open pdf attachments in Windows Media Center

Sometimes I get e-mails with attachments in pdf. When I download these attachments, the Windows Media Center window opens but I don't know how to open the pdf file that has been sent.

jerryedgar,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers forum.

To open a pdf file, you must have the Adobe Acrobat reader software installed on your computer.  This is a free program that can be downloaded from Adobe here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ remember you select the operating system and the version that you have installed on your computer.

Once you have Adobe Acrobat reader is installed, all you have to do is double click on the file name to open it.

Let us know if we can provide assistance.
Thank you

  • How to remove windows media center in the virus

When I'm almost about to remove Center windows media, when I click on turn windows features, windows media center automatically pop. also, when I try to open any other program, Windows media center pop again. How can I remove this without it popping up when I click on something.

Back up important data first, if you can. Then backup the registry. These two precautions.

Then, if this has occurred there is little time, you can use System Restore to a point just before the association of the WMC has occurred.

If this is not the case, see http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/19449-default-file-type-associations-restore.html and use file associations that are false. You probably need the patches .exe and .com (depending on what actually open WMC. For example, if all programs open WMC)

  • After clean install of Windows 7, Netflix and Internet TV plugin does not work on Windows Media Center.

Original title: problem with Windows 7 Media center

Is there anyway that I can replace the whole C:\Windows\ehome? There is a permissions issue, and I can't find a way to change the permissions...

The only reason I want to do is I did a clean install of windows 7 and the plugin TV Pluzz.fr and the internet do not work on this computer and it seems to be no work around. But I have a PC where WMC works fine and I can replace the entire record of WMC and it should work like the other PC (I think).

I could do if I ran linux or something, but I'm looking for something simple or a fix to this problem with WMC.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

It is too bad to know the steps in my previous post did not help to solve the problem.

I would like to inform you that starting from September 20, 2012, the experience of Internet TV is no longer available. You can consult the following Microsoft article that has the same information:

Cannot open Internet TV in Windows Media Center

For problems with Netflix, I suggest you follow the steps in the Microsoft article and check following:

  • "Other libraries" adding Windows Media in Windows Media Center player.

So, I am absolutely delighted by the distance streaming media in Windows Media Player. I run a guitar shop, and it was really nice to have all of my music at home, on my desk, can be played in the store. As opposed to everything I hold on my laptop.

But the thing is that I run Windows Media Center on the TV, and all of my media that are on my laptop looks fantastic up there, covers of albums and video library and everything. But the thing is that I can not add the media that I'm streaming from remote media streaming option in Windows Media Center.

I can play media in Windows Media Player, and it will appear in Windows Media Center, but without album art. And I can not play videos in Windows Media Center unless I open them manually with Windows Media Center.

So basically, I ask if it is possible to add media in my "other libraries" using option of streaming WMP remote in the library in Windows Media Center?

Thank you much for the help!

    -Tazzlyn

If I understand what you're asking, you want to be able to use Internet in WMP
streaming between two places, but with the Media Center interface? You can not
    do this.

If you are using two computers on the same HOME, inside the media network
Center interface, you can add folders to the library from another computer.

  • When you try to open a PDF file, Windows Media Center opens

My aunt has Windows Vista on her computer and whenever she tries to open a pdf file that opens Windows Media Center. Is there a way to get Windows Vista to point to Acrobat Reader to open the file, or should it go directly to the RA? Thanks for any help you can give on this subject.

    PS; I don't know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit.
    * original title - PDF problem on windows Vista *.

Acrobat Reader or Adobe Reader? Personally, I wouldn't use Adobe at all, but try this. Skip #1 if it is already on the HARD drive.

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5. Select: PDF reader program.
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

Right-click any PDF file, choose "Open with", then "Choose default" and choose the program Adobe instead.  It will now always use Adobe when you click it.

Windows Media Center opens all documents such as PDFs unless you use the open with option.  I just tried to print a page from a software and it goes to the WMC and I can't find the document in the library to open it in pdf or Word format.  What can I do?

    Hello

You did changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1:

Important: this section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information on how to to back up and restore the registry, see:

  • When I try to open a PDF file with adobe Acrobat reader Windows Media Center automatically appears.

When I try to open a PDF file with adobe Acrobat reader, windows media center automatically opens. How to prevent this? I just want to open the PDF file with Acrobat reader.

The solution I think. If you right-click on one of the files and select open the file locations it now combined the file with adobe reader.

Yes - you simply need to change the associated file (and path) back to Adobe Reader.  (If that's your choice PDF reader.)

    If you did this:

Press the Windows Logo and R key at the same time to bring up the dialog box RUN.
Once you have the dialog box up, type in the following command and press OK...

    cmd /k ftype AcroExch.Document

That he return with? Should be something like:

    AcroExch.Document = "C:\Program files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" '%1'

    Hello Janet,.

This problem may occur because of default program settings.

Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

When you run an .exe on a Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 computer file, the file can start another program

Change the programs that Windows uses by default

Change default programs using Set Program Access and computer defaults

You mean PDF not PDL. (I presume).
Save a PDF to your HARD drive, make a click right, choose 'Open with', choose "choose default program", choose Acrobat, and then at the bottom of the dialog box, click "always use the selected program to open...". "and then click OK.

  • Dccuments PDF sent by email are switched to docs in Windows Media Center by clicking on send

This just started yesterday.  An ordinary red PDF attachment that I add to my email seems normal and ready to send email in Windows Live Mail.  When I click on send, something happens that changes the attachment PDF of an attachment of Windows Media Center.  When I check the sent items I find the attachment is now a green oval on a white page with color logo four windows in the middle.  When I click on this attachment, opens a window of Windows Media Center in dark blue.  Here, I see a list of items to click on, such as DVD, images, videos, films and TV.  My PDF attachment is over.

Because I can't see my PDF document, I expect that the recipient of my email also does not receive it.

No idea why this is happening?  My computer has been hacked?  What is the result of a malicious virus?

I did a scan of my computer and have found no threat or unusual events.

    David
