On the Satellite P30-131 power problem

I have a power problem and I tried the process of elimination, but could do with help, I gave as much detail as possible and appreciate any help or advice.

This started a few weeks ago and seems to be deteriorating slowly.
I turned on the laptop and all 3 lights before the main power on fully charged battery light and light green...

I started noticing a few times when my power cord is plugged into the laptop that, without warning, the laptop switches to the battery power and also turns off power light, battery light turns off too but which may or may not happen, in any case the laptop is still on but now running on battery.

I then out of the supply cable and reconnected it hoping that power is restored, but it has no effect, I have to close then low laptop unplug then Pug back in and I get all 3 lights and then I can start.
Now, when I boot it does not always solve the problem and I can finish on a few seconds of starting battery.

Its certainly not the battery because it has a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

The reason I think it is perhaps one of them is when the laptop going to battery, lead that is always plugged into laptop, I moved, and this can cause the return of t lights and also the laptop back in, power once again, but if I let go then it goes to the battery again one the light turns off. I also took the battery out and kicked and the laptop works but has lost the power sometimes when I moved it turned off my tour so I'm sure that it is related to the lead, but do not know if its internal or external.

Any help or advice appreciated

Thank you

What kind of help did you expect exactly?

> Its certainly not the battery as it was a new battery replaced 12 months however, its either the adapter or the connection inside the laptop that plugs into the adapter.

It seems you have tested everything that could be tested using common control procedures, I think that more is not possible
I can provide also a few suggestions and I m coming to the conclusion that neither electronic power supply is not ok or your power adapter.
But I would tend to the first; electronic power supply.

As you can see that these are only suggestions

The battery itself shows no signs of damage / leaks.

    Hello

Are you using the original Toshiba battery and AC/DC adapter or some parts of 3rd party?

That's why strange notebook doesn t start without battery. Usually, you can always start your laptop with an AC/DC adapter, battery is not necessary.

So either it's something wrong with the AC adapter or motherboard right now I think that it s mainboard failure.

    Hello John

I think this problem should be properly verified by the service partner. On this path, it is not easy to give an accurate diagnosis. To correctly power AC power adapter, power on the laptop power and power electronic housing must work well. If a place is defective, you can expect problems.

In my opinion, the unit should be checked by technicians.

  • Does not begin with satellite C655-S5128 - power problem

My laptop won't turn once I do a shutdown of windows.

After it closes completely, when I try the power button nothing happens (or an led, or screen the wind. it does not start)

After I remove the power supply and the battery for a minute and put it back, when I try to turn it on - it begins.
I changed the RAM with good, same thing. I cleaned up the laptop and put the dough on the processor thermal quality.

The model is: Toshiba Satellite C655-S5128.
This thing happens because I cleaned up my laptop.
(I mention that I have clean for laptops all day, so I know how to do)

The unit doesn't power since clean you the laptop?
Hmm these sounds like something was wrong during the cleaning procedure.

I think you have a lot of experience in cleaning for laptop and you know how to do this, but obviously this time you made a mistake, sorry to say this.

In my opinion, the question certainly pertains so a hardware problem I put t know that you clean the device and what parts (next to the CPU) have been removed during this procedure, but without doubt one of these parts have been affected or don't function properly.

I searched the forum and found many threads on Sat M70 and HDD upgrade.
    Check this thread:

The Satellite M70 (any sub-model is) seems supports the SATA HDD controller and, therefore, you need a HARD drive 2.5 SATA.

But as mentioned in the other thread, you could install a hardware diagnostic tool to ensure what controller it s is exactly.
    But I think it's a s SATA

  • What of the Satellite P30?

    Hello

I'm the owner of a new Satellite P30-J002 (in Australia), which has a processor of 3.33 P4 with a Mobility Radeon 9700 128 MB and 17 "widescreen (1680 x 1050). I wanted to find out as much as possible about it, but could not find any discussion on the P30 in these forums. It is a very unpopular model? Or does go under another name of model?

One thing that interests me is if there is an option to set the display of the Panel to scale by keeping the proportions locked when viewing in a lower resolution to 1680 x 1050 native? In my view, that this is que cela s' appelle called 'fixed proportions scaled' or something similar.

Also, is there a PDF manual describing all the BIOS settings available?

    Thanks for any help,
    Damian.

    Hello

Sorry, the forum is a European forum of Toshiba, there is mainly discussed European models, indeed there are the United States and Asian models, but not as much as the Europeans.

I had looked through the internet and concluded that the European P30 - 1xx are also specificcated with a P4 3.06 up to 3.46 Ghz, Radeon Mobility 9700 is available with 64 and 128 MB and there are only 17 "wide screen with 1440 x 900.

  • Satellite M30X-129 - power problems

I have problems with the power supply and the laptop does not start, or crashes. I had the same problem in Oct 05 when DC power jack appears to be a little loose causing no charging battery / an irregular DC power supply with the laptop battery/dc power switching and running down the battery.

Finally the wasn't it? t comply with power up to /charging/ & kept close until he just died. Toshiba has replaced the motherboard on this occasion under warranty (10 months). Same problem came back again (replacement mother now of 6 months) off now guaranteed. But complained to Toshiba and am currently waiting for their call back. Any body has experienced similar problems? Thank you

    Hello

Unfortunately I have no explanation what is the problem with your device. The fact is that you have the guarantee that all the new parts. Please contact the technician again and ask them how long is the warranty of the motherboard replaced.

  • Update on the Satellite P30-133 hard drive

    Hello
I own a P133 Satellite with a 80 GB HARD drive and I would like to replace the HARD drive.

    1. How do I "safely" take it out?
    2. how GB support Satellite
    3. likely to be mounted a Toshiba no? 99% of Yes, but sometimes producers are naughty and try to get you to buy what they want and therefore lost a customer!

Can anyone help with these questions?

    Thank you

    Hello

First a question; You really a P133 Satellite?
This laptop is not known to me and I don t I think this series exists.

I saw your other thread and it seems that you have a Satellite P30. Am I wrong?

OK I'll try to give some info on the P30.

    (1) the location of the HARD drive is located at the bottom of the unit. You must turn the computer. Remove the two black screws to release the HARD drive door. Pull the tab to remove the HARD drive unit. Remove the HDD Enclosure HARD drive. Note: after the removal of the portable computer HARD drive you need to remove also the brackets that are piling up on both sides of the HARD drive.

    (2) you can use the 2.5 ", 9.5 mm HDD with capacity 30 GB/40 GB/60 GB/80/100 GB / 120 GB. The HARD drive should support the Bus Master IDE and 100 synchronous DMA Ultra

    (3) as far as I know you can use HDD from different vendors, but hardware specifications must be supported (see point 2 :)))

  • Power to the Satellite C850-1 kN problem

    Dear friends,

I'm Belgian and I received a call a few weeks ago desperate to an English friend (she's a student).
His laptop computer Toshiba Satellite C850-1 kN 15 months old did not illuminate. No sign of life anymoe...

Much to my surprise the standard warranty period is only 1 year in England (in Belgium and in many European countries, it is 2 years).
And of course that she should have taken an extended warranty, I would have told him (and now she realizes that too of course).

So she send it to me...

For the problem itself, I tied each thing on feeding issues (power reset by pressing the powerbutton for a minute, replacing the power brick, etc., etc., I even checked the current arriving on the motherboard, and it's ok...).

What surprises me is that I find so many references to power with Toshibas (and very little real solutions...) problems.

My friend treats his laptop very well, it looks brand new, I find such a pity to throw the laptop (even for ecological reasons).

A portable well-treated should operate for 4-5 years, at least..., and a decent society should not allow to happen, not even out of warranty (at least not after 15 months).

As you know that these laptops are not cheap (especially for a student...)

Can someone give me some advice (on the warranty or any technical suggestion...).

Thank you very much for your support (and for reading this!).

    Kind regards
    William

    Hello

Obviously some serious hardware problem has occurred, and from my point of view of a few any material part could cause this problem.
I guess that the parts as modules of memory, motherboard so that the CPU may be affected, I assume that it is not possible to say what s wrong here without touching the laptop.

My laptop did lights not because one of the slots on the motherboard was faulty.
After that I removed one of the modules, the unit may be turned on.

One of my friends could not use the laptop because of the failure of memory. Two modules are dead at the same time the two parts have been replaced and unit still works so far

As you can see, the material can start to malfunction it is nothing unusual in the world of large computing
So what I will say; I think laptop engineer should check the hardware parts after you can decide whether you want to repair

  • Problem of the satellite A50 with power!

    Hello
My laptop has a contact with tea and I cleaned main Board and all others. And now it does not start when I push the power button / stop (when the battery is charging) light flashing battery and the laptop does not start. When the battery is fully charged when I push the button walk / stop there is nothing that's happened. Any suggestion what I supposed to do?

If any fluid pours in a laptop or any electrical appliance the first thing you need to do is to remove any power source. In this case this includes your laptop battery. If the liquid contains sugar, you can rinse the cold tap water, distilled water is preferable. Then find a place so he can dry and leave. Somewhere with a dehumidifier is ideal but a ventilation compartment will... Leave it for a week to be sure. Then once you are sure that it is not dry replace the battery and the power supply cross-fingers and turn it on.

I saved many keyboards, PCs and mobile phones using this method, but the success is never guaranteed.

If you do not remove the power quickly you run the risk of a short circuit. Maybe it's what has happened here.
In this case you will need an engineer to take a look for you.

With the battery removed the laptop turns on?

Are you abele to use the USB mouse or the touchpad?

If Yes, then you should be able get the system back to point in time at the beginning.

Restart the computer, go to the area of backup and system restore, then select the save point that has been created in the past.

This restores the system and fix the registry.

I think the keyboard should work after this procedure.

  • License with Windows 7 and the Satellite L875 - 11 M problem

    Hello

I recently (about a month) sent my computer to TOSHIBA because of a hardware problem, so I think they changed the PCB from what I remember. My computer is a Satellite L875 - 11M and I am on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Since yesterday, I lost my wallpaper on the desktop (do not know if it is normal or not) and got a popup telling me that my copy of windows 7 is not genuine. I tried to turn it on, but it has not been accepted as valid. I searched a bit on the Internet and found that the license key is linked with the BIOS of the motherboard, which may have been changed a month ago, so it seems to be the source of the problem.

How can I solve it? Asking Microsoft for a new key to license, or Toshiba, or is there a simple procedure? I already tried the 'slmgr /rilc"and"slmgr /rearm"orders with no result.

Recorded on label product key Microsoft belongs to the original version of recovery that you got with your laptop, so it cannot be used for activation.

I can't explain why pre-installed version has expired, but you need to do now is install Win7 with original Toshiba recovery disc. After doing this you have will activate and original OS version that belongs to your laptop.

I just hope that you created recovery disks Toshiba s advice.

  • On the Satellite L650-19W keyboard problems

    Hello

A very strange and annoying problem developed on my laptop about four days ago. First of all, here's my laptop specs:

    Satellite L650 - 19W
    8 GB RAM (DDR3)
    Windows 7 64 bit
    Intel Core i5 CPU

The problem is that some of the keys also trigger others.
For example, whenever I have reached space I get a 'p' first, followed by a space, exactly the same thing happens when I press 'p '.

Similar results occur with the 'h' and ' 6 ', ' 3' and the '+', the 2 and the ' / ', the 'f' and 4', as well as a few others. The passage of the right hand does not work with all keys and BACKSPACE can not be held down, IE only deletes one character at a time.

I tried to restore to a point in front of what is going on started, as well as the stop, remove the battery and holding down the button start for 60 s, the two nothing helps. I have read similar problems, some people have recommended BIOS update.

I downloaded an update of the BIOS for this computer from Toshiba Web site, but I'm wary to run due to a lot of people say you can ruin your ifp computer you don't know what you are doing, is it true?

Any help would be appreciated, because she makes me crazy! It took half an hour to type this message!

    Hello

I think that there is no other solution than to replace the internal keyboard.
I guess its problem of keyboard internal a simple malfunction what can happen to the keyboards of the domestic.

Have you tried external USB keyboard? Try and test how the unit would be.
I guess it will work properly and the question wouldn t occur in external USB keyboard.

Help, please. I have a laptop A100 pro. When I press the power on button the battery flashing orange. And after about 5 seconds, the light goes dead again. No other light is on. What can be the reason for this?

    Hello

You you connected the power adapter the laptop while trying to start the machine?
Make sure that the battery is full don't pay?

Usually the battery led flashes orange due to the low battery power

Maybe you should leave the laptop connected to the power adapter for a long period to ensure that the battery is fully charged.
