  The Intel HD 4000 driver works, but when it comes to nVidia, it says "cannot find the map", something like this.
  When you try to install the driver from the site nVidias, its says that I have to use Toshibas pilots.

  How can I install the driver for the 640 M?
  I tested with '296,0 for 3D' and '296.0.

  As I sit in front of my new laptop L670, from the left end of the keyboard comes up and down a whirring frequent sound that I'm pretty sure is the CPU fan
  (not HD).
  What is too much? I find it disturbing. There is no sound from my old Toshiba 1 year. The room temperature is a constant 20degrees, so it is not overheating.
  And does so even when sitting idle with just the screen Windows7 IE no software activity going on at all.

  I'm worried that this is a faulty computer. It is old (for me) - 2 days, purchased new. Still able to resume.

  Satellite A200 is old model of laptop, and I can imagine that the fan cooling and air conditioning grill are full of dust.
  Before changing anything your laptop must be completely disassembled and cleaned. I did this several times in the past and I must say that my books were much quieter than before. After the cooling system will work properly and laptop will be able to take a breath.

  I bought my Toshiba Satellite P850 12z a couple of weeks and since day 1, he made this annoying rattling noise. After a week or two to try to ignore it, I searched what it is.   I left about 4 days until that my 21 days return policy runs out and I need to know if there is a way to change this or if I have to return the thing. The only thing I've found that helps is to keep the HARD assets with defrag disk, but it works only for about 20 minutes at a time. I've had laptops before and never had this problem and there is no way that I can put up with this noise for 3 hours while trying to write an essay.

  The nVidia chip would allow the current apps much smother but it creates more heat.

  This would affect the cooling fans which means that the fans would go more quickly and often.
  So, theoretically the laptop with Intel GPU should be a little more quiet.

  I bought the laptop in February 2011 and the fan noise deteriorated over time, now. I've read many threads in this forum and elsewhere about this problem and I think that the problems are basically the same.

  Now that I've read some that messages stating that the new BIOS, released in September have apparently solved the problem, I did a BIOS update (Version 2.3) to meet the same problem again.

  The fan stops when the temperature is below a certain threshold, in my case according to CoreTemp it seems to be at about 50-55 ° C. At the moment the fan turns off, which is also confirmed by the monitor of health indicating the 0% fan speed.

  But you can try to change some Windows 7 power management settings.
