OR SHC68-68 for the PXI-6255

I see that the PXI-6255 DAQ module recommends the SHC68-68-EPM cable and SHC68-68 cable for each connector. My question, is there any detailed diagrams for the SHC68-68 cable pinout? Is it a one to one with the data acquisition module?

Hey TreyB

SHC68-68-EPM cables both SHC68-68 have mappings to pin one.  Links to our documentation for pinout for these cables are below:

The SHC68-68-EPM cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DE2D842E545DE64B86256F78006EAB1A

The SHC68-68 cable pinout - http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/26223F0B830148FD862577770069EBC4

You will notice the two cables have different internal shielding, as well as twisted pairs different configurations.  The two are armoured noise outside (the prefix "SH" indicates this).  The SHC68-68-EPM cable is optimized for mixed signals on our X and M Series devices that contain analog and digital channels and offers additional internal shielding between digital and analog lines for better signal integrity. The SHC68-68 cable offers only twisted pair and no armour to protect against digital transients because the cable is intended to be used on the single analog connector.

    Hello

I want to know is what is the ability to input of the card, or at the very least, what is the time constant for my setup? I currently use on 200kOhms, and he couldn't really do much lower.  Thank you.

    NEITHER x 625 specifications
    http://digital.NI.com/manuals.nsf/WebSearch/210C73CBF91128B9862572FF0076BE85

    In the specifications is mentioned that the impedance between HAVE + and GND AI is > 100 GOhms parallel 100 PF..  Thus, the input capacitance must be 100 PF.

    The reason why you might want to know that this is to determine the time, I guess.  If so, there are graphic sedimentation on page 2 of this same document specifications.

  • Need to model code for the PXI-6230 for NI-VISA driver Assistant

    I want to use the PXI-6230 Linux with NI-VISA for programming level registry.  However, the INF in the mhddk_visa don't contain the PXI-6230 in the file.  I tried to use the wizard, but do not know the model of the hardware code.  Anyone of OR have this info or provide me with an INF numbered on the inside?

    Since you are on Linux, use the command lspci - nn to learn the list the product ID for the PXI-6230. You can restrict the output of the NI PXI/PCI devices using the option d - 1093: after the command.

    Hi Engwei,

    Programmed tensions are the levels that you would have to exceed or down before a change of digital status is saved. This means that in your example, coming from a high level of 3V goes to 2V, the Analyzer signals would still record a strong logic. The deadband is actually a way to filter digital noise, common to the majority of the architecture of digital input.

  • Current limit for the PXI-4110

    I'm a PXI-4110 with LabWindows programming. I'm trying the current limit. I have an output to 5V with a load resistance of 1 K; This makes the current 5mA. I put the current limit of 2mA to work. When I read the voltage and current is 5V 5mA. Here is my code:

    g_voltageLevel_ch0 = 5.0;

    g_currenLimit_ch0 = 2.0E - 3;

    status = niDCPower_ConfigureOutputFunction (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_DC_VOLTAGE);
    niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);
    status = niDCPower_ConfigureSense (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_LOCAL);
    niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);

    status = niDCPower_ConfigureVoltageLevel (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, g_voltageLevel_ch0);
    niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);
    status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, g_currenLimit_ch0);
    niDCPower_error_message (vi_4110_0, status, errorMessage);

    I find that if I put my current limit to channel 0 to 10mA, above the error message disappears. However, I can put the current limit for channels 1 and 2 to 2mA, and I do not have an error message with them. I see nothing in the power supply on a valid range on the current limit. To be clear on what happens if I do this:

    status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, 8-3);

    I get the error "Invalid value for the parameter or property."

    However, if I do this:

    status = niDCPower_ConfigureCurrentLimit (vi_4110_0, channel0Name, NIDCPOWER_VAL_CURRENT_REGULATE, 10th-3);

    I don't get an error.

    Channels 1 and 2 do not have this limit. I went down to 1mA on these channels and no problems.

  • Usability is NOR-SCOPE Soft Front Panel for the PXI-5154?

    I am plans to use the PXI-5154 with his NO-SCOPE Soft Front Panel in a product to test instrumentation. Our past experience, our users need an on-board scope that is easy to use which does not load the CPU. In most cases the scope will be used to check a transitional type of pulses. So, the amplitudes and rise times are essential to ensure compliance with ISO standards. The ability to capture, store and recall traces of reports is important, as well as the ability to perform simple and reproducible follow-up measures. We don't expect our users to have to program the scope; "give me the waveform.

    Does anyone have any comments on the usability of the NOR-SCOPE Soft Front Panel? How to compare with other soft scopes?

    The scope Soft Front Panel is very user friendly and able to load/save waveforms, Load/Save settings and make the scalar measures.  I've attached a screenshot of what the front soft worn looks as well as a link to a help document on the high speed digitizer HELP.  Information on the scope Soft Front Panel lies in this document and can be found under the tab content in the configuration tree (NI - Scope Soft Front Panel help).

  • How can I display an analog input for the PXI-5105 on LabVIEW?

    Hi all

  • Is the latest driver for the PXI-5402 OR-FGEN 14.0

    I have LabVIEW 2014 installed on my PC and then I reinstalled OR-FGEN 14.0 but according to me, he said that there was either a patch or service pack, or a newer version available. Is this correct or is 14.0 the latest driver FGEN?

    Hi Dave,.

    As of today, it is the latest version: http://www.ni.com/download/ni-fgen-14.0/4824/en/

    If you are not sure if you have installed the patched of 14.0 version you can try to install the above. Also, you can use the Update Service OR to determine if you need to instsall the latest version or not.

  • Control of low level of the PXI-2596

    How to control a PXI-2506 Mux 26.5 GHz Dual 6 x 1 chassis PXI-1042 a code 'C' with a minimum of drivers? We want to use our own code, not of LabView, just plain 'C '. Also, we prefer to use our own controller (Linix based) shipped without a slot for a PXI card (if possible). Is there like a simple series or ethernet interface to control the boards housed in the PXI-1042 chassis? The switching speed is very low, it is part of a manufacturing test system, we want to use the PXI-1042 with several 6 x 1 Mux inside for instruments RF switching in of the DUT.

    Hi eirlund,

    In response to your questions:

    Is there a simple series or ethernet interface to control the boards housed in the PXI-1042 chassis?

    • Chassis PXI itself contains only the connections for the PXI bus and some timing and triggering and power for the cards. This white paper explains the PXI architecture in many more details: http://www.ni.com/white-paper/52018/en/

    • In order to be interfaced with the cards that you need to use a controller Embedded PXI or a remote control which allows you to use another computer in place and place an on-board controller. A remote control can be easier to apply to what you're after however there are some limitations regarding the use under Linux. More information on what the remote controllers can be found here: http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/10359

    We want to use our own code, not of LabView, just plain 'C '.

    • You should always use the relevant drivers for the hardware you are using, in this case NOR-Switch and NI PXI Platform Services if you are using a remote control.

    • These drivers work with LabWindows/CVI which adds additional tools to facilitate the programming intended for the material OR in C, this means that it should be possible to use these drivers of C, but there is less evidence for this

    Also, we prefer to use our own controller shipped (Linux-based) without a slot for a PXI card (if possible)

    • If this is possible will depend in part on the question of whether the version of Linux you are using is supported. You can look into this further here: http://www.ni.com/product-documentation/52786/en/

    • In addition, you will need a PCI slot or a slot ExpressCard to connect to a remote installation program with

    I hope that this information gives you somewhere to start to consider whether what you want to do is doable?

  • Why does take so long to clear a task (with the DMA transfer) using the PXI bus?

    I am migrating from a system that has the habit of using a PCI-6133 (8 channels HAVE simultaneous) and PCI-6733 (8 channels AO) to one that uses a PXI-6133 and PXI-6733 mounted in a PXI-1033 chassis.

    In general, things seem to be working (synchronized I / AO to run near the maximum speed on both devices), with the exception that the compensation an AO task on the PXI-6733 takes always (the order of 20-30 seconds).

    Even when I try the generation of the sine wave for the PXI-6733 in MAX test Panel, it takes the same amount of time to stop the task. If I switch to the use of interrupts as transfer mechanism, it stops immediately.

    I tried to use the transfer mechanism of interruption on my more demanding set of synchronized tasks, but that does not produce good behavior (even if he doesn't give any errors).

    Is there a trick (or the best diagnosis) to help get my tasks working with DMA under PXI that worked very well on PCI?

    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you, Patrick. I tried on another computer (Dell T5400) and everything worked as expected. I think that the problems I have experienced on the first computer were due to a conflict with a PXI driver for another card I have not installed during my tests (and which I did not know was PXI, but he appeared as a PXI device in M & A once I put it in it should have a kind of PCI - PXI bridge internal?). So ultimately, pure card / slot / pilot shenanigans and everything seems to be fine now.

  • Control PCLK when using the PXI-6534 in e/s mode

    I use ports 0 & 1 on the PXI-6534 in e/s model mode and also use output control in the mode of e/s to unstrobed for simple.  Users manual says in the mode of e/s model the PCLK control is not used, but the mode of e/s model seems to put down (or maybe he defines as an entry).  This a problem for me because I expect to PCLK to stay a high return which I set earlier.  Does anyone know how to set up the PXI-6534 in e/s model mode so that this does not affect PCLK... He's going to stay high?

    Thank you.

    Jim

    Hi Jim,.

    According to page 2 and 3 of the PXI-6534 user manual, if you configure a group to perform i/o, associated for this group synchronization control lines are not available in the form of additional data lines. The knowledge base, here, explains this limitation for the PXI-6534. In summary, port 4 is reserved once you are in e/s handshaking mode or a model and cannot be used as data lines additional unstrobed.
