Open the link in a new window in 11 reports

Hello

We are currently using Oracle reports 11.1.2. We open rdf with desformat = PDF reports and currently have a link in the header of the report entitled "Export to Excel". The link works properly, however, rather than the excel report opening in the same window users wants the excel report to open in a new window. We tried a number of settings to make this work, but the report always opens in the same window.

We tried to use SRW. GAME controls:

SRW. SET_HYPERLINK_ATTRS ('target = _blank');

SRW. SET_HYPERLINK (https://REPORT_URL);

return (TRUE);

Given that the report opens in PDF format, we also tried:

SRW. SET_PDF_ACTION ('C:\Progra~1\Intern~1\iexplore.exe' |) REPORT_URL);

We also tried to set up the link in the Properties Inspector by adding the report URL to the hyperlink box and affecting the box additional hyperlink attributes: target = "_blank".

We have also tried to generate the link by using < a href > tags in a column of formulas and add formula column header with the box of the property inspector 'Contains HTML tags' set to Yes.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Siva,

When you use the formula as SRW. SET_PDF_ACTION ("iexplore.exe" |) REPORT_URL); the link tries to open iexplore.exe as a Web page on the server and a 404 error is thrown stating that the system could not open https://reportserver/reports/rwservlet/iexplore.exe.

I read that some other bulletin boards and someone mentioned that they thought that this call iexplore.exe in the SRW. Package SET_PDF_ACTION would not work if the report server has been on a UNIX server as UNIX would not recognize the iexplore.exe file.

You happen to know if, when using SET_PDF_ACTION if she seeks the iexplore.exe on the actual report as opposed to the local server? So all because iexplore is located in C:\iexplore.exe on the local computer, could it give error because there is no such thing as iexplore.exe to this location on the report server?

  • Open the link in a new window button skin custom WebHelp (PDF)

    This question relates to my work with FM > HR integration. But the task, I'm trying to accomplish something is specifically made in HR with WebHelp skins customization, so I write in this forum. I'm under RH9 on Windows XP Pro.

    We recently replaced WebWorks HR and finally have in place mapping files to generate the help of our FM source files. Celebration was short, because then we realized that our users wanted a PDF option. We did not all mapping to create HR PDF files, and that seems a little ridiculous anyway, since we have a generation of PDF files FM.

    So I set out to do a custom button in the header of a WebHelp skin that will link in PDF format. I have accomplshed that work, but his behavior below the feature I'd like to see. Currently, you click on the button and it opens the PDF file in the window of the browser of the help system. I want to open it in a new window, so I can keep the own experience for users, by separating the help and PDF. I don't know if this is possible.

    Here's where I am. To create a button that I've navigated:

    Set-up/Skins/NEW SKIN / WebHelp Skin Editor of the project / main/NEWS BUTTON

    When I choose the change icon to customize the new button, there is an option to select a link or JavaScript. I got the PDF file to open it in the browser to help simply by using the link option and specifying the PDF file. I tried to use the JavaScript option without success. My JS may be wrong, but when I choose option JS inline and place anything here, it turns all the gibberish navigation buttons *. By specifying an external JS file does not work.

    Any directions or help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Rick,

    I think that you have added, but it's a little hidden. To make it work, you must use the window.open method: http://www.w3schools.com/jsref/met_win_open.asp

    In the onclick, add: window.open ('url_to_pdf', ", 'Width = 500 height = 500');

  • PDF to open the link in a new window?

    I want to create a Word document with hyperlinks to a variety of PDF files. I then want to create a PDF file from the Word document with hyperlinks intact.

    That is the problem. The Word document PDF file has its links in the same window. I want the links to open in a new window. I created links in the Word document to open it in a new window, but when the Word document is converted to PDF, embedded links dispossessed of their property open in new window.

    I know I can manually set the user preferences in Adobe Reader not to open the interdocument links in the same window, but this is not the default.

    Y at - it a script that can be run when the first PDF file which opens automatically changes the user preferences so that interdocument links open in a new window? Or is it possible to easily change the links created during the process of Word-to-PDF so that links between documents open in a new window?

    Thanks for any help.

  • With the help of Firefox 4.0 Beta 4. When I open a link in a new window, the web address does not appear in the address bar. Why?

    When I opened a web page link in "a new window" opens the link, but the information of the web page does not appear in the address bar. It is empty. If I open the link in a new tab, ho problem exists.

    In addition, if one open a link in the tab without a location in a new tab in the same window and then go to the original tab, the address bar fills up with the web address.

    Made it from several places, so it not dependent on location.

    That behavior is likely to be the top caused by an add-on, and in your case the probable guilty is IE Tab 2, the different versions of IE Tab caused problems with Firefox 4 beta, including issues with the location bar not updated.

    You can test to see if IE Tab 2 is causing your problem by disabling the it and then see if the address in a new window bar displays the address. If it isn't this add-on causing the problem, see Troubleshooting extensions and themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems.

    FYI, the IE Tab Plus add-on has been updated recently to improve compatibility with Firefox 4 beta, you can try this one instead. The latest version is available from http://coralietab.mozdev.org/installation.html
