  Hello!

  I have associated my Samsung S3 Android phone with my newly bought T450s. I can easily send files to my phone by doing a right click on the file and choose to send it via bluetooth, but whenever I try to send it to my T450s from a phone I just get information which "cannot send the file" and I don't get any notification pop - up of any kind on my laptop.

  How can I solve this problem? I need to install additional software to receive files?

  Can you please tell us what operating system you have installed on your machine? Win7 64 bit perhaps?

  I guess you know how works the BT. Installing BT stack is only the first step.
  You must be sure module BT is successfully activated. You must establish a connection between your laptop and mobile phone (synchronization). Did you ever?

  Please post some more comments on the situation as a whole.

  But I can't send files of xperia to vaio. I get error message that driver cannot be installed. I've tried all the suggestions of troubleshooting or microsoft site (help, community...), does not. This a compatibility issue? Xperia is not listed as compatible on the compatibility windows7 site, but the fact other devices, such as my old nokia, which works very well. Is it because there is no such driver available? This problem is really annoying and I'm very frustrated.

• My external hard drive will appear in my Computer.But when I try to send files (right click) in the "send to", the drive does not appear.

But that's only if (if it appears) if the player initially does not appear under my Computer.Again, i have no problem to access this drive and its contents once it is plugged into my laptop. It just does not recognize under the column "send to." It allows. That's how I was able to get what is on there now on it first.

  You can try the following steps and check if it helps:

  Method 1:

  a. open a Windows Explorer window.

  > Browse to your folder system hidden below.

  C:\Users\(user-name)\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\SendToB)

  OR

  b. open the Start Menu, and then type shell: sendto in the search box and press ENTER.

  c. Add or remove any drive, folder, or shortcut app like you who uses the option open with to send it to the window below.

  NOTE: for example: Notepad, paint, Photo Gallery, dvd player, any folder, etc. For a reader, right-click on the drive in the computer, then click on create a shortcut placed on the desktop before you move the shortcut here.

  Method 2:

  You can also try to change the registry settings and check if it helps.

  Important: The above mentioned steps show you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs.

• multitrack wav for 1,5 hour files record only 3 seconds long - lost audio

  I used Adobe Audition Mac CS6 version 5.02 build 5 a few days ago to record a conference of lawyers that I get paid to save.  I have been using to record multitrack and segments that have been about 1.5 hours of recording as stereo wav files.  During the second track record after about an hour, while the surveillance on phones and I look at the interface, the track popped out folder.  and stopped.  When I checked the file wav from this record, it is only 3 seconds of time instead of 1.5 hours.  I couldn't find anything useful in the trash or the location of the main disk cache.   A search of my hard drives for files created so far there isn't anything useful either.  I have auto save every 10 minutes turned on and I thought that hearing were the basic crash protection built in.  Is it possible to recover this loss of audio in a temporary file or cache somewhere, while the law firm that hired me will not tear me up like a pack of piranhas to lose audio they wanted to sell to their customers?

  Well, if you have been recording in multitrack view, it doesn't is not much of interest in research in the trash, or any kind of disk, because in multitrack mode, cache files are written directly to disk and no to any form of temporary storage. This also means that you will not find anything in the way of a backup. I'm afraid that if the files are not where you specified whether they are when you started recording, you have almost certainly lost. If you're absolutely sure he was recording for all this time, it might well be that the header of the file was damaged when he stopped, and that it is in fact a larger file that you have been led to think. The only thing that you can try with this scenario is to open the file in a .raw, provide the sampling frequency and type info and see what opens. If you're incredibly lucky, you will get your file back to the point that it stopped, and then you can re-record it. But don't hold your breath...

On the senders end you get no notification that the transfer has failed, or that you get a small 'I' icon in the window of conversations that draw attention to the failure. The same thing in the 'File transfer' window, sometimes the file will be marked as 'sent', or 'fail', in both cases, the receiver sees the transfer as it is 'impossible' or it crashes with a progress bar that changes to 'fail' if interact you with the download arrow or double-click on the file icon.

  Various forums to suggest solutions, that everything I tried:

  • Quit and restart Messages.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Deleting of plist.
  • Make sure UPnP is enabled on the router.
  • Make sure UPnP is not enabled on the router (learned to love these weird problems, everyone has a different idea)!
  • Ensure ports 443 (Messages), 5190 (UDP for Messages), 5297, 5298 (UDP Hello) and 5298 (TCP Hello) are all open.
  • Compress images.
  • Force quit "matches" in the activity monitor.
  • Ensuring that no one is Little Snitch active.
  • Ensuring that there is no firewall on.
  • Ensuring that user names are not too long (there was a suggestion Hello has an internal deadline that could result in names are identical coupe).
  • Make sure that OS X is updated (this persisted for several updates now).

  There is a guy named Ralph Johns (UK) on Apple's Support forums, which has been troubleshooting this kind of problem with iChat/Messages with various posters since at least 2011. Seems to know his stuff, but has not been able to find a solution for everyone. Posters have tried swapping routers, used wireless instead of ethernet (or vice versa) and even two bad guidance computers connected together via a simple switch, so I am not convinced that there is a network problem.

  IMessages Login using port 443 (made the AIM Login today and Yahoo if you have configured the account)

  Swaps the GOAL to use port 5190 (UDP when this file transfers).

  The other three ports lists are listed as being necessary by Hello but use Little Snitch myself I was never able to prove that a similar thing on behalf of the GOAL and Exchange port during the basic move IM chat to those containing photos of cats.

  Little Snitch will block (if you tell) the processes that you cannot associate with Messages as such.

  

  It's pop up you should see if you transfer files with the iMessages account. (Note the server and port).

  Why they have put in place a different process instead of use the same AIM, Jabber and Hello use.  It has a slightly different name.

  I tried to send pictures on PURPOSE to my MacBook Pro that uses iChat 5.0.3

  I have also tried to send using Hello from iMac MacBook Pro and cannot operate.

  However the Hello from the MacBook Pro to the iMac strangely works.

  The version of iChat says that the File Transfer window expected FRO me (in the iMac) to meet start sending in trying to use AIM.

  However, the Chat window in iChat 5.x.x watch separately a message from AIM servers saying that the AIM Proxy did not work and try again and it make no changes to the file transfer window.

  2nd attempt to use iChat 5.x.x Hello also failed.

  It seems to be no reason why it fails.

  Possibly the naming conventions have changed over time, but I don't normally have questions (the MacBook Pro doesn't seem like spaces or apostrophes when I named it wherever the iMac running OS version much later when appointed allows them).

  However as I had them connected should not be the issue.

  Which can be a problem is to name them all Macintosh or the Admin according to the naming process, that you can use and if a Diskimage is used to make them all have the same applications and settings.

  UPnP occurred as iChat 3 and 4 used so several ports you couldn't open them all in Port Forwarding set ups.

  Video and Audio conversations only used 22 ports

  Repair permissions appeared in disk utility in El Capitan and was always decried as useful in many settings, while others swore by it.

  Finally, you might want to watch and read and write permissions.

  It has become much more complicated with some applications such as Messages can be sandbox which adds several layers of reading and writing of files you need also to have access to write even the .plists

  I'd take a peek at this thread and useful (Orange) marked post-test and resolved green one if necessary.

  I don't know if this is the right forum, but I 'he's beginning here and someone can tell me if another court is more appropriate.

  Background:  I have a laptop company I use to work from home.   I don't have administrative privileges on the laptop, so I can't install the center of HP solutions on it (I don't think).   I have my C5180 directly plugged into the laptop, and I can print correctly.

  Problem:  Because I have no HP Solution Center on my laptop, to launch a scan, I have to start it from the device itself.  But only the display options are: Scan and reprint and scan to memory card

  What I've tried so far:

  • I have connected the device to my PC and went to scan for... Installation program.
  • I added 'send file' to the Destinations of front panel and 'send file' now appear on the Panel.
  • I turned on the connection to my laptop and tried to scan with this destination.
    • Error message: No network connection, refer to the documentation of network
  • I cancelled and now the front panel Destination no longer display 'send file' option, even when I plug it in my PC.

  My Questions:

  1. If it is directly connected to my laptop, why it cannot scan a file?
  2. Why won't the front panel additional Destinations?
  3. How can I make this work so that I can scan to a file on my laptop, without having to install the HP Solution Center (which I believe requires administrator privileges)

  Destination analysis lists come from the computer, it is connected in real time. None of the destinations is stored on the printer. and the solution Center sends the scan destination list to the printer. So it switching from the PC to the laptop will not give you these options.

  To scan, however, go to control panel and open Scanners and cameras. This should generally have a scanner for your printer icon. If you double-click it, it will open a wizard, that helps, you can scan your PC.

  Go back for clarification.

  This is the worst absolute way to embed fonts for PostScript through deletes dynamic transparency, color management, bookmarks, hyperlinks, etc. Yucck!  You are in many ways to ruin the files, do not clean them.

  Acrobat Preflight has a correction for embedding fonts. Takes only a few seconds per file PDF. And if you have a bunch of these files, you can create an action to do this.
