opening of new window window w. no Bookmakrs toolbar. toggling the display... Bookmarks toolbar makes it appear.

In addition, the new window shows two albums "band" around the window. They say Firefox, below says Firefox w a menu drop-down.

Sounds like an extension conflict.

  • Can I configure Firefox to ALWAYS open a new WINDOW instead of a tab? I used to be able to do and hate using the tabs!

    Mac desktop computer.

Yes, or you can right-click and select "Open in New Window ' or change this option in the Firefox settings:

    1. Go to the topic: preferences and uncheck the box under the tabs 'open new window in a new tab only '.

  • When you open a new window, it automatically loads the last content pop up (?) and I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in the new window.

I don't know if they are technically pop-up windows (for example, if you perform a search on kayak.com, it will automatically open a new window of priceline.com with the search results), but that happens with Blocker on or off. Other examples are a little info to a financial site window or .edu, which opens a session is about to expire, or answer a FAQ (with the exception of the priceline example, these windows have an address bar or view a URL). In any case, once these windows are closed, if I try to open a new window, it will automatically load the content of this "pop-up". Whenever he does, I'm unable to type in the address bar or open a new tab in this window.

How can I fix it? What I want is to open a new window which is empty, not load the previous contents.

No, I just realized that I was holding Command-Shift-N rather than command-N

  • Problem in opening a new window using GetURL()

    Hi all

I'm trying to use GetURL() to open a new window where I can play an FLV file in it. I realized when I use the following line of code as an actionscript to a button, the new windows opens without any problem. But when I try to open the new windows by placing the same line of code in the last picture of my animation film, the new window gets stuck with blocker. This happens in Windows Vista SP2.

    getURL ("javascript:window.open (' http://www.myWebAddress.com/photoalbums/ Albums ',' ',' width is 700px, height = 540px, toolbar = no, scrollbars = no, resizable = no, menubar = no, status = no, directories = no, location = no'), void (0)");

It seems the blocker windows stop new window opening once the user does not have the application by clicking. Can someone be kind enough to tell me what is current because I want to open a new window and not be stopped by the window blocker.

Thank you very much and have a great day.

    Khoramdin.

    Just use
    getURL (" http://www.yoursite.com/photoalbums/", "_blank");

you have no control on the toolbar, scrollbars and so on, since it's not a pop-up, but it will not be blocked.

  • Every 5 to 10 minutes mozilla guard redirect me to another site or opens a new window.

Every 5 to 10 minutes mozilla guard redirect me to another site or opens a new window. I tried to uninstall and install bt nothing has changed. I also tried the reset firefox feature to restore to its default state. I'll be glad to get other solutions

First, I would check to make sure that you have not misunderstood Add-ons installed: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-or-remove-add-ons

However, it seems that you may have an infection of malicious software on your system. Try to install this and runing a scan: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

  • When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried to change that in all: config; Browser.newtab.URL, but it will not

When I click on the + to open a new window I don't like the images that arise. I tried several times to change that through words: config; Browser.newtab.URL. I put in the site I want and it won't change. I tried to put in: blank and it don't work. I'm obviously something wrong - can you help please?

    Thank you

If Firefox is ignorant preference browser.newtab.url, the usual culprit is an extension.

You can open the page in Firefox Add-ons using either:

    • CTRL + SHIFT + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons
    • in the Windows "Run" dialog box, type or paste
      firefox.exe "about:addons"

In the left column, click Extensions. Then, in case of doubt, disable (or delete, if possible) not recognized and unwanted extensions. Do not forget that all extensions are optional, none come with Firefox, and you can learn more about them by checking their reviews on the site of the Add - ons.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

    Any improvement?

  • Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window.

When I try to open Firefox, I get this message:
"Firefox is already running but is not responding. The old process of Firefox must be closed to open a new window. »
I then clicked close firefox, but the problem was solved not so I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox, but it's the same thing.
At this point, I went to support Mozilla and tried the steps described in the article, "Firefox is already running but is not responsible for - How to fix error message", but the firefox.exe process was not in the processes tab in windows Task Manager. While he was in the Details tab, when I tried to put an end to the process, I received this message:

"The operation could not be completed. Access is denied. "

What can I do to fix this?

    Thank you.

Usually when you stop and restart Windows, Firefox is not running and can be started normally.

Firefox is set to start automatically with Windows? Microsoft has a utility to investigate what is set to happen at startup: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

It is possible that something is triggering a process in your default browser and it is the hanging of Firefox. You can try to change your default browser to IE (IE can offer to do when you start) before the shutdown and restart Windows to see if it makes a difference.

In case you have activated automatic private browsing, you can use the Options dialog box to turn off.

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > privacy

Change the menu drop down of "conservation rules: don't remember history ' to ' Firefox will be: use the custom settings for history".

Then you can uncheck the box for automatic private browsing.

  • When I open a new window, it also opens a new tab. How to open a new window without a new tab opening automatically with it. This problem just started.

I used to be able to open a new window (Ctrl + N) and it would 'only' to open a new window, which is what I wanted.

Now, when I open a new window, it opens a new window, but it does so with a new tab as well.

So if I type "Ctrl + N" for example, a new window AND a new tab when open. I close the tab every time now, because I wanted to only the new window.

    Hello

Some Firefox problems can be solved by performing a clean reinstall. This means that you remove Firefox program files, and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You can print these steps or consult them in another browser.

    1. Download the latest version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org office and save the installer to your computer.
    2. Once the download is complete, close all Firefox Windows (click on quit in the file menu or Firefox).
    3. Remove the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
      • Windows:

        • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
        • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox
      • Mac: Delete Firefox in the Applications folder.
      • Linux: If you have installed Firefox with the distribution-based package manager, you must use the same way to uninstall: see Install Firefox on Linux. If you have downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
    4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
      1. Double-click on the downloaded Setup file and go through the steps in the installation wizard.
      2. Once the wizard is completed, click to open Firefox directly after clicking the Finish button.

More information on the resettlement of Firefox can be found here.

WARNING: Uninstaller or the use of Firefox and not run a third remover as part of this process, because who could permanently delete your Firefox data, including but not limited to, extensions, cache, cookies, bookmarks, personal settings and passwords saved. These can be recovered, unless they have been backed up on an external device!

Please report back to see if this helped you!

    Thank you.
