On my backup of directories in Mac Mail?

Hello:
I move all mail messages that I want to keep my directory of Mac in a mailbox under structure.  I deleted a file by mistake.  I tried to use Time Machine to restore the directory.  I can not get on my upcoming Mac directories in backups.  So, I guess that Time Machine backup of these.  Please confirm me.  And, how you save these on my Mac mail directories?  So it is the more important things, I would like to see a solution.

Thank you.

Please bring the Mail browser window to the front, then enter the Time Machine. You will see a series of windows Mail cascading at the time, each representing a snapshot of the database of e-mail.

Scroll to the most recent snapshot that contains the messages that you want to restore. Select the messages, or select an entire mailbox, then click on restore. Messages will be restored to a new mailbox named 'com.apple.Mail.backup' in the Group on my Mac. From there you can move wherever you want.

If you do not see the recovered messages, place the cursor on the title on my Mac in the mailbox list. An element, see the or the skin will appear to the right of the header. If this is the show, click it.

According to the mailbox store how much you have, you may need to scroll the list of mailboxes upwards or downwards to see the new entry.

According to some information, you will need to restart Mail or maybe wait a bit for the database to be reindexed before it manifests. I can not confirm these reports.

One of the main things are mac mail backup. If this is the case just review your Time Machine preferences > Options and ensure that the application is not excluded, or that it is included. How to check depends on how TM has been installed. The default value is included on your startup disk

  • Change of privilege HD now Mac Mail does not open

    Couple of questions, self-inflicted:

I changed the privilege HD read-only for everyone no access and then click on "apply to the included items. I released on bail after a few minutes, change my mind with a reboot. I now get the re-boot, the pop-up "library should be rebuilt to open applications. I keep having to enter my PW for this.

In addition, Mac Mail now does not open. It is a big problem and I don't know where to start.

I repair permissions. Is there an easy way to return to the previous default permissions and privilege by default to make things work as they were before?

Can you make a different Get Info and change everyone else read-only?

First try and see if that fixes the Mail. If this is not the case, here are a few ideas more troubleshooting.

    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • How can I sync my iPhone with my mac mail

iPhone 6s (iOS 9.3.4), McBook Air (El Capitan 10.11.6)

How can I sync my iPhone with my mac mail without using iCloud?

I use several 'GMX' and 'Web' of e-mail accounts.

When I send email from my iPhone, they are only saved on it, but neither on the (GMX / Web) server or on my Mac.

For e-mail accounts to synchronize between devices, they must be configured as IMAP accounts. POP protocol doesn't have this capability.

  • How UNSYNC Mac Mail and Gmail, so the messages are only 'read' on each device?

    Hello

I use Mac Mail and Gmail with my own domain through Google Apps.

My account managers have personal emails (IE [email protected] & [email protected]) and they also have an email that they all use two ([email protected]) which is set up on both of their computers for if someone is sick, they know what the other is working on.

The problem is that when one of them reads an email on the "[email protected] email, mark it as read on the enamel of the other person too.» Is there some way to do so a new message arrives and he scored only as read email when each person reads it?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. Google apps uses IMAP or ActiveSync, which are intended to reflect all changes across the mailbox is used. Looks like you're after more than one distribution from the list which will copy the email in each personal users box, as a list of all the staff, but as you have several accounts, which could become confusing.

It might be worth looking at login via POP - if Google allows. POP basically just download all will send them on the sync server and custom changes (providing check you what are the options in the account settings). It is not guaranteed that POP is not generally pushed, so will check every 5 min or so - and if someone read and email deleted at this time, it will not download a copy.

Alternative would be to set up rules that transmits an entrant copy each users mailbox and that filter in a subfolder, but this all duplicate and the habit of thinking whats been answered or deleted in the source mailbox.

    I hope that makes sense...

  • Mac Mail showing a plugin in/Users/USER/location when there is no user named USER account

Thanks in advance for your comments. I'm hopelessly confused and I was afraid that my infected machine.

I tried running Mac Mail a couple of times and it stopped on me. Then the third time it closes that I received an error message that a plugin has caused the problem. The path of the Plugin is listed as /Users/USER/Library/Mail/*/HockeySDK.framework/Versions/A/HockeySDK and the Plugin identifier is net.hockeyapp.sdk.mac.

I searched using terminal, finder and the console for a user named 'USER' on my mac account. I see users root are my user name.

I understand that it is possible to hide a user account, but have you tried the commands that should display all hidden user accounts and they have not revealed a user named USER account. To be clear, I have tried all the standard ways in the terminal to find a user account and cannot.

Is someone can you please tell me if my Mac is infected with some hidden user account? Here are some of the comments of the 'details and System Configuration problem' as the form of question will allow me to answer:

    Process: Mail [2868] path: /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail ID: com.apple.mail Version: 9.3 (3124) build Info: Mail-3124000000000000 ~ 2 Type of Code: X 86-64 (Native) Parent process:? [1] background: mail [2868] User ID: 501

Found the same thing via a report of incidents for mail:

    Path of the PlugIn: /Users/USER/Library/Mail/*/HockeySDK.framework/Versions/A/HockeySDK

The identifier for the PlugIn: net.hockeyapp.sdk.mac

    PlugIn version: 3.2.0 (31)

It seems to be a related e-mail folder.

In my case, I get this report due to a persistent fall whenever I click on the "Get new mail" icon in the mail.

I wonder if someone answers this question could enlighten us as well.

    Thank you.

  • To Mac Mail new laptop computer

    Hello

Just got a new Macbook Pro and try to establish a new as a new laptop so don't want to use the wizard to migrate my old Macbook pro (running El Captain). I followed the instructions here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7046452?searchText=moving%20mac%20mail and here http://www.macinstruct.com/node/183

When I start mac mail after this passage, he doesn't see that my iCloud account others 5 accounts (mixture of gmail, imap and exchange). Any ideas why or what I did wrong?

    Thank you

Instead of trying to make a difference, why not just recreate each e-mail account and use your credentials. IMAP and Exchange accounts should repopulate themselves as they were since emails are not stored locally.

  • Inbox Gmail takes to always appear entirely in Mac Mail

I'm a long-time Gmail user. I have Mac Mail 9.3 (3124) and use several different servers IMAP e-mail with ease. Gmail, not so much.

When I go on my Gmail inbox, often only the last element displayed, apparently forever, and that happens when I share my Gmail inbox and then swap back. It; s for a jam. Abandonment of post and reopening has no significant effect. Sometimes, I have to wait for what seems like the rest of my life before older messages that the last are shown for me.

In my other IMAP accounts, this is not the case. They are more nearly instantaneous by displaying a 'full screenload' as makes no difference.

My viewing preferences are set this way:

I would rather not change those unless those who are the real problem.

The problem may have started a major release of OS or two it y a. I spent Snow Leopard live in Yosemite, and I remember Mail behave strangely and then or then-abouts

Why use gmail instead of your ISP anyway? You are already paying for it. Gmail is not secure. There's a reason Google allows you to use for 'free '. Try to read the terms and conditions. You can use an email address free iCloud. Implicitly, it comes with your Apple device, so you really paid for it already.

  • How to make boxes to the letters for my alias iCloud in Mac Mail

How to make mailboxes mailbox for my alias iCloud in Mac Mail?

I have just set up my e-mail address of iCloud for the first time.  I had an Apple account for many years, but had not hitherto iCloud email address.  After that, Mac Mail automatically created an Inbox and an Outbox called, "iCloud" in the Mac Mail.

Following the instructions I found online from Apple, I created an alias.  I would like to create the mailbox for the alias. How can I do this?

Because it cannot be changed or deleted, I won't use my "main" iCloud address email for anything whatsoever.  Everything will be done by one or two aliases.

    Thank you for helping.

You can create a folder for iCloud in the same way, when you create folders for any of your e-mail accounts. However, I suspect that you hope to create an Inbox specially for your alias addresses, which you can not do so. Aliases are aliases for your primary address, they are not different addresses, as such mail to your iCloud address and it's aliases are all moving in the same Inbox.

What you can do is create a folder for mail addressed to your alias and create a rule to move relevant mail in the Inbox in this folder.

my mac pro is backup in the capsule of time even when I was at work, which means that the time capsule is consumed my data plan. Can anyone suggest a way I can have it the backup only when my mac pro and time capsule is in the same local wifi

If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

  • Mac Mail continues to request password Hotmail account

Recently my Mac Mail were continually asked my hotmail account password. When I enter it I get a message that it cannot verify the user and the password. The pop3 account was changed to popmail.outlook.com on the Mac. Worked until about 2 weeks ago.

I was not able to put in place than others, IMAP or Exchange Outlook. If you try to use "Other E-mail", it may not always check the password. It still works on the iphone 4, so I know that the password is fine. I can access in the browser if the account is fine too.

I deleted VPN and firewall but no luck. I deleted all the old password Keychain for 'hotmail' and 'live', just in case.

I don't want to lose all of my old emails that they are located in several folders work with other emails from other servers... Can't risk to delete and re-add this account. I have years of important emails. I realize I could use time machine to retrieve messages, but it is painful and slow.

    Hello Lexxiconn,

    Welcome to Apple Support communities.

As I understand it, there is a problem with the Mail on your Mac application, constantly asking the password for your Hotmail e-mail account. The article below describes a similar problem and provides general troubleshooting tips that should help you to solve the problem.

  • Mac mail Gmail expires

I use Mac Mail with imap to access my institutional email account, which is managed by Google. Very, very often, when I put them to the top of my window in Mail for Mac, there will be a small triangle with an exclamation point inside, next to the icon of my box 'in '. If I click on it, I get a dialog box with a message stating that the connection with the Gmail server has expired. Usually, that takes care of itself in about ten minutes, but it's pretty boring, and I wonder if it is what I can do about it. We do not have a DSL Internet connection very slow, but it is much more reliable than the problem of frequent timeout suggest.

Some suggestions that you can try.
