data.
Before installing the os or the image you want to make the current system, it's better that you create a recovery Kit using the HP software to create the installation DVD for your device.
At any time, you want to restore your system to its original configuration, simply launch the Kit.
Now, with respect to the imaging system and having it installed on the SSD, how do you intend to do? What software will you use to perform this task?
Thank you

Clarity on a Dell XPS 8700 with 2 TB SATA + Intel® SRT 32 GB SSD Cache harddrive
Hello
I am buying a Dell XPS 8700 with a SATA hard drive with a 32 GB SSD cache. I want to know if the SSD is a separate physical disk SATA hard disk, it will be the M.SATA chip on the motherboard.
Please it is confirmed; I can by adding a larger 256 GB internal SSD, with the o/s re installed on the SSD with HDD as storage of 2 TB.
Best regards & Thanks Sean
Hi Sean,.
Yes, it's an mSATA SSD and scalable. You have the option to install the OS on a bigger mSATA SSD if you choose to do.

Can I replace the SSD HARD drive in my sve15123cv
Hello
I use sve15123cv, I want to replace the SSD HARD drive. Is this possible?
Which SSD is good?
Hi zunnun,.
Thank you for visiting the Sony community!
It is possible, but we cannot guarantee that it will work without any problem. You need to consider certain things such as the specification of the HARD drive, thickness or dimension of the SSD that you plan to install first. Your Vaio SVE15123CV is a non American model. Unfortunately, we do not have full details and specifications of your machine. However, you can coordinate with the Sony support based on your location or where you bought the device.
