  • How to set the resolution on in my XP operating system installation.

I have a computer that had a copy pirated XP, I bought a genuine copy of XP for the computer I built, however, I was unaware that I could use it only for a computer, and I tried to install it on the computer with the pirated XP operating system.  Then, I was unable to adapt to the resolution on the computer that has the OS piriated.  I then bought another windows XP OS, installed on the computer including the resolution and nine I couldn't settle, (who had the OS piriated), however, I still have the same problem of not being able to set the resolution from 600x400dpi. My attempt to use the first copy of XP on my second computer was planting a virus on it?  What should I do to solve the problem?

After doing a clean install of the operating system, you must then install the drivers for all your hardware. In your case, install the video card drivers will allow you to change the resolution.

Never get the drivers from Windows Update. Bring:

    1. site of the device mftr. ; OR
    2. site of the card mother mftr. If the material is on board; OR
    3. website of the OEM manufacturer for your specific machine if you have a PC OEM (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.).

Read the installation instructions on the Web site where you get the drivers.

To find out what hardware is in your computer:

    1. read all documentation that you got when you purchased the computer.
    2. If the computer is OEM, access the site Web of the OEM for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway)
    3. download, install and run a program of inventory of the free system like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows.

  • Inspiron 17R-N7010 new SSD installed, now I need Windows 7 operating system installation CD.

    Hi guys,.

So my HDD on my Inspiron 17R-N7010 completely stock * on me last week, so I just gritted my teeth and just bought I have completely new SDS and installed last night... now, however, I need to reinstall the operating system. Problem is that when I bought the laptop, Windows 7 is pre-installed, so I don't have to drive to it. How can I do to get an installation disc, and how much it will cost if I can get my laptop up and running again? It's an outdated OS and the laptop is almost 6 years, I can't imagine which costs a lot. There is also a store Microsoft directly by me, can I go ahead and buy the disc of Windows 7 OS you think?

In addition, the original HARD drive was 640GO and this new SSD is 500 GB, so the recovery disks that I made when I got the laptop are unnecessary since Dell Datasafe Recovery (or whatever we call it) keeps telling me the hard drive needs to at least 590GB of space (or something similar along this message). The smallest space on the SSD isn't going to be a problem with the laptop in general or during installation of operating system Windows 7 is?

You will need to call Dell - they usually sell a set of recovery media for about $25 in the United States, the United Kingdom and the Canada.

  • VMware - script the creation of the vm and the operating system installation process

    Hello.

Trying to determine the exact steps to automate the entire process of creating a virtual machine, and install a linux OS (Rhel/Centos) in the virtual machine. I need to understand the steps to do it entirely from the CLI using scripts. I have seen a few sites that describe the basic process of creation of the VM, which appears to generate the vmdk file.

I've seen nothing that shows what needs to happen to install the operating system in the virtual machine, in the CLI. This process should be auto/programming, so I can't use the GUI.

I imagine that the whole process will have to call the process/kickstart file and start from that somehow, but I don't see how the elements fit. The goal is to then have a VM with the required OS/Apps that are then run / deployed by external users on their machines.

If this process can work, then we can talk to a Council-expert/vmware on the next phase of the project.

Answer that be detailing how to proceed, or point of item/sites on that would be great!

    Thank you

I just tested on a Linux system and had to perform the installation of VMware VIX - 1.10.1 - 266898 two times.  It is not the first time without any message in the log file.

After a successful installation, I ran a .vmx without first modifying the /usr/lib/vmware-vix/vixwrapper-config.txt file and received the error message waited on the specified version was not found and then after editing it, I was able to run the .vmx using vmrun nogui.

  • no storage device found more by guest operating system installation on a virtual machine

    Hello

I'm trying to install a guest on a new virtual machine operating system, but I can't go forward.

I use a Dell PowerEdge 2850 , the hypervisor Server VMware ESXi 3.5 update 3 and the VMware Infrastructure Client on my computer with operating system Windows XP host.

I am able to create a new virtual machine, but also to start on a cd for installing a guest operating system, which is (still) of Windows XP. During the installation-Setup asks me to press on enter for a new installation, the next thing is a screen with the message that Setup cannot find any storage device! It's weird, because I use the same as other data store created vm is imposed and other virtual machines always work. I created the new virtual machine several times and deleted, this is no problem. I restarted the server, but that did not help.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I also met this problem with a fresh install of XP VM.  Windows XP does not have a driver for the BusLogic or free storage controller... without that driver, only the virtual controller is not

recognized and drives are not found.

  • HP Deskjet 2050: HP Deskjet 2050 incompatible with the Mac operating system installation

My laptop doesn't have a hard drive, so I tried to configure the printer remotely by sharing the drive through another computer, but when I tried to install the software, it says "this Setup program is not compatible with the version of the operating system on your computer. It is only compatible with 10.6 and below."

Then, I went to this link http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Deskjet-2050-All-in-One-Printer-series---J5/40274... trying to download the software from the website, but was unable to do so.

How to set up the printer on my laptop if it shows that it is not compatible with my operating system?

    Hi @AAK21,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see you are having problems installing the printer on Yosemite. I want to help you solve this problem. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos.

You can always try to open the software by following the steps described in this paper: How to open a developer not identified in OS X applications.

The steps should also work for Yosemite.

If the problem persists, I would suggest to download and install the HP v3.0 for OS X printer drivers.

If there is anything else I can help you, let me know. Thank you.

  • How can I create an object for the vista HP 64 bit operating system installation disc?

My PC shows signs a failure and I want to save my 'operating system', so I can "reinstall it later." Everything I saw in the forums are just consider my manufacturer. My Builder can not handle make me backups. I had to send them back 7 DOA (dead on arrival) and they never gave me a working copy. So in the end I just receive a refund. and geeksquad is way to expensive. so, how do I go about creating a disc of resettlement?

Also the backup center and repair is more than the option to backup my operating system.

    Hello

If you have a recovery disk partition hard HP are the people to contact about this

It's their recovery partiton not microsofts

and they have their own special way to make the recovery partition recovery disks

If as you say your backup centers is not more work you can use 3rd party software to make a complete picture pc

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage/

or if you just want to reinstall a new copy of vista, read this:

    borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

then get the hp vista drivers

In the .log files, I noticed that the name of the file you linked at the end of CD/DVD in the DAA and DAA (Direct Access Archive) files are not ISO Image files, and are not directly usable with VMware Workstation!  You must use a valid Image ISO Bootable file!

  • vCenter operating system Installation

    Hi all

We have the operating system of windows 2008r2 that we installed vCenter 5.1. We have configured all hosts, licenses and the SAN configuration of virtual machines. Now, we are facing a problem with the tape library, according to the seller, it is a problem of operating system, this is the reason why the tape library is not detected.

Now my question, do I need to make a backup of vCenter server, how to make a backup of vCenter vCenter licenses status and what will be the status of the VM?

Ask you to focus on the above please.,.

What changes of operating system do you need to do?

The key to save vCenter is to save the vCenter database because this is where the vCenter environment is stored. VCenter stoppage will not affect running virtual machines - what will lose you is Drs the ability of vMotion and SRM protection if you have. HA will not be affected.

  • Guest on a data store NFS Windows operating system installation

I have ridden with success and datastore a system windows 2003 using SFU NFS.  I can read and write to the store of data without problem.  I created a VM XP standard and was able to launch and boot from an ISO image, however, the installation stops and says that it cannot find any hard disks to install XP on.  The problem does not exist on local data warehouses.

The problem isn't datastore NFS, the problem you need of pilots within a virtual machine to load the SCSI driver buslogic, cannot start XP without ANY file system.  XP has no native SCSI controller driver.  Therefore, load an image from disk.

  • Reinstall Windows XP Home Edition 2007, version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.101209 - 1647: Service Pack 3) after the failure of the hard drive and without operating system installation CD?

I was using an old computer and now I have a new and I want to give the former to my nephew, but I want to wipe the hard drive completely clean, in order to get rid of personal information. I don't have the CD of Windows XP OS came with the computer. After the failure of the hard drive, how can I recover 2007 Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3? The computer that I'm talking about is 9 years old and is a Toshiba Satellite 1415-S173.

    Hi Bobby Collas,.

You must have a copy of the installation CD without which you can not re - install the OS again.

If it were an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installation, you can restore the factory settings. Contact the manufacturer to do the same.

  • backup of the old system changed the type of operating system installation

After backup all data to your desktop at home and move the backup file on the replacement computer that was running and had been activated, got backup and ran into problems.  The original pc was an OEM system with a valid OEM key and had been activated for years.  The new system is a renewed system which has an apparently valid cd and COA 'For refurbished computers' active fine and had been restarted several times after activation before the fiasco of the backup.

After that I ran the backup recovery, system was restarted as planned, but when the time came to connect to windows, we encountered a problem of activation.  He said that the system should be activated.  I went ahead and put in the key that is attached to the system (the key for PC) refurbished, but he would go through.  I checked that I read the key from the sticker correctly several times and by two other people.  He would not suffer.  Just on a chance that the backup of the old system caused a little problem, I tried the OEM key that was on the original system.  He's been through.

If the old system should simply be scrapped, I don't think anything, but it will be either made to disadvantaged youth, so I want to make sure that everything is always good about it and it is all above board.  In its current form of the key is now on two different systems.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hello

I suggest you to download the tool to update product key on your system and then update the product key and check. Follow the steps mentioned in the article below.

    Update your Windows product key
