When you try to import photos I get an error that says: Preview is not available for this file. Then when I try to download these files, a gray box returns for each photo with the name of the file, and this error message -Preview is not available for this file but no picture. Some additional information. I received these photos of my granddaughter of my son with Dropbox. I checked the files under properties and found that they were listed as "some blocked properties" so I checked the box to 'unlock' and click on apply. The blocked message went away. Then, I took the original photos out of the folder of file they were in. I went back to LR and made sure those grey boxes with the Preview is not available for this file was missing. Then I went to the new files with the status of unlock in a new folder and tried to import into LR... same thing happens again! UGH

Could you please copy the images of Dropbox in a new folder on the computer/pictures folder.
Also, then try again to import images into Lightroom and also please check if you have read and write permissions on the images.

I can't tell if this is the exact version specified in the message (the download is not detailed). But it is the most recent available and it is not possible to choose a more specific version (but I guess that the most recent will do).
The thing is, there is another download of .NET Framework 4.0 (Web Installer): http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992&displaylang=en but it is much smaller and I think to the standalone version to work - this isn't clear, but seems to be the case. Again, there are no details on the specific version for this download. If the above does not work, it is possible, as you may also download and install it as well as they are both required.
I would like to download the premiera (stand-alone Setup program) and see if that solves your problem. I'm a little surprised, because this is the first application I've seen requiring this download (unless other people had already downloaded or just done without posting something on this subject).
