OpenManage 8.1.0 snmp

I've updated the OpenManage Server Administrator from 7.4 to 8.1 on Centos6

Now the module SNMP (StorageManagement - MIB:virtualDiskDiskCachePolicy ou.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.1.20.140.1.1.26) Watch INTEGER: 2 (disabled) but the Disk Cache Policy console (omreport storage vdisk = 0 controller): enabled

Reboot, policy chanling (vdisk omconfig storage = changepolicy action) has not helped.

Is - this bug?

The controller looks like it reports properly, so it doesn't seem to be just a question of SNMP. I'll bring the issue.

    Hello

I have 8 Dell poweredge servers.

They have all the power supplies redundent and raid 1.

If there is a problem, it appears in the LCD display on the side front of the server.

However... I'm about to send off to a data center and is no longer able to see the facades of my servers.

How to make the machines simply send me an email when they feel the need to display a message on the LCD screen. So I can remotely see what is happening.

I reflected on this and tried Assistant and Assistant to the server but it gets ridiculously complicated when all I want is the error sent to me.

These are critical machines and so far it seems IT Deputy can do software updates and a lot of things on the remote machines that I don't want. This is related to a security risk or will simply another thing to fool you that will have the machine with her!

My question is how the machine to send me his problems.

The main, I want to know is failure of HDD, redundent power failure, maxing out CPU and drives low on space.

Any help on this would be really welcome. The closest I got settled assistant server on a machine that seems to be able to generate alerts, but strangely, there doesn't seem to be able to send them by email, but oddly, he can do a popup will appear on the screen, if someone is logged.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Simon

  • 8.3 snmp OpenManage

The problem with the SNMP module with OpenManage Server Administrator 8.3 on Centos. (StorageManagement - MIB:virtualDiskDiskCachePolicy ou.1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10893.1.20.140.1.1.26) Watch INTEGER: 2 (disabled), but it is enabled on the controller.

When the Disk Cache Policy: disabled

    Watch StorageManagement SNMP - MIB:virtualDiskDiskCachePolicy.1 = INTEGER: 4

It seems that multiplying by 2.

  • N3024 snmp trouble with openmanage switch.

    Hello

I have two new N3024 that I want to manage with openmanage essentials.
I configured N3024 with a name of community and also put in place a notification recipients.

The two switches openmanage shows upp under devices.
But they both have a yellow alert on them.
If I try to go to the web interface of openmanage, it takes me to the address 0.0.0.0
Under general / health in the switch I see nothing wrong.
    What is the problem?

I also try to get the N3024 to send traps.
I have test it with linkup and linkdown.
The newspaper of trap on the switch that I can that a trap is generated but in openmanage nothing comes in.
I have no problem with any other material traps.
Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong?

In general the latest firmware has several improvements on the 6.1 firmware SNMP protocol. After the upgrade is done we should test and see if all the problems are solved. If this isn't the case, then we can look in that still does not work.

  • Essential SNMP/OpenManage/Ncentral on Windows Server R2 block of 2012

    Hello.

I have problems on the two servers Dell with Windows 2012 R2 key and SNMP reporting.

We use SNMP and OpenManage for reporting to Ncentral (monitoring system).

I tested and I know that the configuration that I use only does not work on Windows 2012 R2 key and Dell servers.

In the event viewer, I found this:

The SNMP Service encountered an error when accessing the registry SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SNMP\Parameters\ExtensionAgents key.

    Any suggestions?

    Luca

    Hi Luqa,

Are you referring to OpenManage Essentials (OME) or OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA)? More like OMSA. This forum is dedicated more to MOE, if you can move this post on the forum of general systems management, you would get more help there.

    Hello

Can you try to set up OMNM like this http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/network-switches/f/866/t/19535001.aspx

Set up two profiles of authentication in OMNM. ((1) SNMP v1/v2c and used the SNMP community string, I put on the Force 10 switch 2) Telnet/SSH using the switches telnet user ID, password and the password 'Enable' leaving him activate ID empty.

They are especially interested in the varbind alertSystemFQDN (1.3.6.1.4.1.674.10892.4.5000.10.8), which is apparently not defined and appears empty when they receive the iDRAC SNMP traps. Exactly how is set the varbind alertSystemFQDN? It is configurable by the user through racadm, or based on a DNS lookup, or what? I could not find a sufficient explanation in the reference Guide of SNMP for iDRAC8.

I am interested by out exactly this information

It is taken from the operating system. This is the host name in the operating system. You must have OpenManage Server Administrator installed to iDRAC to be able to question the news of the OS.

  • OpenManage Network Manager does not connect to

I use the 5.1 openmanage Network Manager to manage the switches PowerConnect 7048.

I am able to manage/monitor switches using SNMP without problems.

However when I use telnet/ssh it keeps throwing errors saying "1 has failed to authenticate. Please click here for a list of devices that have failed. "trying to manage these devices by default".

However the document says what needs to be written to the field ID to enable.

    I got it going!

There was a problem with ssh on my switch. When activated it works now

  • Free ESXi 5.1 - SNMP configuration information

    All,

I have 2 servers ESXi 5.1, free license. I am trying set the snmp properties to work with openmanage essentials, however to get an error that the command is not supported with the current version of the software.

Is this able to do in the free version of esxi?

    Thank you

To activate SNMP need licesne version of ESXi, free version don't support SNMP

  • Configure SNMP source for the events of HW for IPMI sensors

Us run Dell hardware and tested OMSA installed on ESXi5 hosts pointing to OpenManage (OME) Essentials for any interruptions SNMP. As indicated in the following Dell FAQ for OME the 9.5 troubleshooting section, to avoid massive amounts of alerts unknown on the server of the OME from our hosts ESXi5 we define the SNMP CIM for IPMI event source.

This article as well as VMware material and KB, any reference to the need to use the vSphere CLI to make this change, which of course works such as documented. Does anyone know if it is possible to make this change via PowerCLI? We do not want to use the vSphere CLI unless it's the only possible way as all the other configuration items that we have implemented kickstart or PowerCLI scripting.

I was able to find the key value pair in PowerCLI where EnvEventSource/directions options, but I don't know if those who may be changed.

If someone knows a way to do this, I would like to know how it is possible.

    Thank you.

I think I knew that.  It seems that you have to connect directly to the ESXi host nothing to do with SNMP still, but if someone knows a way to avoid this, I'd love to hear it.  But this seems to work at the same time, but would need to change to more than one host at a time.

    ## Script function: Modify SNMP source for hardware events
    ## Usage: Connect to vCenter where host(s) reside, populate constants below and run

    ## Host to make changes to
    $strVMHost = "your_ESXi_5_host"

    ## Credentials for ESXi host(s)
    $strUser = "root"
    $strPassword = "your_password"

    ## Key to change value on (in case there are different key/value pairs you need to change in the future)
    $keySnmpEventSource = "EnvEventSource"

    ## New value for above key
    $valueSnmpEventSource = "sensors"

    ## Connect directly to VMHost in order to see the HostSnmpSystem object (http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/topic/com.vmware.wssdk.apiref.doc_50/vim.host.SnmpSystem.html)
    Connect-VIServer -Server $strVMHost -User $strUser -Password $strPassword

    ## Get the VMHost .NET View object and select only the HostSnmpSystem object
    $viewHost = Get-VMHost -Server $strVMHost -Name $strVMHost | Get-View -Property ConfigManager.SnmpSystem

    ## Get the HostSnmpSystem object
    $viewHostSnmpSystem = Get-View -Id $viewHost.ConfigManager.SnmpSystem

    ## Create new empty HostSnmpConfigSpec (http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-50/topic/com.vmware.wssdk.apiref.doc_50/vim.host.SnmpSystem.SnmpConfigSpec.html)
    $specHostSnmpConfigSpec = New-Object VMware.Vim.HostSnmpConfigSpec

    ## Populate newly created HostSnmpConfigSpec object with current values
    $specHostSnmpConfigSpec = $viewHostSnmpSystem.Configuration

    ## Modify desired value for the matching key
    ($specHostSnmpConfigSpec.Option | ?{$_.Key -eq $keySnmpEventSource}).Value = $valueSnmpEventSource

    ## Reconfigure the SNMP agent to take the new value
    $viewHostSnmpSystem.ReconfigureSnmpAgent($specHostSnmpConfigSpec)

    ## Disconnect from VMHost
    Disconnect-VIServer -Server $strVMHost -Confirm:$false

Let me know if it works for your environment that we not use SNMP in ours, so I didn't do extensive testing.

  • SNMP and ESX 4

Someone set up SNMP traps in conjunction with ESX 4 yet? The snmpd.conf file is quite different. del is not their OpenManage Guide updated yet.

  • What necessary SNMP MIB file

Does anyone know where I could find information (MIB) machine for Toshiba MFP devices file. I googled had and checked the predominant sites for these types of files. I'm looking to get the OID for an eStudio-600 so I can configure the SNMP interruptions for alerts of toner and paper jams.

    Thank you

PS: I put here as a matter of SNMP network, if it's wrong please feel free to move it to the right forum.

In my opinion, this forum is wrong place for this question. I think you should contact your local dealer where you bought your eStudio-600.
They offer a type of support or not?

  • Is it possible to configure SNMP or logging remotely on the R8000?

The stock firmware allows logging of external data?

As a way secret for the program to install/activate SNMP?

Or direct the output of logging to an external server?

Because the viewport of the newspapers little pointless, just doesn't really cut it and go through the journal by email whenever you want to look over is simply absurd.

There is no support SNMP, for one of the Netgear router machine, in stock firmware.
