  Is it possible to use QuickVPN with the RV042 without leaving ports 80 and 443 open to Shields UP great! scans?  As a solution, I'm pass these ports to a non-existent IP address and forcing QuickVPN to use 60443 port.  Yes, 60443 watch also opened too if I scan it, but at least it is not in the ports first 1056.

  As shields up is a very good tool to run inside your network to get an idea on what ports are open. It is best to run the scan of a computer that is not behind your network. I use nmap http://nmap.org/ and scan my network from the outside to get a better idea on which ports will show open. Since Shields up is running on your computer, it will display the results based on your computers as firewall. Yes Qvpn requires 443 or 60443 to be tuned by the router to establish a connection.

• How do the 5 server not listening on ports 80 and 443

  I want to configure an Apache Server on a Linux virtual machine (using the last VirtualBox) on my Mac running El Capitan 10.11.3.

  5.0.15 server is already running on the Mac (and I want to keep it, with the exception of web services). I have disabled the sharing in the web server user interface, but it was not enough, Apache listening ports 80 and 443, prohibiting VirtualBox to listen to them and transmits them to the Linux virtual machine.

  So I put comment out these lines in /Library/Server/Web/Config/Proxy/apache_serviceproxy.conf:

  #listen 80

  #listen 443

  8008 #listen

  #listen 8800

  8443 #listen

  8843 #listen

  After a restart, Apache seems not to listen to ports 80 and 443 more. However, VirtualBox does not become the listener. I tried this command in the Mac terminal:

  -i sudo lsof: 80

  and nothing has been returned, suggesting that something in OS X still prevents VirtualBox to listen to ports 80 and 443. If I try to convey some random host port of Mac to port 80 in the virtual machine, then I can my virtualized server access from Safari on the Mac host via the custom port said. But I would use the standard port 80.

  Instead of commenting, assign a specific IP for the server listen instead of * (which means that all the IP addresses). This is only to the server on port 80 and 443 in this config file. I sometimes give an additional IP address to the Ether. Your Linux Machine can connect to the second IP address or the first initial assigned to your server depending on your configuration.

  Server is very aggressive in it's use ports, he leaves so all services to operate, even if you have the use of ports to other IP addresses.

  Which firewall do you use?  If the built-in Windows Firewall, open the Security Center in Control Panel and select the Windows Firewall applet.  Select the Exceptions tab, and then click Add Port.  Specify your port.  Use the button change the scope to restrict the port to the correct network or IP addresses is not wide open to the Internet (unless that's what you need). • WRT320N - loss of internet connection after redirect port 80 and 443

  I have a problem with my new WRT320N. When I activate the port forwarding on my local server (ports 80 and 443), after a while I completely lose internet connection on all my computers connected to the router (wifi and lan computers). The router itself can ping and trace any Internet site through diagnostics to Web administration. When I turn off and click on save changes button, my internet connection works immediately again. I have the latest firmware installed and I tried to reset the router several times and set it manually since the beginning.

  My previously detained WRP400 has been configured to redirect these exactly the same ports and everything worked perfectly. Could someone advise me where could be a mistake? Thank you.

  I solved it. There was a problem with the combination of the service 'DHCP Reservation"of the router and client DHCP of Ubuntu. I disabled "Booking DHCP" and set the IP settings manually in the Ubuntu computer and now it works perfectly

  my router from r7000 nighthawk is currently running firmware v1.0.6.28_1.1.83 and I'm comcerned with security of my network from ports 21 (ftp) and 443 (https) are both always open to exploits. These results, to which I refer are scan utility shield of gibson research online.

  I closed port forwarding in the router nothing works management. and it's only the first ports scanned 1056.

  Unit rebooted and wah - lah... port 21 (FTP) is closed to shields up port scanner.

  I have problems trying to change ports by default so that I can spend my server in VM.

  Welcome to the community,

  just a quick question. Why do you have ant / need to change ports on ESX host? The ESX host and the virtual machine to each use their own IP address, so there should not be any conflict of port with a virtualized Exchange Server.

  Thank you for writing to Microsoft answers Community Forums.

  This port is a somewhat less popular to port 80 to offer alternative to web services. (The most popular alternative port is 8080). Like the 8080, its use in a URL requires explicit "default port override" requires a web browser to connect to port 8080 instead of port 80 by default http.

  Its current use and its importance today is due to contiguity to the World Wide Web port80 is super-popular "http". Sometimes a webserver "off the beaten path' will be established to not listen to port 80, but other related port 81, 82, 8080 or 8090. (Associates of proximity or appearance). If port 81 is remarkable today because it is a neighbouring port 80 and is sometimes used as a complement or alternative, in the same way.

  However, as we explained in our page for port 80, port 80 is the port of 'default' for the http web Protocol. How, then, if you want to use a different 'port' 81 or 8090, substitute us this value by default to specify port we want?

  Since you give exceptions to these ports in the windows firewall or any other firewall of the 3 part, they're not monitored which means that they are susceptible to hackers. I would say activating only not the ports unless it is very important. If you enable them to, of course, you do not keep the important information on this computer.

  This device connects directly to your router, so these directions mean probably you need to open these ports in your router firewall.  To help you on this subject, you will have to identify the make and model of your router.  Please do not guess; Look at the label on the device - and include any number of version mentioned on the label.

  It is also important to provide a link to the source of these directions, whereas user manualdirections to put in place the AT & T 3 G Microcell includes any discussion at all on "open ports".

  Y at - it an official doc for this type of info or if some can validate the following:

  (1) must have ports 80 (RTMP), 443 (RTMPS) and 1935 (RTMFP - tcp + udp); However, once the application connects on port 1935 he will be redirected to any port between 19350-65535.

  Sorry, I thought I responded to this the other day. Not sure what will happen to my post.

  In any case, it is a list of the ports used by FMS in LCC:

  -tcp 443 for rtmps (rtmp over SSL)

  -udp 1935 for rtmfp

  -udp 19350 19400 (I need to check the upper limit): FMS listening on udp 1935 for the incoming connection, and then redirects the request to one of those (not sure of the details for doing this, but we have to configure our firewall to have these incoming ports open).

  So in order to properly connect to ACC via RTMFP you must allow UDP traffic and outbound connections in 1935 and 19350-around the top.

  You also want to tcp open 443 (which you should already have) to access the services web and downgrade to rtmps for recording and/or if a customer so requires.

  Let us know if this information is sufficient or if you need more details. Because we rely on FMS, the best place to search for documents would be for FMS 4.x reference documentation. Here is a link that explains the configuration for the RTFMP support server-side. The customer should have the same set of ports (outgoing destination):

  Note that ports above 1023 including 10000 could be anything and should generally not be worried.  It seems that 10000 is for example used for VoIP call.  So, being identified as Webmin is probably a false decision simply because who uses also 10000.
