ORA-00445 on OLS 11G 2

Hello

We receive these errors on 11 G Rel 2 on different databases linux x86_64

ORA-00445: "J006" background process is not started after 120 seconds
ORA-00445: "m001" background process is not started after 120 seconds

Told of the note of meatlink lack of resources -
We have enough memory allocated to the shared pool

I also ran the health check and has not found any problem (some warnings that can be ingored)

someone has suggestions

Thank you

Salvation;

If you have a 12 GB of ram you need

Between 1 and 2 GB-->> Swap space required 1.5 times the RAM size
Between 2 GB and 16 GB-->> Swap space equal to the size of the RAM
More than 16 GB-->> Swap space required 16 GB

    It's perfectly normal: what you type in the DATABASE is not the service or database name, but a tns alias in tnsnames.ora. If your tnsnames.ora is the one you posted, PDBORCL isn't there (see the description of the error in my post above).

    Lina says:
    I get the following error

    Oracle not available ORA-01034

    Is it a new installation, so that the instance has never been available earlier?

    If this is the case, you might as well just remove and start again rather than trying to solve an installation failure.

    What is the platform/os, Windows? Edition, version, etc.

    Message not found 51; No product message file = RDBMS, installation = ORADIM

    Dim - 51 simply means that this instance has been created successfully, so not really mistake in my opinion.

  • 11 GR 2 - statically define listener.ora in GRID_HOME with earpiece of SCAN.

    Hello

    Grid infrastructure 11.2.0
    11.2.0.3 DB & DB 10.2.0.4.3

    For all databases on this CAR, I encouraged the handful of earphone Grid Infrastructure SCAN all connections which is fine. However, without using the DBHOME Local listener - how statically set listener values in the listener.ora GRID_HOME?

    On some of my setup, where Dataguard is present - I'll need to statically define XPT, DGB in the listener.ora so that these services can be tuned so that the broker deals with Dataguard failovers. They will allow databases to be restarted automatically, without having to 'manually' start of the databases.

    Mind you, some of my configurations do not require the XPT and DGB to be defined statically so that the databases to be started automatically during a failover.

    Define statically XPT and DGB was a workaround solution Metalink offered also on my SR for a long time, but it was more clearly defined under DBHOME listener.ora. Less than 11g GRID_HOME, seems to be more dynamic.

    In what format?

    This is what is currently in listener.ora GRID_HOME.

    perdevora01:Oracle-VPMPER:/apps/grid/product/11.2.0/grid_1/network/admin>cat listener.ora
    Listener = (Description = (ADDRESS_LIST = (Address = (Protocol = IPC) (Key = Listener))) # line added by Agent
    LISTENER_SCAN3 = (Description = (ADDRESS_LIST = (Address = (Protocol = IPC) (Key = LISTENER_SCAN3))) # line added by Agent
    LISTENER_SCAN2 = (Description = (ADDRESS_LIST = (Address = (Protocol = IPC) (Key = LISTENER_SCAN2))) # line added by Agent
    LISTENER_SCAN1 = (Description = (ADDRESS_LIST = (Address = (Protocol = IPC) (Key = LISTENER_SCAN1))) # line added by Agent
    ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN1 = ON # line added by Agent
    ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN2 = ON # line added by Agent
    ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER_SCAN3 = ON # line added by Agent
    ENABLE_GLOBAL_DYNAMIC_ENDPOINT_LISTENER = ON # line added by Agent
    perdevora01:Oracle-VPMPER:/apps/grid/product/11.2.0/grid_1/network/admin >

    Add the static configuration to the format of the listener

    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    (SID_DESC =

    Hi Onkar,

    You say you have this error on some targets (databases?). So I think that it is not a question of data base, but it's VM/material. The underlying material could be extremely busy, or if errors occur during the filming of a VM backup/snapshot?

    BTW: replace you the xxxxxx of 240 or something like that?

    Eric

  • Nothing special about RAC DB upgrades?

    The GI version: 11.2.0.4

    DB version: 10.2.0.5 and 11.2.0.4

    Platform: Oracle Linux 6.4

    Number of nodes: 3

    We have a DB 10.2.0.5 running in an GI 11.2. We want to upgrade this DB in a DB 11.2.

    We already have 11.2.0.4 RDBMS installation in all 3 nodes. That's what I intend to do, to update our data base RAC 10.2 to 11.2 CARS DB.

    Step 1. Run the utlu112i.sqlin "pre-upgrade information tool" g's existing 10 DB.

    Solve all of the problems mentioned in the output

    Step 2. Stop the db 10g

    Step 3. Copy the new file inti.ora with the new 11g setting in the ORACLE_HOME/dbs 11.2. Delete the old settings of 10g

    the value CLUSTER_DATABASE = FALSE

    Step 4. Set ORACLE_HOME as a new ORACLE_HOME 11.2

    Step 5. set the ORACLE_SID for 10g DB and start the instance only in node 1 in UPGRADE mode

    $ export ORACLE_HOME = < location of Oracle 11.2 >

    $ export PATH = $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $PATH

    $ export ORACLE_BASE = < Oracle_Base defined during installation 11.2 >

    SQL > start Update pfile=11g_R2HOME/dbs/init.ora

    Step6.run 11gR2_home/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql

    Step 7. After running catupgrd.sql, start the instances of Node2 and Node3.

    The peculiarity only I need to do is to put CLUSTER_DATABASE = FALSE. Is there anything else I need to do?

    I want to do it manually because I have more control over the upgrade process.

    What do you hope to gain from having more control? What would be the advantage?

    Remember that you do not have * control more. You have the complete control and with it, all the responsibilities. In order to better not forget a step that would have made DBUA.

    Furthermore, I've never used DBUA in Standalone or DBs CARS before. Need to learn

    Have you read the last line in my first reply to this topic? I hope that you will test your upgrade before you do in production. You can read more of my thoughts on the tests:

    Importance of testing

    Testbeds

    Because you will test this point, why not take this as an opportunity to learn how the DBUA is simple to do? Sound far, much easier than the manual upgrade.

    Are the steps mentioned in my first post enough?

    I already mentioned some of the things you forgot in my first answer. Here they are again:

    You will need to manually fix the configuration of your network files. You have to manually manage the spfile and password file to new homes. And you don't have any stage to tell the new directory of Oracle clusterware.

    None of these steps has appeared in your list. Other steps that I can quote are to update the oratab file, manually start all RAC instances, check your services are up and running, recompile invalid objects. In addition, I saw no mention of backups. It is wise to backup before and after the upgrade. The backup before the upgrade is desirable in case the upgrade is very bad. You can return to the old version. The upgrade after upgrade is complete, as expected, a failure occurs, you will not have to redo the upgrade after restoring a pre-upgrade backup.

    That being said, learn to use the DBUA. Let the tools provided by Oracle as a DBA easier. In addition to the economy you time, the DBUA decreases the risk of human error in the upgrade process. Of course, I would go in my bosses office after I missed a db upgrade to see my boss to know that if I used the right tool for the job, the upgrade would not be smooth.

    See you soon,.

  • Big increase in size of the backups after upgrade

    Hello

    I updated my database of 10.2.0.4 on win2003 SP2 for 11.2.0.1.0 SE SE on win2008 R2 SP1 64 - bit, by making exp/imp

    The amounts of size databasefiles up to approximately 150 GB on each server

    But when I do a normal RMAN backup of the data files to the new database (database backup device type disk); I get a backupset that is 78 GB in size.

    On the old database, the backup size was only 36 GB

    Two data are substantially the same, and I don't think I'm using the compression on any one of the database backups. I listed the RMAN settings below

    Can someone tell me why I see this huge increase in size of the backups?

    Best regards

    I don't know what exactly was the problem, but when I rebooted the DB, replication started. However, the rpt file contains this:

  • running sql * more

    Hello all;

    I know this question has been asked several times but I'm still a little confused. I installed oracle database 10g express edition on my computer for the practice of the school. It works fine if I go to the homepage of database icon... However, there is another icon which evokes SQL * who I am trying to use to run sql on my computer but nothing happens when I type in a simple sql statement. I was just wondering how to make sql * more correctly installed on my pc so that I can use PL/SQL instructions for the code, packages, and triggers as well.

    You must copy the entry in the tnsnames.ora file for the installation of xe, which is located in
    C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\network\ADMIN
    on Windows

    XE =
      (DESCRIPTION =
        (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST =host.xx.xxx.net)(PORT = 1521))
        (CONNECT_DATA =
          (SERVER = DEDICATED)
          (SERVICE_NAME = XE)
        )
      )

    and edit the tnsnames.ora file from where you are running more than SQL.

    For example, I have a client installed 10g, which has its own file tnsnames.ora but I also 11g XE installed.
    This entry must exist in the customer 10g tnsnames.ora file if I want to connect with the version of windows
    SQL Plus to Database 11g XE.

    Moreover, why don't you upgrade to 11g xe?
    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/Express-Edition/downloads/index.html

    The final version was released earlier this month.

  • 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.1 reclassification; a fundamental question about ORACLE_HOME

    Operating system: Solaris 5.10

    I did only the updates of the Group of hotfixes. It is the first time that I do a upgrade version to another.

    That's what I heard in ID 429825.1.

    To upgrade a 10.2.0.4 DB to 11.2.0.1

    Step 1. Install 11.2.0.1 (software only) in a separate House

    If my current 10.2.0.4 ORACLE_HOME is /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db
    then install 11.2.0.1 software in /u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db

    Step 2. Run utlu112i.sql and solve all the problem mentioned in the output

    Step 3. Stop the db 10g

    Step 4. Copy the new file inti.ora with the new 11g setting in the ORACLE_HOME/dbs 11.2

    Step 6. Set ORACLE_HOME as a new ORACLE_HOME 11.2

    Step 7. set the ORACLE_SID for 10g DB and starts in UPGRADE mode
    startup upgrade pfile=11g_R2HOME/dbs/init.ora
    8. Run 11gR2_home/rdbms/admin/catupgrd.sql

    My question concerns step 6. How can you start a 10.2.0.4 DB after you set the ORACLE_HOME a 11.2 House?

    The previous poster, exactly gave you the best recommendations.
    regarding your question on step 6 (maybe 7 or you meant) so the answer is that you start up using 'upgrade', not normal mode. You are starting/editing the 'old' database of version under the new oracle_home/binary software and do the scripts (catupgrd.sql) special to upgrade the database itself. Saying in other words, start upgrade is not startup, it opens a database in a special mode

  • 11 g upgrade issues

    Hello

    I'm upgrading from 9.2.0.6 to 11g database in EBS's Apps version 11.5.10.2.

    I did 11.1.0.7 patch set tasks installation and apply 11.1.0.7 additional patches of RDBMS

    Now, my query is that I need to copy InitSID.ora from 9i to 11g before or after the upgrade (using DBUA) database?
    When I set the parameters to initialize database for Oracle Applications 11i version before or after the upgrade (using DBUA) database?

    Hello

    The instructions for the upgrade of database are described in the Guide to upgrade database to Oracle 11 g Release 1 (11.1) chapters 3 and 4

  • 12 c to 11g, ORA-39142 DataPump: incompatible version number 4.1

    Hi gurus of the Oracle,.

    I tried to transfer data from 12 c to 11 g,

    I took datapump 12 c with VERSION = 12.1 backup

    and I tried to import 11g with version = 12.1

    get the error when importing

    ORA-39142: incompatible version number 4.1

    Please help me in this regard.

    Thank you in advance

    Kind regards

    REDA

    Hi reda,.

    You just set the version 11.2 instead of 12.1 to say expdp "extract data and metadata into oracle 11.2 format"-you can then load this very well.

    See the example here Oracle DBA Blog 2.0: decommissioning with datapump

    See you soon,.

  • pl/sql appellant java class member function obtains ora-00932 in 11g.

    Call a member function of class of java from a pl/sql script, I get an error ora-00932.

    ORA-00932: inconsistent data types: waiting for an IN argument in position 1 which is an instance of an O

    convertible to an instance of a user defined class Java got a type of Oracle that could not be converted

    The code works fine when the java function is declared static.   However, since there could be thousands of users hitting the function at the same time and there is no instance of the object, I wasn't sure if it would be a matter of how oracle manages memory for each user in a session, if it would not be a problem, I can go forward with this approach.   However, I have greatly simplified this for an example that reproduces the problem.

    Create the oracle type:

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MyObject AS OBJECT

    (

    col1Data VARCHAR2 (10),

    MEMBER FUNCTION createData

    RETURN VARCHAR2 AS LANGUAGE JAVA

    NAME "java.lang.String return MyObject.createData ().

    );

    Java code:

    CREATE OR REPLACE AND FIX JAVA SOURCE NAMED 'MyObject' AS

    import java. IO;

    public class MyObject

    {

    private String col1Data;

    public void createData)

    {

    System.out.println ("col1:" + col1Data);

    }

    }

    Java function call vai pl/sql function:

    FUNCTION to CREATE or REPLACE fn_myobject

    (col1 IN varchar2)

    RETURN VARCHAR2

    AS

    p_rc varchar2 (100);

    myObj MyObject;

    BEGIN

    myObj: = new MyObject (col1);

    p_rc: = myObj.createData ();   -This line gets an error 00932

    RETURN p_rc;

    END;

    /

    And finally, the script from sqlplus to test:

    Set serverout

    call dbms_java.set_output (50);

    Set line 120

    declare

    VARCHAR2 (64) RC: = ";

    R1 varchar2 (64): = 'abc ';

    Start

    RC: = fn_myobject (r1);

    end;

    /

    I tried all sorts of things without success.   Any ideas on this would be most appreciated.  It is once again, 11g.

    Thank you.

    MarkF says:

    If you go back to the example code I posted, it is mapping a java class oracle object.

    No, it isn't.

    Your example simply sets an Oracle object type whose member createData function is implemented in Java.

    The fact that the implementing class has the same name does not have a direct mapping between the class and the type of Oracle.

    The important part to read and understand in the link I posted is:

    A call specification outlines the top level of an Oracle database Java method entry point. So, you can publish only public static methods.

    However, there is an exception. You can publish instance methods as members of an SQL object type methods.

    You are in the first case.

    To be in the exceptional cases and be able to publish instance methods, the Java class must implement SQLData.

    See the latest example here:

    https://docs.Oracle.com/database/121/JJDEV/chsix.htm#JJDEV13273

    Adapted to your example:

    CREATE OR REPLACE AND compile JAVA SOURCE NAMED "MyObject" AS
    import java.sql.*;

    public class MyClass implements SQLData
    {
      // Implement the attributes and operations for this type.
      private String col1Data;

      public String createData ()
      {
          System.out.println ("col1: " + col1Data);
          return col1Data;
      }

      // Implement SQLData interface.
      String sql_type;

      public String getSQLTypeName() throws SQLException
      {
        return sql_type;
      }

      public void readSQL(SQLInput stream, String typeName) throws SQLException
      {
        sql_type = typeName;
        col1Data = stream.readString();
      }

      public void writeSQL(SQLOutput stream) throws SQLException
      {
        stream.writeString(col1Data);
      }
    }
    /

    CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE MyObject AS OBJECT
    (
      col1Data  VARCHAR2(10),
      MEMBER FUNCTION createData
              RETURN VARCHAR2 AS LANGUAGE JAVA
        NAME 'MyClass.createData() return java.lang.String'
    );
    /

    Test:

    SQL> exec dbms_java.set_output(1000)

    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

    SQL> set serverout on
    SQL>
    SQL> select MyObject('ABC').createData() from dual;

    MYOBJECT('ABC').CREATEDATA()
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ABC

    col1: ABC
