Open Local HTML file in the browser to the app?

Hello

We have a question, we want to make a link to a local HTML file form in a DPS article, it takes the HTML file to open in the browser in application; We cannot use an overlay of web content for this feature. We are able to do this easily with the content of a source online by creating a link to go to the URL of the Web site in the URL section.

Is it possible HTML form resources folder and can it be tested in adobe content viewer?

Or better yet can we easily link to a local folder using the go to URL with a local file path? If so what would it be?

Thank you

Dream awake

Yes, you can open an HTML file in a browser in app by adding the HTML file to the HTMLResources.zip. Create a button with an action to go to the URL that looks like this:

HTMLResources/HTML_Local/index.html

Make sure that you create your HTMLResources.zip file correctly and transfer it into the folder. You can test it in Adobe Content Viewer on iPad or on the desktop so that get you a glimpse of the folio (not article or page layout).

Basically, you use the same technique to post a link to the HTML file that you use to post a link to the PDF files. For more details, see the application of DPS tips > Advanced overlays > linking to PDF files.

  • Opening of the local shared .html file in the browser?

My WebWorks application creates and saves the test.html file in the shared folder to 'blackberry.io.dir.appDirs.shared.documents.path' successfully. If I try to open this file in the browser of PB, like this

    var filePath = blackberry.io.dir.appDirs.shared.documents.path + "/ test.html ';

    var args = new blackberry.invoke.BrowserArguments (filePath);
    BlackBerry.Invoke.Invoke (blackberry.invoke.APP_BROWSER, args);

can I get an exception with the message: 'undefined '; I guess that the args object is not created. The browser is not started.

However, if I run the browser PB manually, navigate to the file test.html in the 'file:///accounts/1000/shared/' folder, I can open it.

    What Miss me? Thank you.

More surprises every day... Apparently, the browser of PB does not file:/// protocol support; He expects a URL that begins with http:// or https://. But I managed to write my own code to open the .html file in the browser of PB. However, it's disappointing to do this kind of "gymnastics" to activate the basic features.

  • navigator_open_file or another method for opening the local html file

    Hello

Open file .html resourses app that I tried to use the navigator_open_file function.

The problem is that the browser cannot open it because of the access denied error.

So my question is how can I do this (open the location of application resources html file) in the other direction, or how to avoid the access denied error (I don't want to copy this file to another SD card or somwhere).

Can be in NDK also available something like webview control that can be used inside the application (this can solve the problem with access denied so )

    Many thanks in advance,

    Hi vitali,.

I'll you link to a previous post on the same topic. Read it all, and you will understand what your options are, and what are the limits.

    http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/T5/native-development/using-Navigator-invoke-to-view-local-file-...

This thread should answer many of your questions. That being said, there is apparently a WebView control in stunts that could accomplish what you're looking for. However, I have never used, so I can't provide a lot of help. In addition, it requires BB10, which means it is for device Dev Alpha. If you develop for the PlayBook, you do not have a WebView available, and you will have to use methods that I mentioned in the link above.

    Hope that helps.

  • Many fonts render when Firefox opens the local html file

I use a 3 rd-party program called Fontlist. He reads all the fonts in the Windows fonts folder and then uses a line of the user selected text to generate a html file on the hard drive that shows the line of the text displayed in each font. Because it is a program of the 3rd part, I have no control over it is programming html.

When the generated html file is browsed with Internet Explorer, all fonts display correctly. When browsing with Firefox, maybe half or more fonts have a police-looking ordinary backup who suite. I was not able to discern any trend as to what type of font is displayed correctly or does not work.

In the research online, the problem, I saw a hint that assigning false to security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy could solve the problem. I tried, and it had no effect. Also, in the advanced option to fonts and colors, I checked the box to let web pages to choose their own fonts.

Would there be other parameters that would allow Firefox make virtually any standard font industry installed on the system? This can affect all 3 rd-party sources, not only Fontlist html files.

The css generated by Fontlist puts no quotes around the family names of fonts, including those with a numeric parameter. This explains the part of chess, but not all.

It is obvious that the html and css accepted by Internet Explorer is much more forgiving than FF.

The Fontlist developer will have to address this issue.

  • Disable the opening of PDF files in the browser.

    Hi guys,.

I'm deploying DC to my environment, but only one requirement is disable the opening of PDF files in I.e.

The only work to date is to * manually * disable the Adobe PDF Reader add-on in IE11.

    I tried:

    1. GPO to disable Adobe PDF Reader. The add-on comes as disabled, but a PDF file will always open in IE.

    2. the HKCU entry for bBrowserIntegration = 0. It makes no difference.

The second step is the only one I've ever used for reader XI and it satisfied my needs. Someone at - it run in this yet? It's really weird that manually disabling the addon works (all PDFs pop out of drive) but if I re - enable and disable then via GPO, the opening of PDF files in the browser.

    Hi christopherh31260325,

Please provide detailed information about your question.

Could you please try to uninstall and reinstall MS Reader from the link mentioned below:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC install for all versions

Then, try to disable the opening of PDF files in the browser after you follow the instructions as indicated in the link of doc KB:

Reference: Acrobat Help. Display PDF in browser. DC to Acrobat, Acrobat Reader DC

Let me know if it helps.

    Kind regards

  • How to pass parameters in local html files using InDesign?

How to pass parameters in local html files using InDesign, or how to pass info environment, such as the image, the html code is sitting on top in local html files in InDesign?  I try to use the code html-javascript, then simply pass parms to behave differently depending on where the code is placed in the folios of InDesign.  I don't know how to do it.  If I could read in some environment of the folio InDesign info by using html or javascript, which might work as well.  Please advise, thank you!

In indesign, you can draw a box and connect the html code to display in this box, if you do it this way you don't let the application in browser.  In the control panel overlays folio, its web called overlays.

I suggest you download Bringhursts ipad Bob application called DPS tips, it will give you a quick overview of all different overlays and basic opportunities.

  • Firefox can't open. HTML files

I use Firefox 14.0.1. I can't open any sort of. File HTML (written in Notepad) in Firefox when in other browsers, I can open these normally. When I try to open my HTML file to test in Firefox, they could not be opened rather than I get some not sorted as Chinas scripts or something like that (I don't know clearly what kind of language)

A few questions about your HTML file.

First of all, using unusual fonts? "Outline" or "vector" fonts usually give more reliable results in browsers. It is Arial, Times New Roman, and Courier New.

Second, you get different results if you use file > save as (in Notepad) and change the ANSI or UTF-8 encoding? I think that those who are the most commonly used for web pages. The drop-down list coding is just to the left of the button Save.
