On Boolean text wrapping buttons on front panel

I have an example that shows the actually text wrapping a Boolean button on a façade.  How do you get the text to be sent back?  I'm trying to shriink the width of the box to force it to wrap, but it snaps right back.  Even, I went the properties and tried to change the width, and it still appears return to contain the text on a single line.

Thank you

    Hello.

I try to run synchronous, continuous analog conversion of 2 cards of PXI-6259, and capture the State of the several digital at the same time.  I managed to get everything is configured and working properly, however I have a problem if the user presses the button "pause" on the front panel.

From what I can tell, acquisitions of data will continue to run in the background (I'm using a task DAQmx and stop was never called).  For my analog inputs, this is not a problem.  However, the digital inputs always generate a ' 200010 - on-board memory overflow error. Due to the limitations of system and/or the bandwidth of the bus, the driver could not read data the device enough fast to follow the flow of the unit. »

Is it possible to register for an event of user interface that is generated when the user presses the button "pause", so that I can stop the acquisitoin of data before the error occurs?

    Thanks in advance,

I thought to add my own button "pause" / control, but my users have become accustomed to hitting the pause on the front panel button, and it will be difficult to get them to change.  I guess that the error would remind them :-)

Well, that's easy to fix - change the appearance of window properties if the toolbar is not visible, while the code runs, and there will be a pause button for your users to click.

Many of our applications have a function somewhat like this.  My colleague implementation in a very simple way: he put the graphical indicator within a box structure.  Connect a Boolean control "pause" to the structure of the case, and that's it.  Data acquisition runs constantly but will only update the chart when the pause button is false.  This approach might work for you?

  • button arrow in front panel

    Hi guys,.

I want to have an arrow in the front panel to control the operation of a number.

    Which means;

If I press the arrow key to the left, the number decreases and arrow key to the right, the reverse occurs.

I found a drawing of arrow under the decorations but cannot change anything with her.

Basically, the arrow is sufficient to act as a Boolean switch.

Once pressed, it lights up and the number accordingly runs and stops when letting go.

I want to have the arrow keys to make the more presentable façade.

    Pls advice me to.

PLs Note: I'm not using the keyboard to simulate on the front panel. It is purely on the façade.

one thing you can do. I should work

    1. make a right click button in VI and select Advanced > customize

    2. then a window will appear where you can customize the button.

    3. click on the right button and select Import an image from the Clipboard > decal

    4. it should look like this (attached)

  • Boolean front panel disconnected from the block diagram

It is very strange behavior I've ever seen elsewhere.

I opened a program that I have used before that works, after the replacement of some dll which is called.  I don't know if it's relevant, but just in case.

In any case, I have a structure of the event in a loop.  Events are to turn certain values of output in a bitmap and update some of the entries.  As you can see in the screenshot of the time-out loop, the values of the input bitmap are fed directly in the Boolean flags.  The problem is that even if the thread is true, the façade is not up-to-date.  Also, when I click on the button stop, the Boolean value on the wire is not up-to-date.  You can see on the screenshot of the probe and the front panel.

At no time have I stopped explicitly updates from the front panel.  Indeed, the status indicator updates correctly.  But he only makes a Subvi.  If you pass a reference to a front panel indicator in a Subvi, it locks the front for some reason any?  I thought for sure, I had done this several times in the past without problem.

I'll post not rather the VI publicly without more deletions.  Just the stuff company owner.  I wouldn't mind sending them to someone OR, however.

    Thanks for any help.

It was apparently a transient state.  I arrived, open LabVIEW and the VI, and everything is fine now.  I don't know what that looks like, I am back and found a few nodes property overwrite values.  I promise you that I will not change anything.  I should have tried this yesterday, but it was the end of my day at that time and I had a place to be.

If you want, bradyAE, you can send me your email address and I'll send you the VI, if you think it is useful to investigate it.  Like I said before, I would rather not post it publicly.

  • How to add a record button on the front panel to save waveform data

Hi, I'm new kind of LabVIEW and I worked on a code for an agilent oscilloscope communicate via GPIB and so far it works well on the collection of these two analog channels one by one, "Not UNLIMITED" but it does the trick (vpp, Vrms, frequency, etc.).  I've added the feature to add data to a .csv file waveform (problem: opens a dialog box until the user gathers all the data.) Solution: I want the user to save the. File CSV whenever he wants to use later on the front panel). I've added another feature to get a snapshot of the curve waveform (problem: opens a dialog box.) Solution: I want the user to save the JPEG file, whenever he wants to take a snapshot ("take snapshot" button on the front panel)).  I work with the agilent hp54645d driver. I have attached my code, if someone can tell me please how do I do this (maybe cabling and structures are solutions do not know). Thank you in advance.

I would recommend adding a case structure just around the two record VI and a button to check the condition of the structure of each case. If you want a button to control both save functions you can put the two record functions in the same structure of business controlled by a single button. You are right in saying that the loop will cause your code runs until the stop button is pressed or until the stop condition is met. If you are wanting the while loop to stop once the recorded information you can use the button that you use to control structures case to also stop the while loop. I hope this information helps.

  • Front panel FPGA Boolean mechanical action is important to control the actions of a host RT?

When a host RT controls an FPGA VI shipped through Boolean values on the face before of the FPGA VI, no matter what setting the mechanical action is used by the Boolean front panels?  For example, they all just act as "Switch When you press on" or the law "lock when you press on" as one-shots?

Okay, it looks like I have a little bit of clarification to make.

First of all, the patterns of waveform above are correct. As soon as the handshaking signal Host_Write if high, the data is written to the next clock cycle. At this point, "Lock" options are equivalent to eachother, and all the options of 'Switch' are equivalent to the eachother. Each takes 150ns to receive the signal of Host_Write.

The only thing in my post above that is misleading is when I said that transitions occur at the same time. This is not true, as the writing must be serialy, 150ns apart.

In case anyone is interested, I enclose the test and the test bench project. On your host machine, simply generate the files for the simulation construction-spec, then replace the tb_NiFPGASimulationModel.vhd generated by the one I've attached (this is the test bench). This should be at "C:\NIFPGA\simulation\FPGA_Boolean_Mechanical_Action\FPGA_Target\MechanicalActionTest\user". Given that forums don't add .vhd files, please rename the .txt in .vhd.

  • How to create a custom control for a button where the look apply to everyone else but not the Boolean text?

    Hi all

I would like to create a button custom as a master, so that if I change the look of the master all other buttons are changed.

I did it with a custom control, such as a 'type strict def' otherwise the look will change , BUT if I do this as a strict type def I can't change the Boolean text more which should be different on each button.

How to create a master control of a button where the look apply to everyone else but not the Boolean text?

    Steve Chandler wrote:

I don't think that you can do. I just looked and as I suspected the Boolean property text is read only for strict typedefs, you cannot use the nodes property to change the text.

As a just solution make it a typedef. When you want to change the open look the typedef and strict rendering, make your changes, then make no strict again. You will need to update the text Boolean yet once for all instances. Kind of pain. This is perhaps something for the exchange of ideas.

Alternatively, remove Boolean text and replace with legend

  • Boolean text of multiple buttons

Is there an easier way to read several Boolean texts? Possibly by a loop for, but would need to be able to change the reference to accomplish this task.

It looks like almost all of your buttons are in a cluster, then you might do something like this instead.

(If the cluster contains also other controls, a TI little more code is required).

  • A button on the front panel reset

I use a record button on the front panel, in the mode "change when you press on. I have run the VI, then press the record button. After having intercepted the VI, the button lights. How do the button return automatically to the OFF state during execution of the VI next time?

Set the property to "False" node, it will reset.

  • Is there a way to put a button on the front panel only when clicked gives a pop-up dialog box with more information on it?

    Hello world

The simulations that I create are very simple themselves but are intended to use in the classroom to help students learn more about the proven theory.  I hope to be able to place a 'help' or 'other info' button on the front panel that rises wants more info on theory, they can click on it and a pop up appears with background information on it.  It should also have a second button to close it and return to the main façade.  Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

    Thank you!

Use a structure of the event on the main vi when the button is clicked, launches a "help" void / vi. On the inside of the Sub vi (with the set properties to load the front when it is called, of course), use another structure of the event to wait until then click on the button of the Subvi, you can return to the main VI. Do you need assistance on using the structures of the event?

  • Scan of the computer does not work in silent mode of the button on the front panel.

The machine is the Photosmart all-in-1 6280 on a network of small size and using the HP Solution Center. Basically everthing works fine, but when I use the button on the front panel to scan a document, it seems necessary to walk to the computer to answer a question about whether I want to scan another document until I could walk to the printer/scanner and press the button to scan the following document. Surely, there must be a way to do the scan run in quiet mode so that I don't have to keep clicking OK on the computer every time? I have already disabled the overview of digitization and the prompt for advanced options.

Oops, forget all that; now I found the setting 'interrogate analyses' which stood on another branch of the installation menus. That solved my problem

  • How to wrap the text af:button

    Hi team,

I have a button with text as LOAD. If his changes to the RECOVERY DATA.

I want to wrap the text and should therefore:-RECOVERY

    DATA

I gave to width of button as width: 40px; skin: no | normal | avoid | inherit

I tried all the text wrapping options but its do not wrap text.

    Please suggest me.

    Thank you

    Céline Michelet

I want to say that in my code the button text will be created dynamically. If this is not possible for me to put any symole as & #10 / \n

If you check this 'dynamic' text, I don't see why you can't change the text (and example you provided is still using the fixed text)

You can try putting white-space: normal; to FA: selector: button text.

    So, in your skin:

    .multilineButton af|button::text {
        white-space: normal;
    }

    and on your component:

  • Front panel locked, but not due to the structure of the event

    Hi it LV community.

I did a staemachine program that executes an oscilloscope (screenshot of a provided below... the State of the problem). I ran my program yesterday and it worked very well. Then, like a model, a dialog box opens and I just clicked on it in a hurry. now my front hangs as soon as I move the above-mentioned State "the Oscilloscope settings.

As indicated, I have go a repeat loop that collects successive impulses of my oscilloscope and displays on the front panel (it works fine). In parallel, I have a structure of the event that makes the tail for the real-time feedback of changes to parameters that I placed on the façade (exodus of state change).

Here's the problem: as soon as I State 'Oscilloscope Settings' using a Boolean button on the front panel for get me there, the front hangs... No event triggered by this point, and even if it did, I already deselected the "Lock panel until the end of the matter for this event" checkbox in the case where the structure menu.

So WHY is my front lock now? Thoughts anyone?

Read the detailed help for event structures.

He urged that a single event structure serve in a VI. There are moments where more can be used effectively, but caution and a thorough understanding of the structure are needed.

The problem is that you have several structures of the event in the various cases of the state machine and they are set to respond to the same events.

When the button Set Oscilloscope, the structures of the event in the purchase Menu and home screen States receive the event. The two lock the screen, but only one of these cases may work. It can transfer control to the State of the Oscilloscope settings, but the other event responding to this same event structure maintains the locked Panel.

The solution is not not to release any of the event. The default value is usually the best setting. The best solution is to spend on an architecture of producer/consumer (events). Who uses two parallel loops. The producer has the one and the only structure of the event and passes orders to consumer loop through a queue.

Probalby want as the mechanical action on the buttons to lock when you press. Put kiosks inside the respective case of event changed value and local variables becomes unnecessary.

Gauges and dials, buttons, none of them seem to be designed for continuous operation of 360 degrees. Of course I can set the scale of 0 to 360, but I can't get rid of the gap between 0 and 360.

How to set up a pledge to show a continuous 360 degrees without a gap between 0 and 360?

To change the gap, take the line high marker and move it to the desired location (in another origin, enter the low marker).

Also, don't forget to wrap the raw in 0.360 rank if it falls outside. Here's a quick example (LabVIEW 8.0).
