Operating system unbootable Satellite A205 S5803

My laptop is not started the Vista operating system because he crapped out in the middle of burning a program on the disk, if at the moment I can't use my laptop at all.

Whenever I turn it on it wants me to a recommended "Startup Repair", but he never took the loading status bar with the copyright of MicroSoft Corp. below. It just goes to a black screen, but it is always backlit and usually the mouse arrives finally and is sensitive.

If I choose not to run the Startup Repair, it automatically goes to this black screen even. I can push F12 to get into the boot menu and tell it to start something other than the hard drive, but I don't have a Vista install disk because it was already installed on the computer.

I tried starting the machine, by inserting the CD 1 of 2 of 'recovery and Applications/drivers' Toshiba A200/A205 series, pressing F12 and select CD/DVD.

It took a little while longer to load the same repair files as it did through the Startup Repair, but he went through the same screens after that and eventually came to the same mouse w / black screen. I left on the days at a time to see if the system was simply its slowness and don't saw no change.

I would get my laptop working again rather than ghost hard drive, but honestly I consider being able to retrieve my files a victory at this stage. That said, as a student with a lot of bills, that didn't really money in my budget to buy a new laptop...

Does anyone know what I can do to get my phone working? Help, please!

Hello

I guess that you didn't receive the recovery disk because more recent series of portable supports the HDD recovery procedure (as you mentioned in your message) and offers a possibility to create a clean recovery using the Toshiba s tool called disk: Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
This tool has been pre-installed.

I don't know if you'll be able to retrieve the device using drive recovery HARD option because tired different m recover disk of different laptop model.
Maybe your HARD drive has been formatted or the boot manager has been assigned

It is a series of Toshiba laptops we so drive HARD recovery is not the same thing as the European models. As I m not wrong not you must press the key 0 laptop while powered on.
However, the details should be included in the user manual which you can get on the Toshiba page we.

Your last resort would be to drive recovery. This disk can be bought from Toshiba ASP (partner). I read somewhere here in the forum that it s cheap ~ $ 30-40 (or Euros)

So this morning, I rebooted my computer to find it wouldn't boot beyond the Toshiba screen. After that, it becomes black and cannot be persuaded to do anything.
I tried to start in safe mode, but the same thing happens. I can't assume the OS files somehow has been entirely corrupted or the HD is shot.

Part of the confusion is that she worked a-okay and then suddenly, nothing.
Any way to deal with other than reformatting?

    Hello

You can enter the BIOS settings (set by default)?
    Disk recognized and listed correctly?
When you start F12 at startup HARD drive is listed as peripheral start?

What operating system do you use?
If you cannot boot OS in safe mode there must be a serious problem. On this path, it is not easy to say what is happening exactly but maybe you should try to launch the installation of recovery to see if there is full access to the HARD drive. If this does not work, I assume that HDD is troublemaker.

Try to get the new HARD drive for testing purposes.

  • Re: Reinstalling operating system on Satellite A100 without deleting the other existing partition

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A100-912 and have not reinstalled the operating system (Windows XP) for several years, but now I think that my laptop works well below par. I have my product recovery CD (disk recovery) and it will use for the re-installation.

I have three partitions on the HARD disk (c, d and e, respectively).

I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

I did this on a Toshiba Satellite L10 using suggestions in this forum, but I don't know how to do it on my own. Is the user interface for the recovery/re-resettlement is not the same thing, so I'm afraid to lose my data if I proceed with the re-install without knowing what to do.

Could you please say on how to make the re-installation of operating system only on the c partition without deleting (data on) other existing partitions.

    Thank you!

    > I was wandering if it would be possible to reinstall (get as long as the factory) my operating system on the c partition without erasing the data (for example my files) on partitions d and e.

No, this is not possible. The recovery disk would format the whole HARD drive and therefore the partitions created on the HARD drive would be so removed.
I recommend you to create a backup of the files before starting the recovery procedure.

  • Change of operating system on Satellite C855-1TC

I have a Toshiba Satellite C855 1TC and want to remove Windows 8.1 and replace it with Windows 7 Home Premium.

Does anyone have advice on this change in operating system?... .namely drivers availability etc.

    Hello

I visited the Toshiba download page - http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/dow...ivers_bios.jsp and I can confirm that your model of laptop (PSCBWE) is fully supported for Win7 64 bit so here, you can find all the necessary drivers and tools and utilities.

Before you begin to install Win7 create recovery (DVD or USB) media and backup recovery image. One day, if you want to have the factory settings once again you can use for installing Win8.1.

Is there a way out as more complication dvd player does not.

Hope I don't bin this phone excellent which has served me well

    Hello

I think that you have formatted the HARD drive. Is this good?
The lack of OPERATING SYSTEM message is clear that there is no OS on the HARD drive

The solution is simply. you need to reinstall the operating system

    Now the question is;
Do you have a recovery disk or other drives that allow you to reinstall Win XP? You need an OS disk to reinstall the operating system on the HARD drive

Second if your CD/DVD drive does not work then you might try to copy somehow folder i386 to the Win XP disk on your HARD drive.
You can then use the winnt.exe command to start the installation of Win XP

This is only one possibility to install Win XP without CD/DVD drive

The recovery CD were not part of the package, because you can create a clean recovery using the recovery disk creator.

  • Problem installation Vista updated and now the Vista operating system unbootable - help

Here it is the description of what has past.  Ive been through everything I can do and am now stuck with a code of 0 X 4001100200001005.

I worked with Microsoft Vista forum group of answers, but I'm not back upward and running if Im going back to HP for assistance.  I hope that we can achieve together.  This all started when started Vista updates failing.  I got the 1 3 install stuck on the 2nd about three weeks ago.

Here is a list of what I've done so far
I have an old HP DV9410us for a year which will not restart after installing updates.  It comes to configuring updates step 1 from 3 to about 98% and then stops.

It then says unable to start windows and start the repair program windows for about 5-10 minutes.  He said that you want to use the system restore.  I tell Yah Why Not.  Then, it will stop and start the cycle.

The error in the Startup Repair States the following

After a bunch of tests successful

    Root cause found:

    c:\ntoskrnl.exe is corrupted.

    Repari Action: Repair of files
Result: failed.  Error code = 0xa
    Duration 6521ms

    Action repair system restore
    Result: Completed successfully

He then returns to the cycle all over again.

I turned the clock to October with F10 at startup but that did nothing.

I checked the hard drive for the short and complete and checked everything.

I dug my recovery disks I did ago about 10 months after I bought and used to return to the top of my hardrive.  I was all ready for a MAC at this point.

I went back to the HP Recovery program and tried to restore an earlier version of a well-known operating system.  The Manager of recovery disk wont work so I used the Recovery Manager disk.  There is no old configs to this true its in step 2.

I'm now trying to perform a factory image recovery.
Reload the operating system.  It started and got to 13% after 20 minutes and gave me the following error code.

During this process, I have an error that had the code 0 x 4001100200001005.

It is the reformatting of repeat of the Windows Partition.

Is this a Vista update problem?  Have you seen this before?

I'm doing a factory restore and will let you know if this operation fails.  I just wanted to get this thread started.

I really appreciate this forum and any help you could give me.

If you had an error in "configuration update 1 3-3 3 ' which would be a problem with windows update.

to fix this, you'll need a factory image recovery if you can not access other modes for windows. But youy mentioned that you had a 0xx000x... (similar to code) error... try checking the hard drive and memory modules health... threr could be a problem with these devices, you can access it through the bios settings (turning on laptop, the moment you see hp invent screen, press f10) go to the diagnostics section, run the memory test and that hard drive test

very probably with the error you have, you might have a hard drive problem.

most of my clients (I am a specialist of the laptop of beak) with that problem and stuck on a boot loop or may not switch from windows, 95% of them had a hard drive failure.

  • Operating system on Satellite Pro A120 freezes

I've recently updated bios to the most recent available. After that, I rebooted and now windows freezes at the point where it seems to load driver ACPI. Then after about 10 seconds, fan gets boosted to 100% of the speed and then it will not go further. I also tried to reinstall the system, but once it is done with the progressbar that both vista and xp to run before the installation, it freezes again.

Last thing I tried was to run Windows XP (security error) which works very well. To me, it seems that the bios has a problem any. Anyone know what can be the problem?

    Hello

Are you sure you used a good BIOS for a series of good laptop to 100%?
The European driver Toshiba page you will find two different sets of Satellite Pro A120.
    PSAC1E and PSAC0E.

Satellite Pro A120 PSAC0E the BIOS 3, 30-win is available and for PSAC1E, you will find a 3 BIOS, 40-win

Did you use the right method?

You can do this via recovery DVD or disk HARD recovery facility.

Please note: this will work if your laptop has only factory settings. If this isn't the case, you must use the recovery DVDs. You have these recovery DVDs?

  • Problem installing operating system with Satellite L30 (PSL33E)

    Hi all.

So I got a laptop from my firiend from set. Now what he told me is it. He plays a game and the laptop froze. He pressed the power button and restarted the laptop. After restarting the laptop it says windows has recovered from a serious error. After that he could log on to his computer. Then he used the toshiba recovery cd, but this only corrected the problem for a short time.

Now when he gave it to me I started and he tried to load vista it says that there is a missing file: wdsuti.dll and I had an ErrorCode:0x3E7. I looked this error and then I formatted the drive and tried a fresh install of vista.

Vista installed fine up to the point where it asks to restart the computer once it restarted it could not load again.
Now, I tried another disc as the XP disc I install XP and then use the vista upgrade disc but the same thing happens.

At the moment im trying another installation of vista. It has installed vista, but is running very very slow and took forever to install. From his first start, he crashed and came up with this error message:

    Cannot start Windows

    file: windows\system32\config\system

    status: 0xc00000e9

Now I'm stumped with an im PC very well I can remove the parts and exchange them etc.
I guess that the hard drive is dying.
Am wrong me, or would be - this another problem?

Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT: Also note that I have reset the BIOS default settings and am now running Windows memory diagnostic tool.

What is the result after you run the Windows memory diagnostic tool?

How can I change OS to Toshiba Satellite L40-139 from Vista to XP?

    > now, I'm a little stuck. I don't see any other driver available for this chipset on the Intel, other than the chipset driver itself site.

The audio driver or WLan driver can be downloaded and installed from the device manufacturer's Web site. Check out what his chip and wireless network card is installed in the laptop and download the driver compatible. You can use a freeware like Everest for example hardware diagnostic tool to get information about the material.

  • New drive HARD and no operating system on Satellite C660

    Hi guys and girls

I recently had some problems with my laptop, never resolved so the company that sent it just installed a new hard drive and outside to lose all my stuff that I had not saved, I lost my OS too.

The company told me that as I bought the phone in Australia, they had no record of recovery for this laptop.
They then directed me to the toshiba support site that deals with this. So not helping at all really. I need to know how to actually perform the recovery and where I can get the recovery media of!

What I have to download it on another computer and transfer it?
Pretty epic question, but I am a student in Holland right now and need of this laptop ASAP!

Really appreciate any help that can be provided.

    Thank you

    >.. then the company I sent to...
Did you send your laptop to the Toshiba authorized service provider?

For a long time, Toshiba offers notebooks without DVD recovery, but with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. S manuals document is a detailed how to create this recovery disc. I presume you didn't create this recovery disk, right?

Now, after Exchange of HARD drive, you can install original recovery image using the installation of Toshiba recovery disc. There's no other way to do it. This is the case if you want to have the factory settings once again.
Of course, you can install version of the OS, but to do this you need original disk from Microsoft and valid license (product key).

Return to service. In General, they were right. They can not help you with recovery disk because European companies or providers offer don t taken such supported for laptops not EMEA.
EMEA is Europe - Middle East - North Africa.

If possible, install OS using Microsoft Win7 disk. All the drivers, tools and utilities for your Australian model, which you can download from http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/

If you have any other questions you are welcome.
