On labview 8.6 & 8.2 problem

My computer installed 8.2 file exe, which is built by the labview 8.2.

Now, I install the exe 8.6 to the same computer, which is built by the labview 8.6.

So, all my files 8.2 exe cannot run.

I want to execute the exe 8.2, what can I do?

I think additional installers can improve, but I don't know that we need to add.

You try to run these executables on your development PC or another PC which is not the development of LV on it environment.

As long as the computer has two LV 8.2 and 8.6 run time engines installed, either executable must be able to run.  If the computer has measurement and Automation explore installed, look under the link of the software in the tree and see what time engines Run are listed.

I'm quite new to LabView and not too experienced with instrument control so I was wondering if someone could help me to solve my problem?

Currently, I'm using LabView 2011 and I'm trying to read pressure DualGauge of Pfeiffer (TPG 262) pressure sensor and display the readings of two pressure on LabView.  However, when I run my program, the pressure readings are not displayed - what is displayed are default 0.00 if same mBar pressure reading a reading of the display of the DualGauge probe.  To connect the sensor, I use a RS232 cable and have managed to find the device on my device manager, so I don't think that the connection is the problem (I've also seen the port appears in the Device Manager, when I connected the sensor via RS232 and USB in my computer).  I also use Subvi Pfeiffer in my code, and I suspect that the problem may be in there.

You have not tested really do anything. Devices and MAX Manager displays only the com port that you added to the computer. It does nothing to verify that an instrument is truly connected. You might have the wrong settings of com or the wrong type of cable serial (null-modem is required). I suggest that you start with program such as hyperterminal, PuTTY or MAX and try something simple. It seems that you will receive an acknowledgement returned by the instrument when a correct command is received. Make sure that this simple step that happens.

  • Butterworth on Labview 8.6 FPGA filter problem

    Hello

I was testing the filters of reconfigurable low-pass butterworth on FPGA found from the Finder of example (using Reconfigurable Butterworth filter - R - series.lvproj). This VI generates a sinusoidal signal and passes through a filter of Butterworth. When I put the filter low pass frequency to a low value (~ 2 Hz) and generate a sinusoidal signal of 0.5 Hz filttered out is not so much more (see figure). The filter is 2nd order, so this is a characteristic of the filter? And what do I do if I want a taste of high-frequency and use a low cutoff value?

    -Heikki

    Hi Heikki,

The reconfigurable version (IE, with 'See the terminal configuration' checked) does not support the implementation of low-frequency modified. This is because we cannot change the filter architectures running. The nonreconfigurable version, however, must use the same implementation updated him you saw in LabVIEW 8.5 for the low cutoff frequencies, defined here as the frequencies less de.01 * sampling frequency.

Your example of 100 kech sampling rate. / s and 2 Hz cut-off is pretty extreme, even for the implementation changed. The usual technique for situations like this must be a smoothing downsampling at a rate that is better suited to the break you need. Rational resampling of the FPGA Math palette & analysis is designed for this purpose.

    Kind regards

  • Problems with arduino labview Interface

I have the labview-arduino interface, but the problems came when I run the program, sometimes it work perfectly, but sometimes (almost all the time), I can not connect this time, the series of programs and do not show any kind of problems, I can see that in the resourse computers two visa, I don't know if it's because she I soppose comunication , but my arduino do not work, and I can use perfectly with the arduino IDE, but not with VISA, I used the Arduino IDE to be shure that works my Arduino board

so if you know how to solve this problem, please help me!

    Thank you!

There is no need to host files somewhere else.  Feel free to download on the forums and attach them to your message.

Minor first comments.  Why are you re-reading your every 2 seconds config file?  Expect you to change?  If it is then played once and not proofread.

I think it would be better if you stopped when an error occurred, you can do this by wiring to the RO error enter the stop condition, or use the arithmatic composed with gold.

But I think the main question you have, it's that your Arduino reference may be whipped out if you do the wrong things.  If your equal comparison is false, you go to the wrong case, where you are not passing the arduino reference.  So when you go to close you don't close your reference and your equipment will always be open, and you try to run again will result in an error.  For even if your loop runs for 0 iterations your reference is lost.  An updated version, which has some of these changes is attached.

  • Files reading TDMS problem in Labview 2010, created in 2009, error-2503

I did my measurements on my laptop with Labview 2009 installed.

The file format has been TDMS v1.0

I can read these files with the TDMS files viewer and I am able to do analysis on my laptop.

On my desk I have Labview 2010.

If I run the vi in Labview 2010 analysis, I get the following-2503 error: specified file does not have the PDM file format standards.

    What's wrong?

I can open the file in Excel with the add-in.

I've included a tdms file created on my laptop in Labview 2009

For this problem, it's a bug in LabVIEW 2010 (not in previous versions of LabVIEW), sorry for the inconvenience. While the side R & D to fix this problem, we also a workaround solution, but perhaps a little more complicated:

    (1) Please use older version of LabVIEW (like 2009 or 8.6) for defragement file by using the node TDMS defragment, if it works fine, you can then open it défragmentée TDMS in LabVIEW 2010.

    (2) if the PDM defragment returns an error, then you can always find your defragmened files in the temp directory of Windows, but under a different filename (randomly generated), you can type "%Temp%" Run windows to open your temporary file.

  • Problem of comunication GPIB (Tektronix TK2465)

Hello, I'm quite new with labview and I have a problem with the GPIB communication; Dealing with a Tektronix TK2465BCT, I plugged a GPIB-USB-HS to my PC Windows8 adapter, when I try to communicate with the instrument via NI MAX seems to communicate properly, or at least that it is recognized by the PC on the correct address, as soon as I start a VI downloaded from the page of the pilot of the aircraft it detects not the oscillocope. Any idea? Thank you.

It is a very old and unsupported. I have not downloaded so I don't know if it uses VISA or GPIB low-level functions. You specify a name, address or the resource before you run it? What is the error you get?

  • Why Labview block when you switch one application of TestStand to another?

I have several 2013 TestStand applications that use a number of LabView 2013 screws on a test computer.  When the driver leaves a TestStand program and opens another often Labview does not close properly and therefore what TestStand tries to load the LabView VIs, it is caught or pass just and fails every test that is affected by LabView.  The only potential problems I know are that two of the applications have been created in LabView 2009 and then updated to 2013.  Then two other TestStand created applications in 2013 use the function 'UnloadAllModules '.

Are there known issues with LabView 2013 causing it or ideas of what I could do wrong?

    Hello Michael,

I found my problem.  In my case a VI don't was get closed in cleaning because of the previous command don't failed Manager correctly.  This VI would remain open and when I ran another TestStand sequence, when he tried to load that LabView VI he would just stroll.  But the result of this error could be seen when I closed TestStand and LabView are left open (since it was frozen) or execute the sequence and its closure.  So if you tried to LabView pop - up it wouldn't show the start start screen because it had frozen.

I found the problem by activating the option view the façade VI in TestStand for all calls of VI.  The VI that remained open was the problem VI.

Thanks to all who responded to your help!

  • XP weird errors since I installed LabVIEW 2012

    Greetings NO.

My original problem was a conflict of Sentinel Protection Installer - see http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/LabVIEW-and-Sentinel-Protection-Installer-clashes/m-p/2267724 and http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/F852A8CFA4A8CABE862571C00068EF7C?OpenDocument.

Now, I did the fix for LabVIEW 2009 and later, no problem. But now I'm getting an error XP sound (piano notes 2) after I log in once I have implemented the fix of the Sentinel. If I don't connect immediately, say 30 seconds - 1 minute, I get a "beep" of the machine, not XP. But if I connect when the startup screen appears where I have to enter my password, we are good.

I also noticed after I stop I get the error "lktsrv.exe" - similar to this post - http://forums.ni.com/t5/Instrument-Control-GPIB-Serial/Error-msgs-upon-Windows-XP-shutdown-lktsrv-ex...

Any suggestions? I've never had these before noise and can only attribute it to the installation of LabVIEW.

    Thank you!

    TheLT

    Hello LT,.

Thanks for posting on our forums, as well as provide general information about your question. These "error noises" in XP may possibly be related to several services (for example lktsrv.exe) who try to start your Windows XP-based computer starts. To remove this error, try and set your services so that it starts when your system starts up, and only if they are really needed. You can do it manually by following the information in this knowledge base article.

  • Computers multicore and reading large-format ASCII in LabVIEW.

I have a question on LabVIEW and multicore computers.

Earlier, I used LabVIEW 8.2 and had problems reading large size with labview ASCII.txt format. The 'out of memory' error was a 1.8 GHz with 2 GB RAM computer.

Now go buy a new computer, and again, I need to read the ASCII.txt or EDF format with large size and an updated release of labview. So my question is: ' will be computers multicore-quad (quad 2.0 GHZ with newer processor) surpass duo-multicore (2.7 GHz with a bit older processor) or is it only the amount of RAM I should?

    Best regards

    Jesper Jeppesen

Depends on your file size and data types, but I think so.

I know I'm repeating myself, but again, when it is possible I would avoid to read that much data in memory. Code is not portable on another machine with less RAM.

And if you use the toolkits LabVIEW 64-bit is not an option when even given that most is not supported.

In addition, the code compiled on LV 64-bit won't work on 64 - bit systems.

  • "VI a error 1002288.The full version of LabVIEW Development is necessary to correct the errors."

    Hello

I had created an executable in LabVIEW 8.6 on a PC windows XP 32-bit. The application uses some screws of Vision. The executable is running in most of the PC except one. the PC is a windows 7 64 bit. I first got the error "Labview support 3 error code: could not load front". "" I fixed this by changing the settings of the source file in the application builder. Now I get the error message "VI a error 1002288.The full version of LabVIEW Development is necessary to correct the errors"and the exe displays a run button broken.»

But if I build the exe in the same PC I get no error and it works very well. Moreover, I tested this exe in another PC with the same configuration, it works. I tried to reinstall labview in the PC, the problem persists.

    Hi Nitrox,

There is no official adapter for LabVIEW 8.6 in Windows 7. See link below.

    www.ni.com/LabVIEW/OS-support/

Upgrade to SP1 LV2009 should solve your problem. We had this problem with another client and update SP1 LV2009 solved his problem and should solve your problem too. If you have a problem after the update let me know.

  • LabVIEW does not support for NI-DAQmx.

    Hello fellow programmers.

I am an absolute beginner with LabVIEW and I have the problem that even if I installed the latest versions of the NOR-DAQmx (9.7.5) driver and LabVIEW (2013) I get the error message "LabVIEW does not support for NOR-DAQmx. Please reinstall.

I created a task in the NOT-MAX. According to the tutorial now there should be an element in LabVIEW under "Measure i/o", but it is not. I carried the task via drag & drop in the block diagram, but when I want to turn in code, I get the above message.

    Operating system: Windows XP SP3

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    crossrulz,

Thank you for your response. Well, I installed the latest version of NOR-DAQmx (9.8) and this time I also installed packages for the former executives etc and now it works.

  • Problems with the help of control Edit Expression with tab control

    Hi all

I am facing a strange problem when using Expression Edit Control with a tab control.

When I put the Expression of the RichEdit controls on several tabs in a tab control, and when I run the application, the Expression Edit controls in a single tab are visible, others get invisible! I do NOTHING with them, but they do not simply show upward!

I first faced this problem using Expr editing controls in Visual Studio c#. NET - with tab controls. For verification, I created a simple VI is LabVIEW to see if the problem is with my request / problem with Expression Edit controls in c#, etc. But voila!  A similar behavior in LabVIEW too!

I'm doing something wrong? OR do not do something right? Ask someone for help please ASAP!

    Thanks a ton in advance!

PS: Attached the VI here (LabVIEW 8.5) just download and run it, and you will see probably what I'm talking about!

  • Problem correct launch of sequences shortcut on the desktop file

I created a shortcut on the desktop that runs successfully a sequence file.  The icon I have chosen was "C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\TestStand 3.5\UserInterfaces\Full-Featured\LabVIEW\TestExec.exe".  The problem is the following:

I have several set up desktop shortcuts to launch multiple sequence files.

If the operator closes TestStand before closing the current file in the sequence, by activating another shortcut, TestStand opens with the previous sequence file loaded.  The file in the correct sequence is displayed in the ListBox on the left of the screen; However, the file of the previous sequence is loaded.  This will inevitably cause confusion with the operator.

    Any ideas will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    2 options:

    1. tell the users to close the sequence when they are made by choosing File > close all files of sequence and executions.  TestStand remembers the last sequence which was open.  He re - opens there next time that TestStand gets run.

    2. change the source code of TestExec.exe close the file in sequence on farm.  Or do not remember the open movie file.  If you are using the full user interface, you want to look in the VI called Full UI - configure Application Manager.vi which is called UI - full Initialize.vi.  You will see a property with ReloadSequenceFilesOnStart node.  Change the enum to ReloadFile_All to ReloadFile_None.  Rebuild the exe file, and then deploy it.  You will have to look for it if you use the Simple graphic interface, but it will be the same property node.

If you go with several it's more work for you, but then you don't have the problem of the operators running the wrong test on WEAR it wrong.  Option 1 is a matter of training.

  • HAVE ENGINE-701 mega order of Robotics with LabVIEW

Hi, I am asking someone here had any experience working with the I-701 ENGINE?

I'm new to programming, I am currenty working on the conversion of a C program header to control the engine mentioned above in LabVIEW and I met some problem. See the engine, according to the C program, receive the hexadecimal code for control.

I translated part of the C program (only the function Rotate and SendOperaCommand, the SendOperCommand is a Subvi in the VI. According to my supervisor the rest are not required to be converted) in a LabVIEW vi. with the same order, sends the same hexadecimal codes however the engine does not respond. The original program in C and LabVIEW version that I've converted are attached to this post.

Can someone watch the program and let me know if I made an error converting the program or perhaps the rest of the program is necessary to convert or maybe it's something that I don't know?

You must use the VISA functions rather than obsolete functions serial port you have in it.

In addition, there many Rube Goldberg constructions working with bytes.  Points of constraint because of the incorrect data type.  Your Subvi is not present, but just seems to take two bytes, adding the header and the checksum.  But without it, I can't tell if it's doing what it's supposed to, because all your code before which is the conversion of hexadecimal strings, rather than working directly with the bytes.  In addition, the Boolean functions work directly on numeric values.  No need to convert Boolean and back dies.

The attached extract should be the same as your C code did (I have no way to test it), but with much less code.
