Opening image files

Why my files open in images and it won't let me access it? I'm working on an exchange network.

Why: you may have clicked 'Open with photos' on a file by mistake, that changes the default handler.  Solution: option n ° 1 on this page.

  • InDesign doesn't let Me not open Image files instead in my Document?

    Hi all

First time posting here and I hope you guys can help! I just installed the Master Collection yesterday after using the suite Design Premium for quite a while. I just started a new document in InDesign and I just wanted to open some pictures and scans of Word in InDesign. However, after I click on file > open > "Proper case" there is a button on the window that reads "all readable Documents." This box is checked, but all the image files are "grey" so I can't select them. If I change the option mentioned earlier to "All Documents" files names is more "grayed out", but when I double click on a file I get an error (see attachment).

I never had this happen before the images I want to open only from JPEG and PDF files? I need to get a project in tomorrow and now I'm worried. I guess it's something to do with the new facility, but I am at a loss...

Thank you very much in advance for any help you can provide.

In InDesign, you import the images, using the file > place command, rather than open them. ID only opens files created in InDesign, everything else comes Place or copy/paste (which you should not do with images except from one place to the other in identity documents - paste from Photoshop, for example, only gives you preview low-resolution screen RGB and no way to change and be updated later).

If you are a fan of drag / drop, you can drag images from bridge, Finder or Explorer and drop them on the page, which is the equivalent of the place. Dragging a window of application is the equivalent of dough.

  • Vista crashes whenever I try to open image files.

Whenever I try to download image files, my browser crashes. This has happened on IE, Firefox and Chrome. Also if I try to download a picture online email (gmail, for example), crash of the browser. So it must be a Windows problem. Please notify.

    Hey Lynnels,

This is mainly due to my bad video codecs. Please upgrade to the latest version of the code pack installed or disable the mp4 codec or the creation of thumbnails.

    Also try these methods.

    Method 1

Start in safe mode and check.

    1. remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.

    2. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    3. If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.

    4. If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

    5. in the display Advanced Startup Options, use the arrow keys to select the option of safe mode you want and press ENTER. For more information about the options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

  • PS CS6 zoom sometimes affects open images

I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce this problem. It's on Win7 x 64 with PS CS6. On a little frequent basis, when I Zoom in on an image open, the same zoom magnification will apply to all the other images, I opened. When this happens, and I have several open image files, you can imagine that it is annoying to have to reset the view to all open images.

Seems like the legacy of zoom sometimes happens when I drag a layer from an image on another window open an image that is at a different zoom magnification. But it doesn't happen every time.

If it is a 'feature' it please tell me how to avoid it or turn it off.

Select the Zoom tool and see if this parameter is set in the box options:

  • image files do not open anywhere

I know that it is an old Mac. And he has been replaced by a slick of Macbook Air. But it was convenient to scan images. Mac itself will not open the TIF Image Capture done file. I can open PNG files in the preview, but not in iPhoto. Cannot move them to my Windows machine, which is what I have to do.

Returned to preview and tried I tried SAVE AS with all variations of TIFF, GIF. Neither Windows nor the new Macbook Air will open one of these. It is terrible because I spent a good amount of time and energy on digitization. But the fact that even the Mac won't open the files that he has done is quite stunning. Any ideas? Re-scan these will hurt.

Thanks for all the tracks, suggestions, whatever,
    Jeanne

It was a wonderful ability that seems to have disappeared now... This is the case, or is there something I don't know?
