  The files were created in 2000, and they must be retrieved to be put on a server.
  The files are on the CD. I tried to save them to the office and opening here and we have always received insufficient data for an Image

  Yes, you have found the correct exe. You set when you created the provision. By default, the Program Files folder is the name of your help, but you can change it, as described on my site.

  Living in the United Kingdom and have BT (British Telecom) as my ISP, it is not at all unusual for my broadband to be disconnected to 75% of the time.

  Earlier today my broadband was again downwards and therefore when I clicked on the Dreamweaver Help system, no help was available.

  The ability to use the offline Help files has not helped much either.

  I use CS5.5 and I can see the offline help that was available in all the other versions (up to CS4) does not exist.

  Click on help/edit/preferences and it seems that you must download the files yourself, so I had to do.

  First that I logged in - which worked.

  On the general tab, make sure "Display Local Help content only" is not selected.

  In the Preferences menu, click Download Preferences and check the boxes next to the items you want to download.

  Then, go to the Updater settings and click 'Manually update my content stored locally using' t, then click on manage now.

  No downloads are available as shown above.

  Back to the Help menu - a message appears - to access or download help, connect to Internet or deselect the "Display Help content Local only" option in preferences.

  I am connected to the Internet and view Local Help is not checked. Nothing! Earlier, I arrived at this point and closed and restarted Dreamweaver with exactly the same result.

  What is the point of a help offline system that is not available for download.

  I did a search on Google and found a post that is supposed to affect people in Croatia or China or some other land away and was able to download a pdf help file. However, it is not good enough. I don't have to load a pdf file when it is supposed to be a support system built into the product offline. Or at least there should be way to aq of binder in the system.

  A search of the line on the help files revealed nothing help on offline Help files.

  Persistence is paying off. Seems that it is not possible to implement offline files in a program now, but it is possible to program from Adobe.

  Point 9 is optional I think - but I'll see. Currenlty I help offline in most programs and he has to say when there is an update available.

  Sara, problem solved.  FYI-I went to Google tool bar/internet reception/security/choose medium security / clicked on allow reliable messaging users / restarted the computer and success!  Put finely pfd to download and print.  I tried this before but did restart.   Please provide this information to all users of Adobe Reader XI.   I need to have a HelpFile compiled by Monday morning, and I have many links to PDFs that is set to open in a new window. My original file format was WebHelp, but someone needs to this help file on a CD to take company - Ouch! So I can't choose any PDFs (unacceptable) or let them field questions on the yellow bar in IE whereby the content is * dangerous *!

  When I try to open a PDF file I have the pop-up dialogue "you have chosen to open *.pdf Firefox do with this file? And display in Firefox is not one of the options. I am sure that what is happening is that there is no dialogue, and the PDF has just opened in the integrated Viewer pdf.js. If something is wrong with my profile I guess.

  I think the problem I had was that some of the PDF files is served by Web sites with a "header" (I don't really know what that means) called "Content-Disposition: attachment", and when this happens, Firefox refuses to load them into the integrated PDF Viewer. (I don't know why Web sites this.)

  It is very helpful, especially because Firefox gives no indication as to what is happening (why the user preference for a PDF file is not respected). I just thought that the PDF Viewer was broken and spent hours trying to fix it.

  You have configured Firefox to use the Adobe Acrobat plugin? It seems that he may be missing or disabled, because it does not appear in your "more details of the system" (next to your message). You can see the page modules. Either:
