  It works beautifully. For each file my application download and store in the file system, a menu of ACTION item appears, that I can use for example to send the file to someone else.

  Now, I tried to implement the same for action OPEN to open a file in a different application. This does not at all. Here is my code:

  I also tried to use the 'data' instead of 'uri' and passing in a QByteArray that contains the bytes of the file. This does not work either.

  Curiously, if I leave aside the 'data' and 'uri', it works. A menu open item is displayed, which lists the applications that can open the specified MIME type. But of course this menu opens only the apps, it does not pass the uri of a file or data file.

  Is this a limitation of devices Dev Alpha? Or y at - it another way to open files that are stored locally in other applications?

  Yes, you're right. This is the traditional DAQ VI.

  Install traditional DAQ 7.4.4 (WXP or W2000) and check that you activate LabVIEW support when configuring the installation program.

  PS: The LabVIEW 8.5 and traditional DAQ are not supported under W7. See here (OS<-->LV) and here (DAQ<-->LV).

  It seems that the file you are trying to open is a shortcut file and the original file is deleted or moved to another location. When you open the shortcut file, it locates the file to the path where it is saved. If the file is moved or deleted, then you will not be able to open the file using the shortcut. Use the Fix - it provided in the below provided link and check if this helps solve your problem:

  I am running Windows XP that is updated to the latest version (which I think could be Service Pack 3, but not positive.) Mozilla Firefox is version 5.0. I tend to use Google as my search engine, so most of the stuff I download comes through sites found through Google, which is also updated.

  At some point in the past (there are maybe a few versions) when I want to download a file from the Internet, the "downloads" window opens and in the window would display the name of the file I got was download or came from download. I think I used to be able to then click on the file name and opens the file (or the Setup file if necessary to launch the new program). I am currently using Firefox 5.0 (screen "On Firefox" said that it is up to date) and when I download a file or document, the "Downloads" window appears on the screen as it has always in the past, but it remains empty, that is, nothing is displayed in the download area. I don't remember to make configuration changes, etc., that may have caused the window to remain a Virgin, but I could be wrong.   In the Firefox Options / confidentiality be sure 'Remember download history"is checked. To see all the options on this Panel, "Firefox will be" must be set to "use the custom settings for history".

  I am a member of the Administrators group on my computer.  I have a folder full of files and other folders that I denied access for administrator users.  Not sure when it appeared that I had gone for the holidays, but now I am unable to open the files located in this folder.  I can delete, move, and rename at will, but can not open.  I tried all the resets of permissions I can think as well as read all knowledge base articles I can find but still not get these files to open.

  In fact, it starts to make a lot of sense today.  The files that you have problems with have been encrypted with EFS.  EFS is closely related to the NTFS file system.  As long as you move files encrypted in the same Volume, it is not a problem, because a move is an operation of directory and the directories themselves are not encrypted (only the files that are there).  Whenever you move an encrypted volume to another file, the file must be decrypted, transferred to the other volume, then re-encrypted to destination.  Thus, the destination volume must be a NTFS file system to keep encrypted files.  If the destination is not a NTFS volume, then the copy would result in a file that is not encrypted at the destination and you will be prompted as to whether or not to allow the operation.  In all cases, a copy of volume-volume requires decryption of the file and any operation that requires a decryption error of access for you - more your inability to open a file normally indicates that you no longer control the certificate to decrypt the file.

  Backups are another matter.  If you are using Microsoft Backup utility (NTbackup), so he recognizes the encrypted file attribute and it backs up as - is without decoding.  Other 3rd third-party backup programs may not recognize the encrypted files and simply read and write to the backup media.  When this happens, the files are automatically decrypted to read (assuming the user certificates requires archiving) and writings of backup to a file unencrypted.  This would explain why you can retrieve an archive and it is not encrypted.  DVD and optical bands do not use NTFS, so a decryption of the original file is required to save in these environments.

  The private part of your (needed for decryption of files) EFS encryption certificate itself is stored encrypted on your computer.  To decrypt, Windows uses your SecureID, password, and other things of which I'm unaware.  If your password is not reset in the normal way (i.e. by entering your current password and your new password) such as an administrator, then your certificate is not re-encrypted to your new password and your access lose him and with him, access to your EFS files.  Other forms of corruption can cause you to lose your certificate, but it seems that at some point you have lost access to your certificate and therefore cannot access files that have been encrypted under this certificate.

  New files that you write in a directory that has been activated with EFS will notice that you have a valid certificate and then automatically generate a new certificate that will be used to encrypt files from right now.  That's why the new files that you add to this directory appear to work well.  The only real mystery what I can't explain is the reason why a system restore to a time where it wasn't a problem does not allow you to restore access.

  Personally, I'm not fan of the EFS because of problems like this.  I prefer the freewareTruecrypt which is just as safe, but I myself manage keys (in the form of password) instead of Windows.  Also, it hides the names of files and can be used safely on a connection in network and backup from windows volume is encrypted little matter how they are done.  I have not lost all data encrypted in more than a decade.

  2. don't you make changes to the computer before this problem?

  You can try to rename the catroot2 folder and check if it helps.

  Step 1:

  a. Click Start and in run type C:\windows\system32 and click ok

  b. find the Catroot2 folder. Right-click on Catroot2 and rename it to Catroot2.old

  If you are not able to do the normal mode, try to start in safe mode and rename

• Shortcuts to programs, EXE files does not open (you will be asked which program I want to use to open the file)

  My system has developed a strange (and annoying) issue that no longer allows me to double click on the shortcuts of programs or EXE files.  When I do, I give myself a menu asks me what program I want to use to open the file, as if I was trying to open a file with an extension that is not associated with.

  The only way to get all the programs to run more is to right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Administrator".

  Right click on the shortcut also reveals a new 'momentum' (Yes, spelled with one S tiny) option in the menu.  I have not tried it works, in my view, it could be related to some false recently-removed security software that appeared out of nowhere last night.

  Any help to remedy this situation and get back to normal functionality would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  If program shortcuts are not no longer works, you will need to use a procedure special difficulty fo files .lnk (similar to the one used above with .exe files).

  Go to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/06/22/reset-and-fix-broken-windows-vista-file-ext-and-type-associations-include-exe-com-sys-zip-lnk-folder-drive/ and select the .lnk and run it.  That should fix your shortcuts.  Or you can use the link provided above by Michael Murphy - it does essentially the same thing.
