Only Windows Installer updates

Have a laptop pc Dell 1545 running Windows 7. He was not able to install updates that are important & almost all the recommended for a few months. Suggestions re: a solution?

In addition, could not get the 10 Microsoft Windows download icon. Would also appreciate advice on that.

Thank you, Steve

Thank you very much. Tried troubleshooting a few times before I sent appeals for help. It did not work. That doesn't seem to work, at least for these days is updated OS to Windows 10. Updates have been downloaded & installed a few times already. However, our Dell printer has stopped working - until I downloaded the drivers for Windows 8, after the customer support page of Dell on how to do it. Printer seems to work now. Certainly will call for help if it stops! Thanks again, Steve

  • Why force Windows Installer updates without my consent?

    * Bought a new computer, the other day. [Windows Home 7]
    * Set Windows Update to "Download updates but let me choose whether to install them".
    * When I turned my computer off, Windows began installing more than 50 updates automatically without my consent.
I never had a message about the update ready to be installed. So clearly, I never said Windows to install updates.

Why Windows force install Windows updates without my consent to the judgment?

I've only visited a Web site, and it's a website that I trust. Would he still could be a Virus?

If it's a Virus, restoring my system to factory Conditions removes the Virus? [By using the option available on my computer. Do not use a Windows CD. ]

[1].. .a Norton free trial came with the computer (as it does with almost all computers), however, I did not accept the terms. Or fact, I install the program... Since I posted this question, I came back the computer back to factory settings...

[2] FireFox. I use Internet Explorer to download Firefox. I disable access to IE that FireFox is installed

[3] I use CCleaner to scan the registry from time to time. It is not something that happens too often.

Fact: Applications, (Norton and McAfee) are notorious for not to uninstall (or upgraded) themselves.

A1. After you"returned the computer configuration", do you have a uninstall Norton free trialware AND THEN b download/run the Norton removal tool [1] & (c) reboot before installing the suite AVG (or any other antivirus application) AND BEFORE the installation of any Windows updates AND BEFORE you changed your setting again?

A2. Nevertheless, Internet Explorer is part & parcel of your operating system. IE9 works correctly when you choose to use it (after re-enabling access to even)?

A3. Comment: Your misguided use of registry cleaners may be (or may have been) plays a role here. TIP: If you ever think that your registry database must be cleaned, repaired, boosted, point, healed, twisted, fixed, magnified, "swept" or optimized (it isn't), read http://blogs.technet.com/markrussinovich/archive/2005/10/02/registry-junk-a-windows-fact-of-life.aspx and draw your own conclusions.

  • Procedure to let Windows Installer update updates automatically, but leaving out a specific update.

    Hello

    I have Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x 64.

My Windows Update settings were always Install updates automatically (recommended)

Later, I decided to define as updates but let me choose whether to install them. It's because I uninstalled the KB971033 update since my Windows 7 is not genuine.

Anyway, now I'm wondering how to let Windows Update to install updates but leaving out the installation of the update KB971033. How do I do that?

    See you soon,.

    Francis UK

I guess it's this one detail that make my non-genuine Windows. Is that correct?

A copy of Lenovo OEM of Windows 7 has been installed on a PC laptop HP Presario CQ61. The Microsoft license only allows a copy of Lenovo OEM Windows to install on a Lenovo computer. Your installation fails this test simple and very basic. You must purchase a new authentic copy of Windows or to return to the original HP OEM of window which has been installed on the computer when it is new. You may still be able to buy HP's HP recovery discs.

  • Windows Installer update in the user Session

I use a WSUS 3.0 Sp2 server and the WUA_SearchDownloadInstall.vbs tscript for install updates on Server 2003 X 64 SP2. Search and download works fine logged on as a user, but the installation fails unless I'm actuall 'connected' as a member of the Administrators group. I tried things like "RunAS" and "PSexec" by using the credentials of the directors, but it still does not install it.

An excerpt from WindowsUpdate.log. It shows that istrying Windows Update to do something under my ID "HST25772\LOCALUSER" (my user), even if I started the script with PSExec (1.98) and used my administrator credentials. I'm relatively certain that this will cause the failure. If I do a full logon with the same ID Admin, installation works very well. Is there a way to perform the installation of WU part in session 'user' but use PSExec with the Admin ID? All thoughts of work around this would be appreciated.

  • Windows Installer update package possible flaw of sequence

Windows Update improves system performance and security by replacing system files with new versions of them, which may not contain vulnerabilities that seniors did. However, I noticed the update numbers are essentially random during installation, so the old updates can be installed after the most recent. If these updates fixes a problem to update the same file, it could possibly lead to the situation where such sequence leaves me with the old version of the file than the last? I understand that automatic updates or regular updates checks these situations should not occur, but Windows 7 is installed on an old drive (without SP 1) installs to 400 updates after installation, so it might be vulnerable.

  • After uninstalling printer Windows Installer and Microsoft Office error "this update package not could be opened"

Original title: Windows Installer and Microsoft Office problems after you have uninstalled the printer

I tried to install more than one printer, a HP Photosmart C4280 by downloading the drivers and updates on the HP site. I uninstalled the printer after it failed to scan a document and I had no more use for it. Then the trouble started. When I tried to open some programs (iTunes, Skype, etc.) for the first time after the uninstall of the printer, a window "Windows Installer" popped up. After you have configured Windows Installer, the program would open normally. However, when I try to open any Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), Windows Installer appears, but it turns into a window that reads:
"This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer update package. »

Microsoft Office programs are open at all, and I desperately need my programs of Microsoft Office to work even faster. I would appreciate it if Windows Installer will stop trying to configure when I open a program also. Can someone help me please?

  • Boot Camp supports only Windows 7 or later installation on that platform. Please use a file ISO of Windows 7 or later installation.

    Hello

I tried to fix this for hours, I hope someone can help me.

I downloaded the ISO "Win10_1607_English_x64.iso" (4.29 GB) file and with him came a "info.plist" (2 KB), so they are both on my 64 GB USB Drive (format: MS-DOS (FAT32)) called 'WINSTALL '.

I have the ISO on the USB key, and it is selected as the ISO image in Boot Camp. I also have the USB the disk of destination selected, and yet I get this error:

Your bootable USB key could not be created

Boot Camp supports only Windows 7 or later installation on that platform. Please use a file ISO of Windows 7 or later installation.

I'm currently under OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.6 on my iMac (21.5 inch, end 2012) that is compatible with Windows 10.

If anyone can help me I honestly love so much, I tried contacting Apple Support staff by phone, they said that they can't do anything, I tried to contact their Live Chat, but none of this has helped to solve the problem, and I tried to look online, but can't find too much.

Thanks in advance for any answer!

What OSX Version do you have? This site gives the requirements of Bootcamp: minimum system requirements to install Windows on your Mac with Boot Camp - Apple Support. And you did an upgrade? Could it be that the upgrade will not correctly for the OS?

Looking at the 10 Windows version you downloaded, is the update of birthday, which was released less than a month ago. It could be that Apple is not reconisgin the Windows version when reading the disk, because it is too recent. I don't know if you have access to the download of the previous generation and do a Windows update?
